A Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at DCA?

I'm a Disneyland fanatic, but I've never been to WDW. Mostly I don't have any desire to, but the one ride I really want to try is the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. A lot of WDW rides have made transfer to DL/DCA (BLAB, TOT, Ect), and I was wondering if anyone thought, logistically, it would be possible for Disney to build a Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at DCA (I think I'd make more sense at that park, like its Twilight Zone counterpart). They could knock down Monsters, Inc and put it there (though I know that won't happen since that ride is still fairly new, no matter how much I dislike it). But I think it would be a great addition to the park, and something that would draw more visitors over there.

But please, no Aerosmith. Can we have a different rock star? :P U2 maybe? Haha.

Your thoughts?

Wow, this makes me sad. I LOVE THAT RIDE. DCA is supposed to feature parts
of disney. It would make me so sad to lose another pixar attraction to a
rollercoaster. :confused3

Rock n Roller Coaster is an INCREDIBLE ride...but it just doesn't seem like it would fit in at DCA...and I too would be sad if they got rid of Monsters Inc...that's such a fun ride...my boys absolutely LOVE it...and so do I.

But WDW does not have California Screamin which is also a looping launch coaster, so I don't see why Disneyland would need a RnRC. Having said that Disneyland Paris has RnRC and their version of Space Mountain which is also a looping dark coaster. The Disneyland Paris Space Mountain in far better than any other Space Mountain IMHO.

I'm afraid of DCA being "themed" to death and becoming Pixarland. The only Pixar franchises without major attractions at any park are The Incredibles, Cars, and Ratatouille, and I could easily see "Remy's Kitchen", a rethemed "Cars" Autopia, and some kind of Incredibles thrill ride cropping up. And while I realize RRC wouldn't be a Disneyland original, at least its something that was produced because Disney is trying to milk its franchises for all its worth. I want more Splash Mountains, Haunted Mansions, and Big Thunders--rides with NO prior franchise and yet are the greatest classics of the parks.

It would be cool, but never ever think about anyone knocking down Monsters, Inc. Look at my siggy!! lol

I've actually seen a rumor for a while that it would go in.

Why not fit it in the area being taken over for Carland? I like Monsters Inc. and think it is a good attraction for kids.

Sure they can make it fit. That is my favorite ride and CA needs another great ride. I remember getting off at HS in WDW and asking "why don't you have this ride in DL??". CM looked at me like I was crazy.

Personally, I would rather that Disney move away from the cloned rides and create individual rides for DCA, as seems to be the plan with the addition of Cars Land and various other attractions in the works for coming years.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Rock 'n' Rollercoaster! And U2 would be an excellent choice. I wouldn't want to lose Monsters ride, but would otherwise love that!

U2 isn't a bad idea, but the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster would be most excellent with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, like they had on Space Mountain for a while!

Besides, the RHCP are an institution in LA. =)

i'd rather have monsters inc, than the rock n rolelr coaster. I wasn't too impressed when I went on it in wdw.

You lost me at
I'm afraid of DCA being "themed" to death and becoming Pixarland.
.

I mean, my son recognizes pictures of John Lasseter with the same excitement that he recognizes pix of Mickey Mouse...so Pixarland is definitely NOT a fear I have at all!

I also love CA Screamin', and see no need for another fast-take-off, loopy coaster in DCA.

There was actually a rumor about a RnRC opening at DCA a few years back wasn't there? I heard talk of it, like the WDW ride, being placed next to ToT. Or replacing The Muppets and using the old Millionaire building too. I was really hoping it would happen but looks like that rumor fell flat.

Personally, I think it'd be a great addition to DCA and would definitely attract the visitors DCA so badly needs.

Not that I'm a fan myself (my sis is and she absoutely loves the RnRC too), but what about Bon Jovi?

i think they should add it and i like the idea of red hot chill pepers lol
but i wouldnt want them to take over monster inc.. muppets maybe but millionair building would be a good pick

In 2012, Carsland is supposed to be opening near ToT. A ride that looks like RnRC is suppose to be in there. I have never been to WDW, so I dont know how much the same they are going to be. They look very similr though.

Also, to ther poster who mentioned about a cars, ratatouille, and incridibles attraction, and now maybe wall-e too. Carsland is coming, Incredibles ride has been planned twice, and shot down twice, but still in the air if going to be made, at one point it was going to take over the PeopleMover track. The only thing I have heard so far about ratatouille is the dessert or whatever it is at Cafe Orleans. No news on Wall-E yet.

Besides, who cares if all these Pixar attractions come around, they are great movies, my kids love them and the rides, and I know many many others too. I myself love the Monsters Inc. ride.

I know I have responded to this thread already, but I have had further thoughts. Firstly I need to perhaps say I have ridden the 2 RnRC's at WDW and Disneyland Paris. At DLRP there is a 2nd launch looping coaster, Space Mountian (so much better than any other SM IMHO.) Anyway, the point I am getting to is this. Why would Walts origional park need a cloaned coaster? I mean RnRC is an OK coaster, there are far better looping launch coasters in the world. To me Disneyland is the origional Disney park so why would it need a cloan? If it is felt that in needs another true coaster, why not make it a worlds first in some way, it does not need a cloan of another parks standard coaster. Disneyland is the origional Disney park, therefore to me if it is felt that it needs another thrill coaster make it an origional one!

Thats a great and valid point ! It would be great if they did try to do an original :)
