My grandmother (88yo) is in the hospital tonight with blood clots in her lungs. I think it was referred to as 'P.E.' for those who know medical terms. The doctors were pretty shocked that she even lived because evidently this is serious stuff that most often can kill you in your tracks.
The hospital is a very aggravating place when your have a loved one there and want some answers. Luckily, since DH used to work there he was able to talk to some there who could help us find some answers to our questions (like "what is wrong with her"
).
She is being treated with blood thinners now and is on complete bedrest for several days. She is a trooper though!
Please say a prayer for her if you would. Her name is Lexie.
My parents are on their way home from FL. I'll ask for one for them too-- for a safe trip.
Thank you.
Brenda
UPDATE:
Thank you to each of you who have said a prayer or sent uplifting thoughts for my Nana and parents.
My grandmother is doing quite well tonight. They have her on blood thinners and are trying to dissolve the clots in her lungs. She has had no pain at all and, like I said before, she is a real trooper. I can't believe how serious this was/is and how well she is doing for her age. She is in very good shape for a 88yo lady.
My parents also arrived home to see to her. They are snowbirds who are full time RVers. They head South in the winter. Nana lives in a beautiful assisted living place about 3 mins. from me. But my sister and I are in charge of her while Dad is gone to FL. During a crisis like Friday, I am overwhelmed. I kept my head and pulled through though
. I enjoy having my parents here (they are staying with me) & dread them deciding when the time is right to head back down South.
Thanks again for those prayers and thoughts. If it crosses your mind again, please say another that she will continue to heal. Thanks!
Brenda

You all will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope the treatment takes care of things and she's all better soon. .
