A question of etiquette-

Is it ever okay to take a design in someone's photo bucket, without asking and change the name or the saying? Giving them credit for their design, of course.
What if the DISigner is no longer DISigning or on a break? Should I send a PM and ask permission?

What brought this up is I love Linda's character year, and she has one in her photobucket with a family name along the bottom. I was able to remove the name and put in what I wanted- but I don't want to use it if its wrong to do this or I've done something wrong-
Please advise-
