I have a trip planned for May...with my dd and her friend. And I have already purchased MM for that trip. BUT....dh has told me to just go to WDW and get warm for a few days!!! Such a guy. But, I'm concerned as to what will happen to the MM that is already linked to MDE! I don't want it activated now.....it wouldn't be of any use in May.
So, what happens to the linked MM if I go on an earlier trip and don't want to use it?

My understanding - which I'm counting on to get 3 trips worth of photos on one MM purchase - is that your 30 days to download photos doesn't start until you download the first one. So even though you'll see ride photos from the first trip in your PhotoPass account, as long as you don't download them, you'll still have the full 30 days to download photos from the second trip. And each photo is available for download for 45 days from when it was taken - so depending on how close your trips are, you might be able to download some from the first trip as well as the second.

Well, that's not going to work. I was looking at going down in late Feb/early March. My May trip starts on the 17th. Guess I'll pass on this last minute trip. I wouldn't need MM if I went now! And don't want to have to pay for it again to use in May...when I really need it.

It doesn't get "activated" until your download with it. As long as you don't download any pictures, it will still be there for your May trip. If you do want to download and pay for any individual pictures on your "warmup" trip, I'm pretty sure you could pay for those a la carte, but I'm not certain how to make sure you pay without activating MM - I would definitely call on that to make sure it charged you right. Definitely don't skip a trip just to avoid MM turning "on"!

As long as you don't download any of the photos from the first trip, your full MM entitlement will be available for the second trip. So no need to forgo that early trip!!
