A question for Ticket experts

My parents always promised me they would take me to WDW. For my 10th birthday, they bought me a WDW 5 day park hopper ticket, and told me that we would be taking me soon. Well plans fell through and we never made it there. :sad1: I mostly forgot about the ticket and assumed that my mom had probably lost it somewhere along the way.

Imagine my shock when my mom handed me my unused 5-day, WDW park hopper ticket the other day (with the year 2000 celebration logo on the front :goodvibes). We don't have any WDW trips planned soon, but we do have a DL trip planned for March. Here are my questions:

1) There's a chance that the ticket may be a child's ticket. My mom can't remember which one she bought, and I can't find any identifying info on the ticket itself, except that it cost $206. Is there a way to find this out before we go? Also, if it is a child's ticket, is it basically useless (unless I find a child to give it to)? Is there a way to upgrade it to adult status? I know it's a long shot, but we're going during the time that DL has the "Adults pay the Child price" promo. Do you think it would fly if I just used an actual child's ticket?

2) Assuming I can still use it, I understand that I will have to go to guest services each day of our trip to exchange it for a 1 day Park hopper ticket voucher. Is this correct? Also, will it expire within 2 weeks after first use like regular tickets do? We're only visiting for 3 days, so I'm wondering if I'll still be able to save those remaining 2 days.

Thanks in advance for the help! Hopefully we've got some ticket experts out there :flower3:

ETA: I just looked up historic ticket prices. It looks like in 2000, adult 5-day hoppers were $206. It's an adult ticket! :)

What a great buried treasure!

Since your situation is pretty unique, I would suggest calling Disneyland directly for your answers - just to be certain. 714-781-4000

If you can use the ticket, you can go directly to the turnstiles and the CM will take off one day and exchange it for a 1 day parkhopper. I have heard that you can go to Guest Services as well. My parents used their WDW parkhoppers and they just take off one day at a time, so expiring within 14 days didn't apply.

Good! I was hoping it would work that way. So I can bypass Guest Services and go straight to the turnstyles?

I know oyu already figured it out, but another way you know it's an adult ticket is because it was for when you were 10, and that's a Disney adult.

I would call the number, just to make sure about how to use it.

The thing about that particular ticket is that, because it was issued prior to the implementation of the Magic Your Way Ticket Program here at the Walt Disney World Resort, it may or may not be honoured for admission to the Theme Parks of the Disneyland Resort.

I would still take it to the Turnstiles - they'll be able to confirm whether or not for sure. However, you should still be prepared to pay for admission if it isn't.

Yes! The tickets my parents used were from the 80s so hopefully yours will work!
