My parents always promised me they would take me to WDW. For my 10th birthday, they bought me a WDW 5 day park hopper ticket, and told me that we would be taking me soon. Well plans fell through and we never made it there.
I mostly forgot about the ticket and assumed that my mom had probably lost it somewhere along the way.
Imagine my shock when my mom handed me my unused 5-day, WDW park hopper ticket the other day (with the year 2000 celebration logo on the front
). We don't have any WDW trips planned soon, but we do have a DL trip planned for March. Here are my questions:
1) There's a chance that the ticket may be a child's ticket. My mom can't remember which one she bought, and I can't find any identifying info on the ticket itself, except that it cost $206. Is there a way to find this out before we go? Also, if it is a child's ticket, is it basically useless (unless I find a child to give it to)? Is there a way to upgrade it to adult status? I know it's a long shot, but we're going during the time that DL has the "Adults pay the Child price" promo. Do you think it would fly if I just used an actual child's ticket?
2) Assuming I can still use it, I understand that I will have to go to guest services each day of our trip to exchange it for a 1 day Park hopper ticket voucher. Is this correct? Also, will it expire within 2 weeks after first use like regular tickets do? We're only visiting for 3 days, so I'm wondering if I'll still be able to save those remaining 2 days.
Thanks in advance for the help! Hopefully we've got some ticket experts out there
ETA: I just looked up historic ticket prices. It looks like in 2000, adult 5-day hoppers were $206. It's an adult ticket!
