A question for anyone who has been to the World on the 4th of July...

This will be our first trip at WDW on the 4th of July. We've done Easter, Christmas, Fall and July, but after the 4th.

My questions involves viewing the fireworks. I know how crowded it is on the 4th so I am contemplating doing the fireworks cruise to Epcot. I've also thought of making a late dinner or desert reservation in Italy or United Kingdom.

Is this a good idea or does someone have any other suggestions? Do you have a special place you like to watch the fireworks on the 4th? Any responses would be appreciated. I need to make the cruise reservations this week if that's the way to go.

We have been to Disney twice on the 4th. The first time we arrived on the 4th and watched the fireworks at the MK from the beach at Fort Wilderness. The Magic Kingdom fills up very early on that day as they have special Fireworks.
The second time we went to MGM for the 4th because they were holding a special display and the MK was FULL by 9 am.
I have taken the IllumiNations Cruise. It was not on the 4th but was very nice. No crowds to fight and Captain Jim was wonderful.
My other advice would be to catch the fireworks at Pleasure Island on the night of the 3rd if you can. They were GREAT! It is at midnight though so it depends on you and those traveling with you.
