I'm not a DVC member and could no way afford that right now (graduated college a year ago). I was looking at the resales and I saw a 25 point contract that I could do and based on when I go, it'd be just what I need, points wise.

My question is can I do that since I'm not a DVC member? I know the initial amount now is 165 and I'd only have 25 points. but my plan was to keep adding onto it.

Thanks!

If you go the resale route, not thru Disney, the minimum point purchase is 25, so yes you can do that.
We are also currently thinking of buying a small contract of 60-75, and then add on as the funds and need arises.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I am basically spending the same amount on my upcoming trip as a small point purchase is. So this seems to make sense and then add on.

Good luck with the purchase. :)

Welcome fellow New Jersian !!:goodvibes
If you are comfortable and have done your homework...then..
.....Go for it and good luck! :cool1: :cool1:

Keep in mind a few things:
1. 25 pts. at SSR in the "cheapest" season (Adventure), Sun-Thur (not weekends) will ONLY get you a 2 nights stay. (11 pts. each).
2. Smaller contracts are usually more $$ per pt.
3. Resellers closing costs average between $400 and $760 + based on the purchase price. So...add this to the per pt. price to get your total paid price.
4. Is the contract full or stripped? Who pays MF/CC?
5. Each time you add on, through resellers, you will pay closing fees...again
5. Prices are always rising...buy what you can afford

Best of Luck in your decision!! :dance3:

Disney uses ROFR (right of first refusal) more often to take back the small contracts unless the price is high.
