To the craigslist person that came by my house today and STOLE the kitchen set, I hope you are ashamed of yourself, but you probably won't be because you are a thief, and stole from three little girls. Shame on you!! Thank you for breaking the hearts of my girls that offered up this kitchen set to sell so they could make some spending money for their vacation.

I only gave my address to ONE person, and brought it outside to clean it up for you, like a good honest person would do. You could not see it from the road, you would have had to walk up my driveway in order to see it hidden between my car and my garage door. And you took it and ran with it while I was inside for five minutes getting the cleaner rather than pay for it. What a sleazy, horrible thing to do.

Your car broke down?!? Sure it did.... while you were stealing a toy from my home.
I just hope that you really needed it that bad to steal from children.
I really hope that you are ashamed and that your children have better morals than you do.

Maybe you should come back over and explain to my children why you stole their toy and why they won't be getting the spending money they were told they would be getting. I would like you to see the look on their faces.

I have your email, I have your phone number and your name, and if need be, I'll let others know about you.

ETA: This is NOT about anyone on the disboards. I'm not going to be tracking anyone down... its just a vent to let out my frustration because I don't want my kids to know how angry I am for them that someone stole their toy. Yes, they were planning on taking the 25$ and saving it for their vacation. I will be giving them the 25$, well, slipping it in their bank, because its partially my fault that I stepped inside to get something. I just needed to vent about the dishonest people there are in this town.

Was this someone on the Disboards?

Did you post this on CL where the person might actually see it?

This is horrible! AND not to mention THEFT. I would call the police.

SO sorry that this unfortunate thing happened. It really makes it difficult to regain trust after something like this happens.

I am also confused about the placement of this post, but since you have all that info why not call the police?

Sorry this happened to you. Craigs List attracts scum. I wouldnt give my address to anyone on there.

It's a lousy story but I think I'd be inclinded to let it go and not pursue any further conversations with the person you suspect stole the kitchen. I tend to be paranoid about dealing with random people from CL because you have no idea who they are, what they are capable of (aside from stealing and if they stole that already tells you something about their character) and now this person knows where you live.

I am sure OP was just looking to vent, and for a little support, as from the sounds of it her kids were trying to raise money for a Disney trip.....
I doubt they thought the thief would see the post

 People stink sometimes

You should contact the police. Especially if you have a name and phone #.

I personally wouldn't call the police, You really have no idea who took it. If it was the person off of Craiglist as a PP you never can tell who you are dealing with. If someone is desperate enough to steal a child toy. They are pretty desperate and that might lead to other things

NO!!! Not at all.

Just a quick vent to get out my frustration and my moodiness.

Vent over, moving on. After all, its partially my fault that I went inside.

It's not your fault. Did you call the police?

I do have a name and phone number, but its really not worth it. It was for 25 dollars, nothing big. But big in the eyes of my kids.

They knew that my kids were the ones selling it, and it just hurts me as a mom to see them let down and hurt by this. Good life lesson I guess, we talked about stealing, being honest, and having good morals and values in life, so its not a total loss. :rotfl:

It's not about the money, it's about stopping someone from stealing from other people. In the time it took to write the pretend letter for our benefit, you could have called the police to report it.
