A Pretty Boring Trip Report

Is that a "southern thing"? There was a guy in my fire department who made meatballs with grape jelly mixed in. He was originally from New Mexico. They tasted fine, I didn't really notice any difference from "regular" meatballs.

Not sure if it's a "southern thing" but it's good stuff! Maybe the ones you had didin't have the chili sauce, that gives the meatballs a nice "spice" while the jelly sweetens it up!

1. There is no such thing as a boring TR!

2. You are doing great.

3. Do you like Jimmie Johnson? :)

4.popcorn::
Thanks a bunch , and YES I love Jimmie Johnson!:thumbsup2

I am loving this report, and I LOVE your rig!!!

Cathy

Thanks! We love it too! We started in tents, then graduated to a pop up. Call me spoiled, but I wanted a bathroom, so we bought the hybrid in 07. It's like the best of both worlds!

Great TR, love your sense of humor. After reading this I am convinced that you have to join us next Halloween, we could use your help. :banana

Or July 4th for that matter. Tom and Shan would love to meet you.
I would love to join everyone for Halloween!!! Since hubby and I are both self employed, it's harder to plan too far ahead, but maybe I will just do it!! Work will wait;)
I was enjoying the TR until I saw the 48 Cornhole Game. Let me know when you're coming back and when it will be displayed. I can finish it off let's say.

What exactly do you mean??? Do you play corn hole and are challenging me? Or your a 48 hater, and you want to harm them? Keep in mind, while I may only be 4'10", I am mean as a snake! Either way, you may be "biting off more than you can chew" :rotfl2:

I'm a 48 hater. I would love the chance to do a drive by smashing on my golf cart lol. I'm pleading with Nascar to please let Hamlin win this year.

Hey!

This is a great TR so far! :thumbsup2

Thanks for taking the time to write it.

It just goes to show you that the Fort can be enjoyed be everyone!

Just so you know who to blame for wasting about an hour of your time, here I am with my future daughter in law at Rainforest Cafe. I (Stef) am the old lady on the left, the cute blonde is Amanda.
009.jpg

OK, either something is wrong with my computer, or you posted the wrong photo. I see the blond. Where is the old lady?

So I came up with a plan...........Thursday morning I went back to the trading post and spent $7.00 on a pack of crayons (yeah, it was SOOO worth it) cut up a cardboard box and made a sign that had a big number 48 on it, wrote "5 time champ 2010" and made a big number 11 (Hamlin's number) with a big red x thru it! It turned out quite well, if I do say so myself. I had the boys do some reconnaissance to find out if that man was at his site, and when they gave me the clear, I was off on a mission!

This is excellent.

A mission!

Congratulations- I am hereby awarding you your TCD junior deputy badge.

Good job.

That afternoon, we took the cart down to the tavern. Yes, we paid $19.00 for a bloody mary and a magical star drink! All because Amanda wanted the light up ice cube that came in it! (We later found a package of 2 light up cubes at the meadow trading post for $6.95) :rolleyes1
On our way to the tavern, we took the little cut through path in the back of the 100 loop. Behind a beautifully decorated site, I saw an equally beautiful man standing there!!!:thumbsup2 I do read a lot of what I like to call "trash rags" (Enquirer, Star...) But I couldn't figure out where I had seen that smile before...........People's sexiest man alive, maybe?!?!? He also had his own personal golf cart, with a big musket mickey on the windshield (good looks, & good taste:lmao:) It took me about a half hour before I realized that it was the Dis boards very own "stacktester." :cool1: I raced back to that area hoping that I could meet him in person, possibly get a picture, but he was GONE!:sad1:

Again, something is wrong here.

There are three possible explanations:

1. That was a very strong Bloody Mary you got at Crockett's; or

2. You are badly in need of an eye exam; or

3. That was not Stacktester.

TCD

Can't wait til Sunday to see the Sprint race. I'm a Kyle Busch fan, pulling for Harvick this weekend.

Do you guys hit the 500? We stay at the cow pasture across from lot 10.

Great trip report and pics.

Great TR. Not boring at all.

I too enjoy the grape jelly n sausage. Only I use BBQ sauce instead of chili and smokies instead of keilbasa. I'll have to try it your way!

I never saw an old lady. :confused3

Watch out for Donnie...;)

More please. :dance3:

I feel so special that ya'll are enjoying my boring life!:flower3:

Frank- my boys DID do a little fishing over the weekend, but didn't get anything. Would love to meet "the professional" who could maybe give them a few tips.

TCD- my junior deputy badge?!?!?! I'm completely overwhelmed! The old lady is there, maybe your eyes are going bad? But thank you!:lovestruc
After finding out that Donnie is a 48 hater, I take back all the nice things I said about him!::goodvibes Maybe you and I could get a 2 for 1 discount at the eye doctors!

Donnie- OH IT'S ON!!!!! Denny Hamlin?!?!?! Are you serious?? Poor little guy could have locked it up last week had he figured out fuel strategy!:sad2:
He's still got a chance, but the 48 boys are tough to beat. They don't call him Superman for nothin!

kampfirekim- I have never tried with bbq sauce, but I will! Sounds good! Anything that can be thrown in a pot and cooked sounds good to me. I use my crock pot all the time, with the liners, so NO CLEAN UP!! Thanks for the old lady comment, would you like to join TCD and I for an eye exam?:rotfl: And Donnie better watch out for me.....I don't scare easily!!

SCtigercock- I'm with you on Kyle, I enjoy anyone who's cocky, but can also back it up! Harvick....not so much! I think he's a bully and treats his team, and Childress like crap! Have you ever listened to his radio? Last week RC told him to just shut up and drive the $%$%$% car!!! It was great! This weekend will be nail biter, basically winner take all! We do go the races, but we stay at the koa a couple miles down the road. It's a small campground with no amenities, but it gives us an escape from the craziness at the track!

So when I left ya'll, we were headed to MVMCP! We ate our pulled pork sandwiches and headed to down to the dock to catch a boat.

We arrived at MK around 5:00 pm. There were still quite a few people left from the day trying to get in a few more rides before they had to leave for the party.

Since I do all the picture taking, I'm rarely in any. So I asked Amanda to take our picture in front of the tiki statue:

wdwnov2010046.jpg

Oh, and then we turned around:lmao:

wdwnov2010047.jpg

So we decided to get a couple of funnel cakes and wait for the crowds to thin out! I took this while we waited:
wdwnov2010048.jpg

We rode BTM three times, and once I even opened my eyes!! Then we hit haunted mansion, & small world. The kids wanted to ride space mt. I DID not! So I got my cocoa and cookies and waited on a bench for them. These two pics are from that spot so you can only see the top of the castle:

Continued in next post............

We found a good spot to watch the parade (good, because it was in front of the pretzel stand!!) Even Amanda likes pretzels:yay:
There was an adorable 3-ish year old in a stroller in front of me, so I knelt behind her and loved hearing her scream, babble and point at the parade! She was lovin it! About 10 minutes in, her Dad decided to pick her up, put her on his shoulders and stand in front of me!!! Needless to say, I couldn't see anymore, so we headed out! I did get a couple of pics though. Dave, if you read this, notice that Snow White kept her back to us the whole time....prissy little snot!

There were various characters around the park with huge crowds around them, so I did a couple of "Walk-bys"

wdwnov2010050.jpg

wdwnov2010049.jpg

We rode Buzz, and the people mover when the fireworks started. I snapped a couple of pics on the bridge headed back towards Main St.

wdwnov2010069.jpg

We headed down Main St. to experience the soap...er, I mean "snow." We were in direct route of the bakery to get the one thing that convinced hubby to even go to MVMCP......a rice krispie treat! No, not the square ones you can buy at the trading posts, the WHOLE MICKEY HEAD!! He loves them that much! It's actually a good deal, I think it was $12.49 and it is huge and thick!!!

We hopped a boat back to the fort around 10:30. Amanda brought me some new mickey x-mas lights so I got a pic of those:

wdwnov2010004.jpg

Next post......a big reason why I LOVE the fort!

I agree Harvick is an @$$, but he just has more personallity than the others. JJ to me is boring and I don't kow about Hamlin. Plus I like Reeses cups.

Understand about getting away from the crowd. Luckily where we stay isn't bad, they have a bondfire everynight up front if you want to go and away from everyone else if you don't. Plus, we can walk to lot ten and pick up the busses that shuttle the people around the airport to the speadstretch/backstretch. When we first started going to the 500 we were in a tent and the KOA didn't seem to be tent friendly.

Looks like yall are having a great time

NOW you're talking! I LOVE Reese cups too! It's like crack cocaine for me!!! My clients bring them to me at the gym and my husband says they are contributing to my habit!:goodvibes

Oh yeah, JJ is boring, but I guess that's what happens when you're in the front alone all the time!:lmao:

From one vertically challenged Diser to another - I'm lovin' your report!!

Just how vertically challenged are you? It's okay.....dynamite comes in small packages!

Since we're throwing around names, I always liked Richard Petty and Bill Elliot. I listened to races on the radio back in '59 when Richard got his big time start, and Bill was always Mr Nice Guy. Both were very competitive but without causing wrecks like they do today..

I also like/liked the Petty's (both of them ;)) I actually went to Daytona when it was Richards last race there. They had a big ceremony and gave him a key to the city! Elliot is a nice guy, I think that's why he hasn't done much in years. You have to be a little cut-throat now to run with the "stars."

Thanks for joining in!!:yay:

Hubby is a big Elliot fan. Good taste.

Thanks for all the great pictures it really helps fill the void when you can't be there. We did 4th of July this year and my 15 year old son just asked if we can go back to do New Years again, he even wants it to be just him and dad, I guess I should feel lucky he still wants to hang out with dad.

Great job on the TR.

Old lady, but who's the hot dark haired girl next to the blonde?

We'll be at the 500. We're usually along Lake Lloyd for the summer race but way too pricey for the 500.

When Donnie sees this picture, he will never speak to me again. Can't we agree to disagree?

Crockpot liners..Hmmmm. Why haven't I tried this already?

I would be glad to join in on the eye exam, but my eye Dr. said that my eyes would probably remain the same for at least another 10 years or so. ;) I wasn't concerned with Donnie FRIGHTENING you. Apparently you don't know about his rep.....:lmao:

I was getting very sleepy, but this boring TR perked me right up! Great pics!

You are more than welcome!! If your son still wants to hang with you at 15, he probably always will. My son is 20 and we can't get away without him (and secretly I LOVE that!!) Be proud and enjoy every second of it!

Magicbus....I think I love you!:lovestruc Where have you been all my life? I agree with you about Lake Lloyd, the prices have gotten outrageous. Where are you staying for the 500?

Aw, thanks Kim:flower3: That means a lot coming from you!

TRY the crockpot liners, best invention ever!! Just pull it out and throw it away!

I'm still not scared of Donnie, I work at a gym with sweaty, testosterone filled men!! I've probably heard and seen it all!! If nothing else, I can probably out-run him!
