A Pretty Boring Trip Report

I'm going to try to finish this up in 2 more posts, cuz I'm starting to bore myself! It seems so much more exciting when you live it, than writing about it later. As you all know by now, I am awaiting the exciting finish of NASCAR season on Sunday, so this report has to be done!!!

I told you this post would be about a big reason why I love the Fort. I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever named Mason who has been going to the Fort since he was 4 months old. I would never go on vacation without him, so it's a nice bonus to be able to take him along. Since he doesn't get the luxury of sitting on the beach watching fireworks, having a drink at Crocketts, or going to the parks, I thought he deserved his own post! WARNING: If your not a pet kind of person, just skip over this part! Mason has own brand of fun while camping and of course, like any proud mom, I have pics!!!

It's great to let the fur babies enjoy their vacation as much as we enjoy ours!!

Thank goodness it was the doggie peeing with a new friend! Whew! (I saw the caption first and got a little worried!) LMBO!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Looks like ya'll had lots of fun and I had fun following along....

Unless there's more...if so, just disregard the last statement and carry on.

Love them puppies,,simply beautiful, :thumbsup2

Love theTR too ! Ya'll are a great look'n buncha fiends, :thumbsup2

And great pics too!

We are now on the down hill run, as the last couple of days we just relaxed and ate and drank A LOT!!

Saturday morning I was in "cooking mode" so I made a sausage breakfast bake in my new Oster oven, worked great!!! WHile it was still hot, I made some mint chocolate chip cookies, YUMMY!! For dinner we had planned hot dogs, and brats on the grill, so I made some bbq baked beans with bacon in the crockpot! Then we took off on our bikes to take some pics:

Here is where we encountered our first grumpy cast member, While we were looking at the horses, they all started sticking their heads out, which I thought was great! Usually we get the rear-end view! About a minute later a woman came out with some sort of goodies for them, they must have heard the buggy coming. She never smiled, spoke, nothing! We were the only ones in there so I doubt she didn't notice us, but she was pregnant so I'll chalk it up to hormones. LOL!

Ths big guy was so funny! He would gnaw on the food and let the scraps drop onto the ledge, then kind of suck them off of it!

We went back to camp, ate, and had some cocktails while we watched the Gators lose.....again:sad2:

Sunday is race day, so I put a spiral sliced ham in my new oven and some cheesy potatoes in the crock pot. While I don't have pics, imagine me sitting in my screen room, glued to the tv! :goodvibes

The kids had to leave on Monday, and I was sad! Yeah, I cried! It was kind of that empty nest feeling I guess!

Dad helping Nate pack up:

I'm Italian so I like to cook FOR people, ya know, enough food to feed a small army. Since my kids were gone, Trevor and I hopped a boat over to the lodge for a quick bite to eat:

It really is a beautiful resort!

Made it back to the rv, ran to the trading post for dessert (Tollhouse ice cream cookie) Started to clean up a bit so we would have less to do in the morning, and went to bed.

Tuesday morning, we packed up! Always such a sad time, even when you know you'll be back soon. I took one last shot on the way out:

We made it back to Inverness, unpacked and started on the loads upon loads of laundry I brought home! Thanks for reading along, I hope to meet some of you on our next trip! I would like to leave you with one final photo to remember me by:

Bye!:wave2:

OMG, can we please, please, please filter out the pics of the 48 and delete the pic of him at the end. I may have to quit following this report as my stomach hurts seeing it.

Lou has a 48 chair in his camper I believe.ay have to sit and smash next time he's at the fort.

Maybe I'll become a JJ fan. Seems like my driver always loses so that will stop him lol.

Donnie, you may want to rethink your tactics, did you see what Stefa70 wrote about me?
Thanks for the heads up, I'm leaving the JJ chair at home.

I always wonder: When we return home, does my dog gloat around the other dogs because he "vacations" at DisneyWorld?

:rotfl2: That is too funny!!!! I don't feel so bad now, I always ask my husband if he thinks Mason knows just how lucky he is?!?!

Pretty awesome that even JJ is a Carl Edwards fan with the 99 on the sleeve.

I'm not sure if you're joking and you know why he is wearing a shirt with 99 on it. In case you're not. JJ was involved in the 2010 Rolex 24. That was the number of that car.
