A pregnant mama, Mr. Crazypants, and Ga-Gae celebrate Epcots 30th! TR LINK-10/16!

Thanks for joining! We're really excited about a little princess! She already has a rapidly expanding wardrobe thanks to my mom, and according to her she is "taking it easy with shopping" until we get 100% confirmation. I'm going to hate to see what happens when she gets free reign!
Yea....I have two tuppermaid containers full of girl baby clothes and blankets for when I finally have a little girl :)

-That's a great deal :) It makes it so much easier if he falls asleep so that you don't have to change him!

The costume idea is a great idea. Pajama/costume for Everett should work out really well.

It was probably a good choice to cut AK if you have to cut anything. When we went last year, DW really couldn't do anything. We went and I rode EE, but I didn't even ride anything else because I didn't want her to have to sit around and wait for me. All we did was ride Triceratop Spin, walk the trails, ride the train and leave. Just nothing there that she could do and DS could sit through.

I think any day that involves getting on a plane and ending up in the MK is a good day.:thumbsup2 I hope Everett cooperates with your nap plan. I think SOTMK looks like a lot of fun!

I kind of forgot about triceratops spin, but I guess there are enough generic spinner rides around WDW that DS won't be too deprived if we skip AK. It does kinda stink that my favorite park is the least pregnant-friendly.

I love your costume ideas! Practical in the heat, and most importantly, comfortable. :thumbsup2 Can't get much better than that when planning for a pregnant mama and a toddler!

I understand your feelings about AK. It stinks to entirely miss out on a park, but with your group of travelers, it looks like you are right about that being the best option. I'm hoping Paxton will enjoy FotLK, but I too know better than to try to get him to sit through that AND the Finding Nemo show in one day. That is just asking too much from a busy boy!

Your first day looks great too. I know precisely what you mean about those early flights! When I book them, all I am thinking about is how early we will be at our destination instead of how early that means we will be getting up! :rotfl: Hopefully it all works out to where Everett is super tired and conks out for a good nap, whether in the stroller or at the room. I know I wasn't expecting Paxton to do that on our DL trip, but he napped and napped in that stroller like nobody's business!

We did do FOTLK with Everett in Feb and he did alright. He got antsy during the "can you feel the love tonight" park, which makes sense because its not very high energy and there isn't much going on. I'm sure Paxton will do fine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who falls into the early morning flight trap! I'm hoping that he'll nap in the stroller, we had good luck with him stroller napping in our umbrella stroller on Friday when we went to the outlet malls, and he wasn't even totally exhausted. This gives me hope! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I know. :sad2: :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2 Thinking I may pick up the cards when we go to our 2nd MK day and we can work it in on that day.

You know that you can pick up cards everyday you are in the MK, right? The desk behind the christmas shop in Liberty Square never has much of a line, and you can just tell them you are planning on playing and not get around to it :rolleyes1

Believe me, you're going to want to get all of them after you have the first few, its like a compulsion. :rotfl:

Whoa, I've fallen behind! First off, congrats on finding out the gender of your little one! princess:

I can understand why you canceled the dinner package. 3:40 is such an odd time. That's right smack dab in the middle of lunch and dinner. I'd be afraid I would become hungry later on in the evening. Switching to Brown Derby was probably a good idea.

I like your first day plans; getting an early night at Disney in the beginning of a trip can make the world of difference, and I have a feeling it'll still be hot out when you're there.

Thank you, we're excited for team pink!

I think you are right about the early night, I know that I'm going to be really pushing Everett this trip, so I don't want to start out with him on a sleep deficit.

Well, there was that. :rotfl2:

Oh, you are going to have so much fun! :woohoo:

I am already in big trouble, we went to the outlet malls in Kittery Maine on Friday, and I stumbled into the girl section of the gymboree outlet. They had this line with cats in gondolas, and I may or may not have bought everything I could get my hands on. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Yea....I have two tuppermaid containers full of girl baby clothes and blankets for when I finally have a little girl :)

You are one prepared lady! :)

I think you are right about the pajama thing, and they don't really scream pajamas, so maybe I won't look totally crazy taking him out in public in them.

I so did not know this! Thanks for the tip! I think we will go ahead & pick some up on both of our MK days.

:rotfl2: That is hilarious! Cats in gondolas - I need to see this stuff!!!!

There is something that just infects your brain and common sense when you have a baby girl. I was never a pink-loving person. Ever. Lo and behold, I found out I was having a baby girl, and I found myself buying every cute, pink or purple or, well, any color thing I could find. OMG - I can't even tell you how much clothing that baby had!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

Sorry you’re going to be without Mark for a while. I am happy that you are going to be at WDW soon though. The costumes you picked are cute. It sounds like cutting your AK day may be for the best. You will just enjoy it that much more on your next trip when you go. Breakfast at Cape May is a lot of fun and the food is good. You will have a good time.

I think your Day One plans sound great. My kids have a hard time napping in the hotel room too. Xander loves hotel rooms so much that even being in the hotel is too fun for him to sleep. Having a back-up plan is a great idea. SotMK looks like a lot of fun. One day, I want to try that too.

Excellent choice on your costumes - practical and not too overdone for anyone. :thumbsup2

So, so sorry about no Animal Kingdom time. :sad1:

I can't remember if I said hooray for your sweet princess, but if not, 'Hooray for your sweet princess!' :cheer2:

I am! Everything I buy is always on a really good sale, so I justify it that way :) I just went to Gymboree a few weeks back and they were having their red dot sale, and I got three onesies, two pairs of pants, two hats, two sets of socks, and a pair of shoes for $20! I just can't pass up deals like that!

Subbing to your TR. Your son is adorable and your arrival plans look wonderful.

27 weeks pregnant on the time - no sweat! Haha :rotfl: easy for me to say!

Far from caught up, but it looks like you have a great trip planned! :thumbsup2

I so did not know this! Thanks for the tip! I think we will go ahead & pick some up on both of our MK days.

Don't forget you can get cards for every ticket in your possession, so be sure to get them for you, Ed and Reid! That will help build up your spell stockpile!

I've got to take some pictures, its pretty funny stuff!

I think my problem is that I already love pink, and I've already done my time with blue, so I'm all ready to overboard with the pink and purple. Monday is the day of my big scan, so we'll have full confirmation then, and the floodgates will open!

I'm really excited we have the trip coming up, it has taken a little bit of the sting out of Mark leaving. You are the second person to tell me Cape May was good, so I'm looking forward to it even more now!

Yes, I think you're right that hotel rooms are just so novel and exciting that its hard to get kids to settle down. Plus he'll never go to sleep if he can see me, so that means I'd have to hide in the bathroom- which isn't my idea of fun. I'd rather do a stroller nap and have the whole MK at my fingertips!

Thank you! I know you also love AK, so you understand my dilemma! We'll just have to schedule extra time in April! :)

Oh and I NEED to get over to your TR, I'm sure I'm already 100 pages or so behind! :sad2: :rotfl:

Thanks so much, I hope to get an update with more plans up and running soon!

Finally all caught up! We were in Norfolk at the same time!! Friends of mine were re-stationed back there.. where our friendships all started courtesy of the Navy! Idk if you are looking to buy or rent but my friend moved in a gorgeous new condo/apartment development. They have up to 3 bedroom places there and it is right off 64 in Virginia Beach.. only downside might be traffic going to and from Norfolk. I am glad you guys had a fun week there before deployment! Everett's view of BG is hysterical! So Cute!

Day one sounds awesome! Hopefully Everett will think a stroller nap is a good idea! Looking forward to hear what you think of CHH. It is on our list to try next trip.

Next month, next month- I will be in Disney world- NEXT MONTH!

Can you tell I’m a little excited!

I’ve gotten a little more done prep wise for this trip, which, of course, involves buying more things! :rotfl2:

When I was at Busch Gardens I saw a pregnant lady walking around the park wearing a running skirt. She looked so cute and comfortable that it got the wheels in my head turning, and sent me straight to the internet to look up maternity running skirts. I found a company that makes them, and took the plunge and bought one. I really lucked out because I found one on sale for $38, which is a bargain compared to the $68 they usually retail for! I couldn’t justify full price, but the sale price was doable, plus I needed to get some more maternity work out shorts anyway.

Here is the skirt I purchased

ms-mums_midnight_up.jpg

I like that it is made out of a cool-max material so it will be very comfortable, and it has compression shorts underneath, and its always nice to have the extra support when you are spending the day on your feet pregnant.

It should be arriving in the mail today, and if I like it, I might buy another pattern that is also on sale.

Also I’ve been giving some thought to my footwear. Usually I wear my mickey crocs in the parks. They have done well for me in the past and they are very comfortable, but I think it would be smart to find something with a little more support. I don’t want to wear sneakers because there is nothing I hate more than having wet feet if it rains, so I’ve been looking into different pairs of sandals. Based on some glowing DIS reviews I’m going to go check out some Keens at REI this weekend. They are not cheap, but I’m sure I’ll still find use for them even after Disney.

Yeah, they are pretty ugly, but I usually wear crocs, so its not like I'm super concerned with cute footwear at WDW! :rotfl:

Oh and I also convinced my mom to dress up as a lion, so we’re all set for our costumes!

I also thought I could give you a detailed peak in my day two plans! Here goes!

Wed. Sept 26th
I’m sure we’ll be up bright and early this morning (because with Everett there is no such thing as a lazy morning). We’ll likely either do room service (this is why I love traveling with my mom, DH would never pay the extra expense to have food delivered :lmao:) or go down and grab something at the Contempo Café.

After that it will be time to catch the monorail and head over to the MK for rope drop!

2822160345_da3d10682d.jpg

Of course with a two-year old the first order of business will be storming the castle on our way into Fantasyland. We’ll hit up Peter Pan, Small World, Philharmagic, the carousel, and maybe the teacups, but not Pooh, never Pooh! :sad2::rotfl2:

2953441456_496373c25e.jpg

hopefully it will be looking this empty when we arrive!

a241.jpg

OK so here is my question, should I ride the teacups? I haven’t been able to find any official warnings about riding them pregnant, it’s not on the list of restricted attractions. When we went to Busch Gardens, their teacups did have a restriction notice, but they did look like they were going faster than the ones at Disney. I don’t get motion sick, so I’m not concerned about that, but I don’t want to do it if there is a risk to the baby. On the other hand I don’t want to skip it because Everett adores them. What do you guys think, yay or nay?

disney-world-tea-cups-l.jpg

After that we’ll head over to Dumbo. I didn’t want to do it first because I wanted to let the lines build a little bit and let Everett have some time in the new playground area. I think he will really love it! It will be a fine line with me obsessively checking the new Disney app, because I don’t want to have to wait too long. Ten to 15 minutes would be great, much longer than that and we’ll just get a FP.

new-dumbo-disney-world.jpg

One other wrinkle is the Casey Junior splash station. Everett is notorious for begging to go play in the water, and then having an epic meltdown when he gets wet. So either I have the melt down on the front end (if I don’t let him go play) or the back end (when he realizes he is soaking wet). I guess I can’t win and should probably just plan on bringing his bathing suit and wasting- oh I mean- spending -quality time there.

casey-jr-splash-station.jpg

I’d like to also be able to catch either the Dream along with Mickey castle show and possibly the move it, shake it, celebrate it parade, so I’m going to be keeping close taps on the times. The good thing is we will be really close in Fantasyland/Circusland so we could easily pop over and then head back.

P1-0005.jpg

From there we will head into Tomorrowland to check out Buzz, Monsters Inc and the people mover. I’d love to be able to do COP, but let’s be realistic, I’m traveling with Everett. I don’t want to be one of those annoying people who messes up the whole show because they are attempting to exit the theatre with their screaming toddler.

449420311_18c7303e12.jpg

For lunch I’d like to head back into Fantasyland (although this may not be the best idea from a crowd perspective) and have lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus. I haven’t eaten there since approximately 1996, so I’m ready to give it another try, and the flatbreads don’t look too bad. Everett is also enamored with Pinocchio and I’m sure he’d love a table watching the small world boats go by. The one stipulation is that if we can’t get over there by 11:30 at the latest, we’ll stick with Cosmic Rays. I don’t want to both fight Fantasyland crowds and fight through lunch rush.

251.jpg

After lunch I’m toying with the idea of an afternoon break, I know, heresy! I really want to take advantage of the pool at the Contemporary and it will be super easy to get back. Maybe the stars will align and Everett will actually take a nap in the room! More likely I will have to load him back up in the stroller and head back over to the MK where I will push him into dreamland (and then likely play more SotMK!)

disney-contemporary-resort-3.jpg

This image does look worth leaving the MK for, maybe?

After that the only really concrete thing I have planned is dinner at Tony’s at 6:15. I’ll have to play the afternoon by ear, depending on how much time we spend at the pool and when, where, and how long nap time is, we might be able to fit in another attraction or two.

6377437739_d973f737e0_z.jpg

Look I even found a picture with fall decorations, I'm so on the ball! :rotfl2:

I’ve never eaten at Tony’s before, and although it gets mixed reviews, I’m willing to brave mediocre Italian food in my quest to eat at every restaurant in WDW. It’s a big sacrifice, I assure you! :goodvibes

SANY0102.jpg

That night Wishes and the MM&Y show starts at 9, so we’ll likely have some time to kill after dinner (please don’t let dinner take two hours! :scared:). Maybe I can time it so that I can grab a FP for something (Jungle cruise?) before dinner and ride it before we have to stake out a spot for fireworks.

If not maybe we can find the Dapper Dans or the piano player. I really want to take some time on this trip to listen to the live music at Disney. Everett loves music and its something I feel like don’t take the time to appreciate enough at Disney.

300px-BarbershopQuartet_Disneyworld.jpg

Once the fireworks are over, we’ll join the masses and head out of the park, except for us, there will be no waiting for transportation. Nope, just a quick jaunt back to the Contemporary (I can tell I’m going to get used to this!). :)

It looks like you're really going against the grain and slowing down this time! :lmao::rotfl2: I had a hard time doing that last year... in fact I'm not sure I really ever did.

The breaks will be important, and I like your idea to try to catch some more of the other things around the parks like the Dapper Dans. Especially if Everett will probably like them.

As for the Teacups, DW rode them pregnant last year when we went. We just didn't spin the cup any more than it just naturally spins on it's own.

Hey there- I'm taking a break, I'm willingly leaving the park- what more do you people want from me! :confused3:rotfl2::rotfl: Once a commando- always a commando! :thumbsup2

I thinking I'll do the teacups, but it just seems strange that its OK to spin in circles, but not to ride splash mountain. Why is Splash worse?

Hmmm... teacups ....I say go for it. But this is coming from someone who rode a bike and cross country skied while pregnant. If you don't spin them how can they be dangerous? :confused3

You will love the convenience of the contemporary. I stayed at BLT one trip and you really can't beat the location.

I guess it will be nice when Everett figures out that playing in the water will get him wet. :rotfl::rotfl:

Nice plans. I have never been to the Contemporary pool - only BLT, Poly, and the GF pools. The Contemp pool looks great.

Cute shoes and skirt.

I don't think I rode Teacups when I went pregnant, but that was based on the fact that I'm not a big fan of them more than that they would be unsafe. I think if you didn't do the extra spinning and risk sloshing you around the cup, they would be fine to ride.

Looks like a great day in MK! I especially love the idea of stopping to see the Dapper Dans. We have stumbled upon them a couple of times, but I think Paxton would especially enjoy them at this age. If nothing else, he just loves to clap and say "Yay!" when someone does something interesting. :rotfl:

Adorable skirt! I've been looking all over for some cute sundresses to change up my park wardrobe a bit. Sometimes it can be hard to get cute maternity clothes that are flattering, but that skirt looks like it would have a good fit around a pregnant belly. :thumbsup2

That skirt is really adorable! And it looks very comfortable! :thumbsup2

I hope you're able to find comfortable shoes with good support. You'll definitely need that.

You know I'm also concerned about that Casey Jr. splash zone. :sad2: Did they really need to put it in the smack dab middle of Storybook Circus? Couldn't they hide it behind some bushes or something? :confused3 I thought about bringing Reid a swimsuit just to let him enjoy for a little bit. But, here's my concerns with doing that: (1) he's wild in splash zones so I already have visions of him running & falling & cracking his nose or head open and (2) either Ed or myself is going to have to go into the middle of that madness to capture him & drag him (kicking & screaming) out of there. :sad2: I think I'm going to stick to my plan of being the mean Mommy & saying no to the splash area. I'm hoping my bribery of Buzz Lightyear & the race cars will work.

As a fellow commando park goer, I know it pains you to take a break from the park. But, I do think it's for the best. At least y'all will be so close!

I think your plans are sounding great for this day! :thumbsup2

You're right, if there was really any danger at all, there would be a warning. I guess it just seems like everything that I love is dangerous while you are pregnant (sushi, alcohol, rollercoasters), so I just figured something fun like the teacups would be on the blacklist as well. :sad2:

Yes, I can't wait until Everett develops logic, that will definitely make my life easier! Yesterday he stepped in a huge puddle when I was trying to get him in the car (on purpose, mind you) and then I had to spend the whole car ride listening to him cry because "my crocs are wet". Uggg!

I haven't been in the contemporary pool since 1986, so I'm looking forward to the reunion!

I always think that wearing a sundress would be a good idea in the parks because it would be cute and cool, but then I think about getting out of rides like space mountain, and I realize that I really need to be wearing pants of some sort, it is a family park after all! :rotfl2:

That skirt is really adorable! And it looks very comfortable! :thumbsup2

Casey Jr is already giving me an ulcer and we're not even there yet! :crazy2: I didn't even think about having to chase him out of the water when it was time to go. There is no way he is going to leave willingly, and I so don't want to be the mom dragging her screaming child out of the spray zone.

What do you think the chances are I could just leave him there for the entire day, and just pick him up at the end of the night when they turn the water off? :rotfl:

I like your idea of camouflaging Casey Jr behind some bushes. I think we need to plan a late-night covert gardening mission in the MK in order to get it done! :lmao:

Casey Jr is already giving me an ulcer and we're not even there yet! :crazy2:

I am right there with you! Seriously! I am dreading being in that area all because of that stupid splash zone. :headache: I am already mentally preparing myself for a major tantrum. But, I am determined to not give in. If he's kicking & screaming, I will just pick him up & carry him out of Storybook Circus. I don't care how many evil looks I get. :rotfl2:

I didn't even think about having to chase him out of the water when it was time to go. There is no way he is going to leave willingly, and I so don't want to be the mom dragging her screaming child out of the spray zone.

Oh yeah - you know we'd have to go in there to chase down those crazy boys & make them leave. And then we'll get all drenched! And I can just see myself slipping & falling. You definitely need to be careful if you do end up having to go in there. I remember when I was pregnant with Reid, it was nothing for me to trip over my own feet. :sad2:

What do you think the chances are I could just leave him there for the entire day, and just pick him up at the end of the night when they turn the water off? :rotfl:

:lmao: I like the way you think! :thumbsup2 I bet no one would notice! :lmao:

I like your idea of camouflaging Casey Jr behind some bushes. I think we need to plan a late-night covert gardening mission in the MK in order to get it done! :lmao:

Count me in for that mission! We'll get some cute all black outfits & masks. And I'll bring some "Mission Impossible" type music to set the mood! :rotfl2:

Yay for your trip coming up so soon!!! You must be so excited!!!

If it makes you any more excited for your Tony's ADR, I have actually been seeing a bunch of good reviews from there lately! :thumbsup2

That maternity running skirt is really cute! I didn't even know they made them. I bet it'll be perfect for the parks, when you're on your feet for hours at a time.

I always take a break in the afternoon, but it's normally just DH and I, so we can leave and return quickly. I imagine there's a lot more work involved with kids. Naps, unloading and loading strollers, etc. I guess you'll just have to play it by ear and see how tired you (and Everett) are. :confused3

Seems like ths trip will open up the opportunity to do things a little differently, like see the Dapper Dans.

I've heard so many different reviews of Tony's that it's hard to say what your experience will be like, but I can understand the desire to eat at all of WDW restaurants. Such a fun goal, and it gives us frequent visitors something new to try. :goodvibes
