A practically perfect DVC HHI beach trip with a side order of ghosts & drag queens

Subscribing to your thread! We are still planning our trip to HHI for October. Can't wait to hear your report!

Hope I can help with your planning. I am probably going on a picture taking spree all around the resort in the morning.

Hope you enjoyed Mary Poppins! I'm a little jealous that you got to go.......

It was supercalifragalistically fantastic!!!! If you get a chance & it comes anywhere close GO!

Atlanta was wonderful....a great start to our vacation. Mary Poppins exceeded my expectations which were very high. Spending time with my high school friend & her hubby was sooooo great.

We are at Hilton Head now. We got here about 3pm. Lovely unit, but not the great views that you guys have posted---if we had that view we would be ecstatic. We asked if there wasn't something with a better view & there isn't. So for a bit we were feeling like grumpy gills but we went out to have Mellow Mushroom pizza for dinner, made our grocery store run & then went over to the beach house & got our feet in the sand & felt the ocean breeze. Then came back & laid in a hammock overlooking the marsh. After all that & now sitting here sipping a nice glass of vigonier things seem much better.

I can't wait for the ghost tour. We may not eat at Lady & Sons as we've been there before but I will be sure to include where ever we do eat. I'll check the blog link. &

Yesterday was a great day....it was a bit overcast, but we made the best of it.

Today was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. We spent a long time at the beach.

Can't wait for whatever tomorrow holds.

The Ghost Tours are lots of fun. Enjoy them.

Chablis use to drive around in a big pink convertable. I haven't seen it around town in the last few years, but, Chablis is still advertised at Club One. I walked by the place a few weeks ago and the posters are still in the window.

Besides Paula's place, go to Mrs Wilkes. MUCH better food, served family style. 105 W Jones St. Plan on waiting.

If you have never been to Savannah you should go. I will certainly let you know about the ghost tour. Savannah is such a beautiful city!

We have had a fabulous time in Hilton Head. The weather has been sunny except for Monday. We have walked miles on the beach, ridden bikes, seen lots of wildlife, relaxed some & had wonderful meals. Can't believe this part of our trip is almost over. We head to Savannah tomorrow. Why does vacation always go by so fast??????

I just booked a week stay in HH for July. We are DVC members but at this late date - DHH was booked solid minus a 3 bedroom Grand villa.

I have never been to Hilton Head minus 4 hours last July (quick drive through) and would love suggestions on what to do while there and also input on Savannah in regards to restaurants etc.

Can't wait to read more!

Yeah I am sure DVC HH is hard to get into on short notice in the summer. It is not a very big resort.

Just follow along once I get back & I will be talking about lots of places to eat etc.

Plans tonight are dinner in the tavern at the Pink House & our ghost tour.

I'm so glad that I found your TR! My DH, Mom and Mom's best friend were actually there during some of the same time as you. We arrived on the 16th as well and left on the 20th, so it's possible that we may have seen each other! I can't wait to read your report!

Can I ask you how you recommend travelling to/from HHI DVC and Savannah ? Do you prefer via I95 or do you take local routes between Bluffton area and Savannah ? Trying to figure out what's best to do because when we visit HHI in August we'd like to check out Savannah one afternoon.

Hmmmm we went local routes. I just mapquested directions from the DVC address to our hotel in Savannah....I think it took us US-16 or 17, but it is a very quick trip over to Savannah & definetly do-able as a day trip.
