I have a large pot of flowers outside, by my backdoor. It has marigolds, geraniums, impatiens, and also some leafy plant that I am pretty sure could/would be a houseplant.

My question is: Can I bring this entire pot inside the house once it starts to get cold, and if so, would the flowers thrive? Normally these annuals die once the frost strikes outside, but since these are all in one pot and not in the ground, I was thinking it'd be a shame to just let them croak! Is this even possible? I'd love to bring the entire pot inside and have these flowers keep living :)

Thanks for any advice, and at the very least, I'm sure I could transplant at least the leafy plant. (Its got jaggedy shaped leaves with a dark purple velvety look with bright green on the leaves too, if thats any help. lol)

Hi seaspray, nice to see you here.

Your unidentified plant sounds like coleus.
If you have enough sunlight somewhere in your house then you should be able to bring it in.

I had some impatiens bloom all winter in a sunny window. they had "tagged along" in a large bouginvilla tree I bought. it was a pleasant surprise to have them survive. They are close to 2 years old now.

good luck.

Thanks, amid! :)

I had a feeling that my unidentified plant was something very common :teeth:

I definitely will bring the pot indoors and give it a try! :)
