A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

BABY! What a cutie! I also like your shirt. Mickey balloons are wonderful (so long as they're not attached to people who aren't balloon ladies during a race). I'm pretty sure wearing them as jeans is the best way to wear comfy workout clothes.
Yes! He was a little over 6 months old. :lovestruc

That shirt was a Disney Store find (we have one in our mall)! And yeah, as you know, with you on the balloon thing. ::yes::

I love puppy pictures! I adopted my pup (Taffy) when she was a little older, so I'm sad I didn't get to see her during her adorable puppy days. That has not stopped me from taking tons of pictures. Today, I worked from home, and to keep her entertained, I put dog treats in clearance Easter eggs, and watching her do that kept me laughing for hours.

Also, serious #fomo on that rose purse.

Awwwww Taffy! :lovestruc

Aren't dogs just the best?? Archie has enriched our lives so much!

Ahhhhhhh mine is supposed to come on Tuesday! So excited. And now I'm starting to think about the Cogsworth bag...I feel like I'd never use it though.

Hellooooo

First of all...PURSE TALK! T
his *beauty* arrived a few days ago from Harveys.

Some details...the inner liner is pink with the rose, there's a rose charm, and the enchanted mirror is the zipper pull!

And on to running, I guess...

First up for this week - a pair of 3-mile treadmill runs on Monday/Wednesday. Starting to get a little bored with these! I may need to start doing some of these early morning weekday runs outside to mix things up a bit. Of course, I mentioned this to Mr. Ariel484 and he reminded me that part of why I don't run outside at home before work is because it's dark and I get creeped out. :scratchin Soooooo so much for that!

Lifting continues to go well. I'm starting to feel pretty good from it, and it doesn't really bother my back at all anymore, so it doesn't seem like as much of a chore to me.

Friday's run was a little disappointing. I made the mistake of vacuuming beforehand, which is ALWAYS hard on my back, so I was pretty sore throughout the entire run. At least I was wearing a pretty outfit and our house is clean!
34096527441_8d45c2f6a8_z.jpg

Sunday's run was better. I'm starting to accept that right now, to feel better throughout a run, I can't do the intervals/pace that I REALLY want to, so for this run I dropped the run interval down to 2 minutes (where on Friday I did 3:00/1:00 run/walk intervals). This did feel better...my back didn't really feel sore until the last 0.75-0.5 miles or so.
34096527381_ce2617ec4d_z.jpg

It's just weird...like, how your legs get sore after a run? That's what I'm getting. Sort of around my tailbone and up into the middle of my back. Sigh. I do have an appointment to see Dr. Spine (remember him??) but it's not until early July. I keep calling and hoping for cancellations...originally this appointment was for mid-August and through calling I did get it moved to the early July date but lately I haven't had much luck getting it any sooner.

At this point, I've decided to stop my Friday yoga class for the forseeable future...it's too much to do that AND my mid-distance run on the same day for me...I think it makes it harder to recover for the upcoming long run each week. It's too hard on my back. I plan on resuming it after Tink!

And now with Tink just 3 weeks away (!!), I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for these last 2 weeks of training. As written, I have an 11-miler next weekend and a 12-miler the weekend after as part of a Tink "simulation"...but I'm leaning toward moving my simulation up to next week and having that be my peak week, with the week after being a taper week (reducing the mileage) and then the race week after...similar to what Galloway has for the PDC training plan. And by "leaning toward" I mean "I'm 95% sure this is what I want to do." So next week is likely peak week for me!

Speaking of PDC - waivers, courses, etc. came out for Tink weekend a couple of days ago! I wasn't expecting them with Dark Side weekend happening, so that was a nice surprise! I am in Corral B for the half, along with a bunch of other cool DIS-ers! This is pretty much exactly what I was expecting, and I am happy with it. I'm *guessing* I will also be in B for the 10K...but I think there's a shot I will actually be placed in Corral A. We'll see! Corral A would be awesome for the 10K but B is pretty great too.

I need to figure out what to wear. I change my mind like constantly...:scratchin

And lastly, your pup picture for the week...was doing laundry today and turned my back for a minute and he gets a freshly washed pair of socks! :rotfl2: So back into the wash those go!

Have a great week, DIS-friends! :)

Ooh love the purse! Great training week! Love love the mermaids capris!! Your shadow in the jumping photo looks cool. I like your training schedule adjustments! Yay for corral B! Aw look at that cute sock thief's face!

Have a great week, DIS-friends! :)

Between that amazing Harvey's purse and Archie, I'm not able to focus on the running part of your post! Harvey's continues to impress - those details are incredible! And, of course, your purse will be indestructible. I was at an event last night and my friend inadvertently crushed the Harvey's I brought along (black mini messenger) with a chair. She was so apologetic, but I told her no worries - it's indestructible!

Yay for Corral B and the in-corral Dis meet that is bound to occur! I so wish I was going to be there! I'm running a local half the day before and I think I'll wear my tink-inspired outfit that day in honor of your race! :)

And time for my question - if you have any recommendations regarding downtown Cleveland hotels and/or restaurants, that would be great! :)

I love your Harvey's purse. I could never do white. I would mess it up. I'll have to live vicariously through you. Love this week's pup pic! Congrats on 'B'eing in the BEAUTIFUL BEST [INSERT B ADJECTIVES HERE] Corral!

It's actually a very, very light blue...but I can't get that to show up in pics, of course.

And here I am the next day, like "...do I really NEED this bag?? Especially since I have the Rose bag coming?" :upsidedow I am so indecisive...

And thanks for the BEAUTIFUL BEST BLESSINGS!

I can't believe Tink is <3 weeks away... Where did April (and March) go?? I think whichever taper method you pick will be fine- I liked having a little time off with the Galloway, I was maybe more excited to run after having that time off...

I love your leggings from Friday's run! Cute Cute!

And as always, any picture of Archie is a winner!

Bring on Peak Week!!!
 I need to get myself pumped up for it!!
Ooh love the purse!
I think it's so pretty! I like the size too...and it has metal feet on the bottom which I LOVE with purses. I just feel like they put in a lot of nice details.
Great training week! Love love the mermaids capris!! Your shadow in the jumping photo looks cool.
I love the mermaid capris too! I actually have a second pair set aside for me at INKnBURN Headquarters in a slightly different color scheme (orange/pink/purple) and I am picking them up during Tink weekend...one can never have too many pairs of mermaid capris. :) I thought the shadows was cool too...we're getting some sunny days here!!
I like your training schedule adjustments!
I do too...this week will be a test but overall I am...relieved, I guess, to have made the change. ::yes::
Yay for corral B! Aw look at that cute sock thief's face!
He was quite pleased with himself! :rotfl2:
Yay on being Corral B! That is awesome! Glad you had a decent training week! Love the new purse!
Yes, I am so happy to be in Corral B! :yay: Hope your ankle is doing well and good luck with your surgery!!
Between that amazing Harvey's purse and Archie, I'm not able to focus on the running part of your post!
Purses and puppies are WAY more important.

YES! :worship: That's like 90% of the reason I sold all of my Dooneys and switched to Harveys - I eventually got afraid to even use my Dooneys because I felt like they were so delicate, or something? And yes with the details! I think they added a lot of nice touches to make the bags special. :)

Glad your MM is okay, but not surprised, like you said! Woohoo Harveys!!
Yay for Corral B and the in-corral Dis meet that is bound to occur! I so wish I was going to be there! I'm running a local half the day before and I think I'll wear my tink-inspired outfit that day in honor of your race! :)
Yep, we're gonna need a DIS-meet picture I think! A Tink-inspired outfit for your half sounds like a great idea! :tinker:
And time for my question - if you have any recommendations regarding downtown Cleveland hotels and/or restaurants, that would be great! :)
Hmmmm...for hotels, the only ones I have stayed at Downtown are the Marriott at Key Center and the Wyndham by Playhouse Square - both were pretty nice.

Restaurants - we like Osteria de Valerio & Al (Italian), Barrio (Tacos!) and Hyde Park (steakhouse, a little pricey). Iron Chef Michael Symon has a couple of restaurants that are supposed to be pretty good, but we haven't tried them yet - Lola ("new American" cuisine) and Mabel's (BBQ - this place is pretty new so it may be tough to get into, I'm not sure if the newness has worn off yet). E 4th street downtown is a fun area, that's where Lola and Mabel's are located and there are also a few coffee places, bars, etc. It's a fun place to walk around when the weather is nice - cars aren't allowed to go down that street so it's very pedestrian-friendly. If you are looking for Cleveland souvenirs (assuming your son chooses the CLE for college!) I recommend checking out CLE Clothing Co, also on E 4th street. They have fun stuff there. :) AND I also recommend taking in a Tribe game if the Indians are in town!! And one last thing - not sure when your visit is but the Cavs are in the playoffs, so you may want to check your schedule against the playoff schedule - downtown is always pretty busy when the Cavs are in town, especially during the playoffs. Hope this helps!!

I know!! I can't believe it's almost May already, just crazy!

Yeah, I think I will enjoy the taper for sure...I think mentally it's helpful to know that this weekend's long run is my last before the race, and physically I KNOW I will appreciate the extra rest! ::yes::
I love your leggings from Friday's run! Cute Cute!
Thank yoouuuuu they are my favorite!!
And as always, any picture of Archie is a winner!
:) I agree but I am a little biased![/QUOTE]

Loving the peeling paint shirt with the mermaid capris! The jump shot is perfect. Maybe the spring in those shorts helped you out.

I love all the little touches on the Havey's bag. So nice.

TINKERBELL WEEKEND IS SO CLOSE!!! It would be awesome if you land in A for the 10K. Fingers crossed for you. Even if I were to get an A in the 10K, I'd be starting B with Chris since he can't get an A assignment. He's dropped back for me before, so the least I can do right? ;)

I hope that you can score an earlier appointment with Dr. Spine. I know you were pleased with him and maybe he can help get you over the last of your recovery. Seems smart to move up peak week and give yourself a good taper before race weekend since you are still fighting some soreness. No reason to push too hard and hurt yourself.

The sock thief is adorable!! And loving that throw!! I really need to do that.

I probably need to make sure to pack those spring shorts for Tink weekend!

I agree, the attention to detail is impressive!

AHHH I KNOW! I'm not sure how the 10K corrals will work out - I feel like they won't EXACTLY line up with the half marathon corrals just because Corral A is so small for the half marathon...but looking again at my bib number and the corrals for the half, I have a feeling I will stay in B for the 10K. Which is still good!

That is very kind of your to drop back for Chris! :love2: I think it is SO LAME that they don't let men into the Elite Corral and corral A. :rolleyes2 I get that it's a women-focused race but why have people submit times if they're not going to 100% stick to those submissions? And I know they do it because they want a woman to cross the finish line first, but there's still almost always a man that has the fastest overall time...just seems silly. Aaaaanyway...

I hope so too. I wouldn't say I super urgently need to see him but before July would be nice!

Actually, your thread helped me with the training plan switch! I saw you were tapering and I was a little jealous...and then I was like, "...duh, maybe I should do that!" :thumbsup2 So thank you!! :yay:
The sock thief is adorable!! And loving that throw!! I really need to do that.
He IS adorable!!

I am planning on getting another race shirt quilt made after Tink, but this one will be ALL runDisney shirts. Very excited!! :)

That purse is beautiful. OMG.

I cannot imagine running after vacuuming. Vacuuming takes so much out of me (I don't know why) ... I always just want to lounge around and do nothing for like an hour after I vacuum. But having a clean house is always nice, and your outfit is awesome!

I like the idea of moving up your Tink simulation. At this point in time, you can definitely do the distance, even with fewer long runs. The long runs will, unfortunately, likely annoy your back a little bit. So it's probably not a bad idea to cut down on the long runs. Having a little extra taper time certainly won't hurt :).

Yay for being in the best corral, corral B! It sounds like that's where the party's going to be. I expect to see lots of DIS meetup pictures in the trip report!

Beautiful bag! I am not gentle on my purses and that pretty white bag would be a hot mess within a week! But I love the print!
Congrats on Corral B! :yay: Those photo op lines will be way shorter and less course crowding!
UGH on not being able to get in to see your Dr until July! He must be really popular!
Best of luck with peak week this week! You can do it! Hope it all goes well. I just got back from Dark Side (SO much fun!), and I did my peak week 3 weeks before the race for various life reasons and I was more than fine.

And not only did I vacuum, but I was THOROUGH about it - moved furniture around and everything. Sometimes I get an impulse to clean clean clean and when I do I try to just go with it (because I do love having a clean house!) but the timing was definitely off that day.

Yeah, I am...relieved by the decision, I guess? I feel like "relief" is a sort of weird reaction to have and a definite sign that taking a break from longer runs is a good idea once Tink is over. And I am definitely looking forward to the extra taper time!

BEAUTIFUL BRAVE BEST corral! :yay:
Beautiful bag! I am not gentle on my purses and that pretty white bag would be a hot mess within a week! But I love the print!
So...confession time - I don't have the bag anymore! :rotfl2: I sold it to someone else on Facebook (if it didn't sell I would have just returned it to Harveys...this way I don't have to pay for return shipping and I get my money a lot faster!). I felt guilty for buying 2 bags so at least now I don't feel that guilty anymore!
Congrats on Corral B! :yay: Those photo op lines will be way shorter and less course crowding!
Thanks! Maybe I actually should take advantage of those shorter lines and stop for some fairy pics?
UGH on not being able to get in to see your Dr until July! He must be really popular!
Yeah, I guess so! I was very surprised! I think they give newer patients priority with him (which explains why I was able to get an appointment so quickly when I originally hurt myself - grateful for that!)...but I'm definitely just going to keep setting up follow-ups after each appointment from now on. I never expected a 3-4 month wait!
Best of luck with peak week this week! You can do it! Hope it all goes well. I just got back from Dark Side (SO much fun!), and I did my peak week 3 weeks before the race for various life reasons and I was more than fine.
Thank you!! Glad to hear that the taper worked out for you! :thumbsup2

So glad you had fun this past weekend! It sounded like things ran a lot more smoothly compared to last year. :)

But, good to get rid of any guilt. Plus frees up money for more purchases you can share with us. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

When the bags came up for sale I was torn on that one and figured I could just order it, see it in person, and then return if I felt guilty over having it or didn't think I'd use it...so at least I know and didn't lose any money on it (actually made a whopping $2 since it didn't cost as much to ship as I expected...it's currently sold out on the website and only took an hour or so to sell on Facebook, and the person who got it seems very happy, like she will enjoy it WAY more than I would have, so win-win)! I did like it better in person vs. what I saw on the website and do still think it's really pretty and appreciate all of the detail that went into it...

But I still have the Rose bag coming and am certain I will keep that one, so I felt guilty getting - and keeping - 2 bags, especially with Disneyland coming up. :confused3

Sidenote: It has been interesting watching the Facebook pages with the Rose bag...it sold out in something crazy like 45 seconds on the Harveys website. People have been getting theirs (mine took almost 48 hours to ship for some reason and I'll be getting it today) and then putting them up for auction, and they are selling for a good chunk over retail. Just crazy!

But mostly I just need to work on NOT feeling like I need to buy things right when they come out. FOMO has a hold on me! :rolleyes2
