A "Pimp" costume for Grade 4? Really??

I know there's truth in jest, but I think that if a kid wears a "pimp" costume, I don't think he's gonna be selling weed and prostitutes when he gets older. Kids who are sheltered are more likely to rebel, right? Exactly. I don't think what you dress up as for halloween effects your life. But I could be wrong.

A commercial "pimp" Halloween costume:

My DS(7) wanted to have this costume, but he didn't call a pimp costume. He said he wanted to dress like a disco guy. Even started doing some disco dancing in the store. He also wanted to have his little sister wear the disco dress.

So here's a ? My 2nd grader has to disguise a turkey for Thanksgiving. He wants to do it old school Rap style. Gold teeth, ball cap, low slung jeans and big chains. I thought it was pretty funny. But is that inappropriate? I tend to miss the memo on what is or isn't inappropriate.

And I love Pee Wee. Paul Ruben is a funny guy. I have to say I even find what he was arrested for as a little funny. I remember when it happened and almost immediately I got a phone call at work that said "I know you are but what am I"
