A Overplanner's Pre-Trip Report

The binder is so cute! Your rating system sheets sound great - why didn't I think of that? :teeth:

Sorry to hear about your bad day and bad news at work. Hope everything is okay.

Let us know how the doctor appointment goes for your ankle.

Well, I was shopping at Target on Sunday and found this little beauty to go with it:
minnienotebook.jpg

I like their films, but when it comes to stuff I'm not a big fab five fan (aside from a couple of Mickey Pins, only stuff I've ever bought with them are some Bicentennial folders I picked up in 1976 :rotfl: ), however I do like that Minnie set. :thumbsup2

Hope your ankle gets to feeling better, and so sorry about your awful day at work.

Don't forget to send us the address for your article!

Yay for less than a month til your trip!!! That's so exciting!!! :cool1:

I'm super excited about it!! I can't believe how quick the time has gone by!!

The sheets are easy to do. I didn't decorate them, so it's mostly just words. LOL!

I'm not much for the Fab Five. I love Eeyore. I like the Minnie because she has glasses on like me and that's very rare to find them with anything other than their regular looks.

Okay, so for the never ending saga on my ankle.

So, I get to the doctor's office this morning and I'm standing and waiting to check in. She told me that my appointment was yesterday. Uh, no it wasn't. I called back and rescheduled it for today. So, she pushes a few keys and wonder of wonders, there it is. I swear if my doctor wasn't so wonderful I would have told them off a long time ago.

I told her what was going on and she said that she would have a talk with her staff. Not sure if I believe it or not, but hey at least I feel better.

Okay, I explained to her that I don't feel like the mobic isn't working for me. My ankle is still throbbing and it's hard to sleep. So, she prescribed me Duexis. That's what they gave me right after I hurt it and it worked wonders! The best part is that she gave me a card that make the prescription even cheaper with insurance. I paid $20 for it. Finally something nice! LOL!! Luckily she has problems with her ankles so she understood. I'm glad I saw her instead of the nurse practioner this time. She knows me and knows that I don't ask for medicine just to take a pill. LOL! She did do more bloodwork just so she can run my numbers again.

Oh and I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I got my pnuemonia shot today at the doctor's office!! Yay!!!

Oh and if anyone would like for me to PM the link to my article I wrote, just let me know and I will send it to you!! I'm so weird. LOL!!

Well, I'm off to work on my binder and catch up on other peoples trip reports.

I just caught up can't believe this time next month we will be in Disney :cool1: . We will be at AK the same day I will have my LGMH, since we both are over planners I am sure we will bump into each other:thumbsup2. Maybe your DH would change his mind about the KTTW. The KTTW is safer that potentially loosing the gift cards we have always use them and if you lose them they are really easy to deactivate and activate a new one. I also been doing quite a bit of shopping mostly online and I had to stop because I lost track of everything I've order :scared1:, so no more shopping for me until I figure it out. I hope your ankle feels better soon .
I been thinking about the flu shot I never get it, but I am deadly afraid of needles. I can't decide what is worst being sick or the needle, ugh if I could only get rid of this irrational fear. Glad to hear you got that done.

I'm glad you told the doctor about the problems you've been having with the staff. Having worked for a doctor in the past, I can tell you sometimes they have *no clue* what goes on with their staff when they're not around.

So glad you got the card to make the prescription cheaper. Sometimes medication is so expensive, I honestly don't know how people afford it! Good thinking to go ahead and get the flu shot - I'm going to get mine after we get back. I'll pester DH, but he won't get one. :sad2: Is Mike like that?

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! pixiedust:

I would be nice if we met or saw each other at AK. I'll be the one carrying the blue and tan backpack and riding in an ECV. LOL!!

I need to get a flu shot. Simply because I get terribly sick if I don't. My immune system sucks and as such I've got to do it. LOL!!

Same with the pnuemonia shot. I used to be like you. Terrified of needles, but after getting all my allergy shots and such I've gotten used to them. Plus, the needles at Target don't seem to hurt as much. Although my pharmacist is awesome so maybe that has something to do with it. LOL!!

Mike isn't like that. He's actually the one that brought the paperwork home. He knows that I get it the worst and he hates when I'm sick so he gets all of us taken care of. LOL! Even Chris isn't bad about getting the flu shot. At the first of September, he was like, "Mom, when are we going to get our flu shot?" I've got my guys trained. LOL!!

Okay, so once again I overdid it yesterday. I guess I'm expecting more than I should.

See, my ankle was hurting all morning yesterday. So, what did I do? I went shopping. Well, I went to Michael's. Cause I was looking for some things for the trip. I didn't find most of what I was looking for, but I did find some orange pumpkins that I'm going to use to make Mickey heads out of. Well, the Michael's is in the same shopping center as Target. As I said my ankle was feeling better so I decided to walk it.

Big mistake. Because my ankle started hurting and I ended up using one of their carts. :crazy2:

Oh and the school system here has a website that you can go and check on different things for your kids. Well, one of them is attendance. Well, they already have the time off for our vacation in there. So, those days are taken care of. Now all we have to do is get the work that he needs to makeup for those days. We have time in the airport so I plan on having him do some while we are waiting. Hopefully he won't have to bring too many of his books. LOL!!

Still haven't decided on what to do for my birthday dinner. I'm leaning towards celebrating when we get to Disney, but I can't decide. LOL!! I'm sure I will when it's gets closer, but I have to decide soon. LOL!!

Mickeys out of pumpkins sound cute! I'm gonna yell at you, though. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WALKING!?!?? :confused3

Okay, rant over. Did you get anything cute at Target? :teeth:

I definitely think you should have your birthday dinner at Disney! So many good choices there, and you can eat at a "home" restaurant any old time. ;) Just my .02 cents worth. :)

I might end up drawing the Mickey heads on the pumpkins with a sharpie marker. I'm going to try it on one and see how it looks. If I don't like it then I'll rethink it. LOL!!

LOL!! I was trying to see how my ankle felt. Apparently I overdid it and I've realized that it's not a good thing. LOL!! I know, I know. Bad idea. LOL!! I won't make that mistake again.

I did get some spider web wall art. It was in the Halloween section. It's clear so I can put it on the windows to decorate them. I figure between those and the Mickey pumpkins I'll have a nice looking window.

I'm definitely leaning towards eating someplace nice at Disney. Just need to figure out where. LOL!!

I was going to let you off with, "Well, at least she didn't go to Hobby Lobby" (around here, HL is four times the size of an local Michael's). But then you went to Target. :sad2:

But I'll give you points for using the ECV there. That's taking good care of yourself! :thumbsup2

If you don't do it on your birthday, make sure you do get around to it. I just remembered we put my birthday dinner off for some reason, and it still hasn't happened yet -- and my birthday is in MARCH! :rotfl2: Although my BD dinner is not really a big deal; we get Chinese at this hole-in-the-wall because it reminds me of this little place we went the most when we first met. Although the one here is not nearly as nice, to be honest; if we tried harder to find a place that is as nice as the one in Colorado, maybe I'd be more motivated to make sure we got there! :p

Hope your ankle is feeling better. :flower3:

Ugh - Sorry your ankle is still bothering you so much. That's got to be so frustrating.

I definitely think you should celebrate your birthday in the world. I celebrated mine a few days early during one of my May trips and the highlight was having the waiters at Via Napoli sing to me. Boy did I blush! :rotfl2:

I made a reservation for Via Napoli this morning!! I realized that we didn't have one reservation at Italy and we love it there!! So, I guess I'll celebrate my birthday there. Plus, I also realized that we weren't going to be going to Epcot until Wednesday and that is just unacceptable. LOL! It's our favorite park and it just won't do. LOL!!

Seriously? I got a call from my doctor today. Apparently my blood sugar was elevated on my last bloodwork. So, they want me to come in tomorrow to have an a1c test done. It looks like they think I might have diabetes.

Seriously? What else in my body is going to fail? First my kidneys. Then my ankle and now this. Sometimes I just want to give up. I hope it was just a fluke, but I seriously doubt it. That's just my life.

DH did tell me today that he's finally getting excited about the trip. I'm glad. I was starting to worry that it was just me. LOL!

Chris won't get excited until right before we go. That's just my son. LOL!!

going to go mope now. LOL!

It looks like they think I might have diabetes.

Oh, no! Well, the good thing about diabetes is that it's fairly easy to find a specialist and they really do know how to minimize the damage. The bad thing is that managing it well is time consuming and daily. But dealing with it is nothing like as miserable as dialysis and some of the other things associated with kidney disease, at least!

Chris won't get excited until right before we go. That's just my son. LOL!!

My eldest son is the same way. Shows no interest at all until the last minute, then suddenly wants me to track down for him all the stuff he "didn't want" a week or so earlier. But at least he does get excited -- I have to beg eldest daughter for an opinion even after she's seen something, and the best I'm going to get is "okay" (which is everything from "not bad" to "I really hated that, but won't admit it until you ask me to go again") or "I liked it" (which is everything from "pretty good" to "best ever"). :sad2:

Darn the blood sugar thing! I hope it all works out ok... not that you need one more thing to deal with.

Yay for your birthday reservation at Via Napoli! :thumbsup2 Should be really good and you get an EPCOT day. :)

Take care!

Sorry to hear about your blood sugar being elevated. Definitely get your A1C done and get a glucose monitor. That way you can test at different parts of the day and see what you blood sugar is in the morning and the evening. They will start by putting you on a low carb diet and probably an oral medication.

 So glad you decided to celebrate your birthday at Via Napoli! I've read such good things about it, I know you're going to enjoy it!
