Today was an absolutely gorgeous day! Decided to spend the day at Epcot again. I arrived late morning and tried a few more festival foods. It was packed today! I wanted to try more but World Showcase was worse than I-4.

First up, I had been dying to try the Remy milkshake at Sunshine Seasons. I think I had high expectations because I tried the strawberry cheesecake ice cream that was the completer prize for Emile’s fromage montage a few years ago. It was delicious and I wished I could’ve gotten another one. This was… not that. The strawberry cheesecake milkshake is topped with whipped cream, a sugar cookie, a mini cheese cake, a chocolate medallion, a chocolate Eiffel Tower, and a half of a strawberry. The mini cheese cake was the best part. It was light with perfect cheesecake flavor. The chocolates were fine, standard Disney garnish. The strawberry was fresh. Would’ve liked a whole one. The cookie was… not good. Bland, and somehow both chewy and crunchy? It reminded me of a crunchy cookie that had gotten stale. The fondant on it had no flavor at all, and I mistook it for paper at first. The strawberry cheesecake milkshake tasted more like strawberry milk. I didn’t taste cheesecake at all. The consistency was right for a milkshake but again, flavor was a bit lacking considering how it was advertised. I so wanted to love this. The presentation is fantastic. But at $10.99, I’d rather have another filet mignon. Was not worth the price in my opinion. Parts were good and parts were just okay. I probably would not order this again. Maybe if it were $3-4 less.

Speaking of filet mignon, I finally made it to the Canada booth! In all the times I’ve been to F&W, I’d never tried the cheese soup or the filet mignon. This plate did not disappoint! Everything was delicious!
The steak was cooked well, with just a hint of pink in the center. Not over done and not undercooked, though I do prefer my meat to be on the done side. The steak was juicy, savory, and had zero fat. It was so tender I didn’t even need a knife. I just bit into it. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well, and I think the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten. The mushrooms were nice with a bit of a brown gravy. This was excellent, and I wish I’d got 2. If the line hadn’t been so long, I would’ve went back for another.
The cheese soup was also very good. You could taste the bacon and cheese. Neither was overpowering. The other seasonings were also good. The pretzel roll was soft on the inside with a bit of crunch on the outside, just as a pretzel should be. Again, I could’ve had 2 of these. I’ll definitely be booking a meal at Le Cellier, so watch out for that if you’re following along on my adventures.
I’m not sure if I’ll get back to Epcot before F&W ends. I have MVMCP tickets for November 16, and I’m busy the last weekend of the festival. I wish I could’ve tried more things. There’s always next year to look forward to.
