We have all heard the rumors and plans for a new WDW theme park. I just thought it would be fun to toss around our ideas for a new park. Here is what to include:
1.) The name of the park and it's theme
2.) The center Icon of the park (i.e. Castle, Spaceship Earth, Tree of life...etc.)
3.) Some "main attraction" rides you would include

Your point is very true. They have lots of room and of course are always thinking about what to do next. Here is what I would like to see.

Name- Disney Classic
Main Icon- I am not sure about this one. Something that makes you think about nostalgia.
Main Attraction(s)- Since this is a Disney Classic park, let's bring back all of our favorite rides from the past. Dream Flight, Horizons, the original Journey Into Imagination just to name a few.

19 day dance to head down to POP :cool1:  :cool1: :cheer2:

For me it would be

VILLANS

Snow White's Castle or Malefacent (sp)'s castle

Main Attraction? Lots of Roller Coasters... WHEEEE!

I agree with Ursula about a villains park. Disney has to do something to keep people away from Universal...lol.

I know WDW is on like 47 square miles or something... but I think I remember reading something about much of the land is preserved for something or another.

But if I could choose what the next park could be.. I don't think I could. LOL I guess I better not apply for that Imagineer's job! ;)

i totally agree!!! :goodvibes the rumor of the "Villain Kingdom", just sounds so cool to me, with roller coasters. it doesn't have to have villain in the name though - some might think that to be too scary pirate: for the little ones. maybe something with heros in it or something??? :confused3

but this would be for the roller coster lover.

Rides:
i think of an ursula ride - a water roller coaster (like splash mountain is) where you get wet, and in the end king tritan and the mermaids/mermen save the day.

maybe another with marlin and dorie & the sharks? you know like when they smell "blood" and forget about their "fish are friends, not food" anthem.

a 3D ride like the mummy or spiderman for an aladin & genie vs. jaffar ride

scar vs mufasa & simba, incredibiles vs syndrome? dueling dragons style??

maybe something for the little ones, like a playground area, like the honey i shrunk the kids playground, where kids can be the hero of the story. like hercules, genie, incredibles, etc.

i could think of quite a few if you give me some more time to put more thought into it... :listen:

i loooooooooove roller coasters. :cheer2: :scared1:

i have no idea what the icon for this would be though... :confused3 would have to think about that one more... :wizard:

this was a good poll to get me wishing about another disney park, as if they had to do anything else to keep me coming back to the parks... :earboy2:

Just a note, during my trip two weeks ago now :guilty: DBF and I were talking to a CM while waiting for Spectro to begin and he explained to us that when Disney first built MK, their contract with the state of Florida stated that they must leave at least 20% of their land undeveloped. SOOO...each time Disney adds on to a park or in this case, builds a new one, they must go out and purchase more land that they don't use so that they will meet their 20% requirement.

I thought that was interesting info!

1.) The name of the park and it's theme: REALITY BITES / Reality TV Park
2.) The center Icon of the park (i.e. Castle, Spaceship Earth, Tree of life...etc.) - THE FIREPIT
3.) Some "main attraction" rides you would include: The Bachelor; Survivor, etc, You get the point!

1. name of park: im not really sure as im not really god at things like that but something based on thrill rides and roller coasters etc.
2. icon: something like a dragon/ mythical creature but definatly NO DINOSAURS!!!
2. rides: anything which people have mentioned on here (monster inc. type ride, finding nemo type ride, a rollercoaster on lilo and stitck where you go surfing, etc.)

:)
happy yay
:)

As tinkerbellmagic stated, WDW should do something to pull some of the business from Universal. WDW lacks the marketing pull to draw families with teenagers. WDW should move to being a park for ALL ages....given the current offerings teens get the short end of the stick. A family oriented thrill-ride park is in order....

Disney's Screamination

A theme park where you are treated as an animated character. You get "tagged" with a character (of about your age) at the beginning of the day and you experience the thrill rides as an animated character might...visuals on the rides can show how, as you get pushed back in your seat....your "animated self" becomes crushed like a pancake...

Several tie-ins (gotta have good marketing tie-ins):

Disney Villains (as mentioned in other posts) - a "land" devoted to villains-related rides;

ESPN X-Games - also could be a land filled with x-games themed thrill rides.

Pirates - How could we not have a bit of Captain Sparrow and the Black Pearl?

An area in the park suitable for younger children would also be appropriate (I'm thinking a Goofy theme)

At the center of the park....A giant 3-dimensional holographic image of a Disney Villain...which can be changed periodically (can also be tied into changes in story line for the rest of the park).

I've never been to WDW and I am going June 12th but from all the research I've done it looks like WDW has no rollercoasters except the one in MGM. Most of the rides look like sit down rides where you ride and watch like It's a Small World nothing that will make you say, " WOW, that was intense!". I am going for 14 days to only WDW with a 9, 13, & 15 year old who never been to theme parks like WDW, only ones like Six Flags or Dorney Park. I think they should make a park for teens and other people who like rollercoasters and intense rides because after awhile I think my kids would get bored of sitting down and watching and want to get on rides that make you feel like you got butterflies in your gut, thats what they like, something like Universal but with a Disney theme. It does not have to have animals or movies incorporated like Animal Kingdom or MGM just something simple or regular but with rollercoasters and rides you want to ride over and over again.

i don't know about this... Reality TV gets boring after awhile. in the beginning, i used to watch mtv's road rules, etc. but now, i don't like them... the bachelor? survivor? wife swap? parent swap?

not sure if this would appeal to a large crowd...

I love the idea of a park with more thrill rides, and throwing in villians as a major theme to it. I wonder how they would be able to break up the park into different lands. The problem with the pixar movies is that most of them don't have a true villian. Nemo didn't, Toy Story didn't, Monsters Inc. had one, but that is about it. So they will have to dive back into some of the older films for their villians.

I actually tend to agree with the side that says that Disney Theme Parks are ok without the thrill rides. However, I do think that Disney could afford a thrill park (or two) that are more half-day parks

I would suggest first opening Disney's Coney Island as the fourth "area" of DTD past Cirque. This would look like an actual island, with a small "city area" around it and, eventually, Disney's Metropolitan resort, complete with rooftop pool. As for the park, have a faithful copy of the Cyclone, traditional classic Coney Island Rides, two dark rides (a Princess tunnel of love, and a Spook House that turns into a Monsters, Inc. ride somewhat in the vein of the new one for DCA - although I swear I had the idea before they brought it up! :smooth: ), etc. It would be top-designed versions, however, with white lights everywhere and a small staff that changes the lights daily. Also have recreation of the Coney Island parachute tower at the tip of the island (in the lake) that is a more thrilling drop version of the classic parachute ride.

Second, I would put a thrill park attached to the Wide World of Sports. Named something along the lines of XZone (although I don't like that name), this will serve as a showground for new, intense ride technology. Divided into major zones depending on effect, areas would include G-Force Zone, Fall Zone, Inversion Zone, Speed Zone, etc. Each would have one or two major attractions. While the rides will be more Six-Flags in nature, they park will be very nicely landscaped with interactive displays everywhere (that are safe). It also, ala Epcot, will have an area in each Zone that displays what those forces do to your body. Each attraction will also have a large "Chicken Stands" area where people can simply sit and watch. The largest area will be the Test Zone. Developed as a partnership between major ride development companies, they will be able to erect finished concept designs (like Huss's Frisbees, Top Spins, the Arrow pipeline coaster, etc.). WDI will design the area itself, and the companies will provide the rides (independently or with financial help from Disney, depending on Disney's position on it). Note this will not be a major Coaster Park but rather a thrill seekers park wtih small foot-print rides. That way, technology can be exchanged quickly, and it will not operate as a major detraction from the other parks.
