:confused3 I am wondering what rides are most busy during the Christmas Party. :santa: We plan on going to MVMCP on a Tuesday night but will also be spending another day at the MK. Trying to decide which rides to focus on for our day visit and which rides we will most likely be on during MVMCP.

Thanks!!
Michelle

I've only been a couple of times but it seems that the Fantasyland rides are always the most crowded followed by the Tomorrowland. Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pooh and Indy Raceway had very long lines. We were able to walk right on to Splash and Thunder Mountains.

I've been to the Party twice. One time Peter Pan had a horrible line and the other we got right on. The same for Snow White and It's a Small World. Haunted Mansion has typically been short as well as Pirates of the Caribbean. Pooh seemed to have a longer line. I think it really depends on the crowd. We were suprised at the differences between the two years. You can't really plan on which will be busiest, it's hard to tell.

It looked like Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh had the longest lines when we were there.

go there for the shows. not the rides. you paid $40 extra to go there so see all of the shows. you can always rides the rides but the christmas shows are very magical. we went to 2 MVMCP last year and 1 day we went to see all of the charactors and the second time we went to see all of the shows. the parade and the christmas wishes fireworks are a must. it snows on main street for the parade. but this is just what i like to do. i hope this helps

when we there back in December, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland were definately the most packed. More specifically Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Dumbo were the longest waits being about 45-60 minutes long.

One time we headed into Fantasyland right at 7:00 when it reopened, walked on Pooh. Hit all those rides first, while alot of people are waiting for the first parade.

There are some rides that are closed during MVMCP. The only one I can think of right now is Jungle Cruise. So, I would plan to ride those rides on you MK day.

I'm really glad to read this on here. This is what we were thinking when we were discussing our plans for 2006. We have been to MK a few times and at least once during that trip, but what we can't get any other time is the shows and characters.

I really love the characters. Are there many out and about that are not usually? Is it possible to hit the characters and the shows or am I over enthusiastic?

Can someone post a link to the shows that are available during mvmcp? Also are any of these shows available every day and therefore you can skip them that night?
thanks Diane

This is what we did. You can ride the rides anytime but the shows and other special things are not.:santa:

Hey Michelle! :)

I see you have already gotten quite a few responses which is great. I think you can have your cake and eat it too. It sounds to me like your a ride lover, so am I and my family. A couple of folks are telling you to do the shows and they are great! You have to see the X-mas parade and also Wishes fireworks show for certain (It's a special holiday version of wishes). If you have any kids, snow falls down on mainstreet which is also a must.

But...... you can have your cake and eat it too. If you go twice. Last year, my family went twice (once on Sunday and again on Thusday) in early December. The first time we went for the shows and they were great. After the fireworks presentation it's about 10pm and you still have 2 more hours to do rides if you prefer, however you could spend the entire night doing the special holiday stuff. Or you could come back a second night and do the rides all night long from 7-midnight. I know you might think, twice...ugghh ($$). I rationalized it because I love to ride the attractions with little or no wait. So the second night we went that's what I was paying for, not the shows and such.

I realize some nights of the party are going to be more crowded than others. We like to go in early December when the crowds aren't that bad at all. Maybe 10-15K people in the park. I know that may sound like a lot but, relatively speaking it's not. Not when you consider that a busy day in the MK can hold 80-90K people, 15K is nothing. Most of them are on mainstreet and Tommorowland anyways. Fantaslyand has a few poeple as well but, by and large, the rides were all walk-ons or very short 5-10 min waits.

I have read that later in the month (as it approaches Christmas) the party gets very crowded. So I guess it's like everything else at Disney... it varys by the day.

Have fun planning your trip!! :goodvibes

We just went Dec 05 for an eve visit to MK on our way to our cruise. We walked on all of the rides! Getting throught the park was extremely difficult, because it was wall to wall people and roped off streets for most of the night. Everyone seemed to be there just to watch the parade and fireworks repetitively! But after getting creative in getting through the crowd, we watched part of the parade, caught the fireworks on the run, and went on several rides with no wait. We were the only ones in our car on Splash Mountain, as well as the car in front of us had only two riders. Space Mountain was no wait, Haunted Mansion was almost empty. :wizard:

Just subscribing to the thread. We will be there for Opening Night of the MVMCP, at least I hope!!!! How busy is that night? So there are two parades and sets of fireworks? Does it snow both times? Of course I really don't care much about the snow since I live in MA, but it would definately add to the magic I think. :wizard:

It snows real, live snow from the rooftops on main street continuously :yay:
I don't remember the snow during the parade, but it's possible :confused3
Christmas music, period costumes, hot chocolate and cookies - it's Magical!

Two parades, one fireworks show.

It 'snows' periodically through the night usually at the beginning and during the parades.

It's fake, bubble/foam snow, so DON'T eat it!!

Can someone also tell me if the last night of the party is the busiest/most crowded? We are going the week before Christmas (16-23) and will probably only be able to catch the last night or maybe the Sunday night? I heard somewhere else on this board that they will have one the Sunday night and the last night will be on Tuesday? Which night would be best for us? The Sunday or the last night on Tuesday??? Help me decide!? First Christmas trip to WDW!! :woohoo:

The week you are going the crowds will most likely be light the first half of your trip and then build gradually until you leave (you're leaving at the perfect time if you ask me. I LOVE Disney but you couldn't pay me to be there the week of Christmas. It's packed!! Busiest time of the year!) I would say either day will be fine for you. Tuesday tends to be a little less crowded than Sunday. The only fear I have for you is that, if that is the last party it may very well be packed. With that being said, your best bet would probably be Sunday.

Regardless of the night you go, even if it is busier than other nights of the party, you'll have fun. You can't go to Christmas time at WDW and not do the party! :cool1:

Have fun planning your trip!! :goodvibes
