After an endless parade of swallowtails, dragonflies and bees, a Monarch finally visited my garden. It fed in the higher branches and was really camera-shy, so I didn't get any spectacular shots. I sure was glad to finally have one though. It was such a treat....:D

Indeed, what a treat!! :) Very nice, Olena! Is that a butterfly bush it's lighted on? :)

Sure is. That's what they've been flocking to.

Ooooo... very nice :-)

Since we've moved up to Rockford we've seen tons of Butterflies this summer. They just weren't around where we moved from like they are here. Maybe I'll have to plant a butterfly bush or two to encourage them to stop by our house. How tall do they get?

I took a virtual visit to your garden [website]...I just love looking at your photos! Thanks for sharing them! :sunny:

This forum has such a nice Karma...I'm glad I dropped by. :)

Olena, I just visited your garden website and your pictures are just gorgeous! I especially love your glads! And the pretty butterflies remind me of the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Ontario! :)

Oh how exciting Heather. Your pics are great. Keep em coming!

Having a new visitor to photograph is such a challenge. They always seem to go to the tippity top of the butterfly bush. Just out of reach without the telephoto lense almost imposssible. I never know if they'll stay for awhile or even come back so I shoot furiously when I first see them. Then wind up with blurry pics and a few keepers.

Just took a trip over to your garden pics which are beautiful. I especially like your roses. Is the yellow one Sunsprite?

I couldn't tell you for sure. I planted two rose bushes a couple of years ago. One was a yellow tea rose and the other was supposed to be white. Both turned out to be yellow, so there was a bit of mislabelling.
