A mom, a son, and a mission...We conquered Disney!

Thanks! And yes, it makes total sense to me. This is hopefully just the first of many mommy/son trips we get to take together.

Our dates overlap! Where are you staying? You should totally do a PTR. I'd love to read it. :lovestruc

We are staying at SSR. It is our first trip home since I swindled my DH into letting me purchase DVC

I love the DIS...it's a great place to get my Disney fix since the DH doesn't quite get my obsession :yay: If I do a PTR I will definitely let you know!

I am entirely jealous! DVC!!! I only dream of owning a piece of Disney one day :cloud9:

Fist off, I have to bow to you. I thought that I was a serious bargain shopper but your luggage deal is flat out incredible.

We also went to Babies R Us to try out strollers. I was going to go with the Volo until I realized it doesn't recline. That's a deal breaker. So it looks like I'll have to shell out the extra $$ for a Triumph :sad2:
Have you looked at Combi's? I have an Ultra Savvy that not only reclines fully & will take an infant seat (not something you need currently) BUT is also leopard print. I confess, it was the leopard print that sold me :rotfl: . The Combi is extremely light & folds up & in for travel so that you can easily carry it over your shoulder as well.

I suspect that we won't be bringing the stroller with us to WDW since my son is almost 5 and we do a lot of walking out as a family. But I wouldn't hesitate to bring the Combi and if we do decide to we can just fling it over a shoulder & go.

I'm enjoying your report and I think it's fantastic that you're taking this trip with your son!

:rotfl: I was pretty stoked to find such a deal on the luggage!

DS is almost 4 1/2 and we are always out and about but he is just LAZY. Well, lazy about walking that is. When it comes to misbehaving, jumping, climbing, and running his power jets are bottomless. Tell him we have to walk to Times Square from 5th Avenue and he throws himself on the floor.
 The joys of having a child with ASD.

I checked out the Combis and they seemed so much smaller than the Macs. DS really likes to spread himself out when he's cruising. As much as I HATE to fork over the $$ for a stroller we will more than likely only use once or twice after Disney, I'd rather spend it than have to drag him through the park. That would be a sight, wouldn't it?

I forgot to mention the highlight of my day yesterday! I don't know if anyone else read the Twilight series, but I am obsessed with it. I have an unholy obsession with vampires, always have. I am SO in love with Edward it borders on ridiculousness. So yesterday while we were in Babies R Us trying out strollers I could not for the life of me get it to fold so I asked the (very good looking) guy in the store to help me. I was listening to his voice and it was sooo smooth and....just lovely to listen to, just as Edward's from the book is. Well as I tell him he has a very relaxing voice I glance at his name tag. Guess what his name was. It was EDWARD! :lovestruc

I don't think I mentioned that I have been trying my hardest to get an ADR at Le Celier. I have been calling EVERY day. Well...persistence pays off because now I have TWO! Not only do I get to have an awesome meal there once, but TWICE. DS will love it because he loves steak. I know it must sound pretty odd to hear a vegetarian professing her love for a steak house, but that tomato stack and that ceasar salad! And let's not forget the mushroom ravioli. :woohoo: Okay, enough. I'm getting hungry.

Tonight I sorted through everything I have bought for the trip so far. DS does NOT need any more clothes. The only thing I have to get for him is socks and sneakers. Then I just have to pack him a few more pairs of undies, pajamas, one or two pairs of jeans, costume, and two or three more pairs of shorts. Aside from that he's set! It probably sounds crazy to be packing with 32 days to go. It calms my OCD. It also helps to not have so much clutter of Disney store bags pushed inside of each other and then piled on TOP of each other. :rotfl:

Packing for myself...now THAT is where the trouble will be. I need to get one or two more pairs of pants. I don't think I'll be swimming so I don't need a bathing suit (and anyone in my resort will thank me for that one!). I'll probably order a ton of stuff from Old Navy when I get paid Friday. Then I'll keep what fits best and return the rest.

Okay. I think that's it for now. :dance3:

After I realized that I have no clothes to pack I went on Old Navy's site and ordered a ton of stuff. I hope at least 2 pairs of pants will fit me good. My next paycheck will be spent on the stroller, earplanes, costume (DS decided on Mr. Incredible!), socks and uhhh I think that's it. No, wait. He needs headphones too. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get a bathing suit or not. Right now it's leaning towards NO!

Only 29 more sleeps! I'm getting very excited. I reworked my schedule. This one seems like it's going to be the final draft, but I still have 4 weeks to play with it. ;) And should that $2,550 in child support come through (hey I can hope right?) I plan to add some days or some meals or SOMETHING! :rolleyes1

Since learning of the construction going on in the food court at ASMu I have been leery about staying there. Tonight I switched us back to Pop. What can I say, I'm an indecisive person! :confused3 <---that is me most of the time! :rotfl:

I also changed around some ADRs and plans, but I'll list those tomorrow. I'm going to finish fixing everything at work :rolleyes1 and then I'll post it. Not that it will be finalized or anything. I have a permanent disclaimer that all plans are subject to change without notice. ;)

I already started planning next year's trip. This way I won't be so depressed when we get back. It will definitely be a split stay. I know that it will either be Pop or CBR for the first part and AKL, Poly, BC, BWI, or CR for the second part. Hey, I already told you I can't make up my mind. This time I am soooo NOT using a TA. I drove her batty this time. Can you imagine if I sent her an email that I wanted to book another trip? I think she'd quit. :lmao:

Ive been changing my plans like crazy as well. I think its part of the fun to tell you the truth though my GF thinks otherwise. IMO dont use a travel agent, if your on this site and clearly you are and have the knowledge there is no point to have someone else making the plans. Ive read some stories about people not getting codes cause their TA didnt get through, etc.

Yeah for POP! I keep changing our days around too so its not just you trust me!

25 more days to go. Not too much longer. It will be here before you know it.

I had to buy new clothes too! Grab the bathing suit. They are so cheap right now and it might be warmer than you think. :thumbsup2

25 days to go for both of us! I am tempted to start packing as well. I have younger siblings coming with us and it's their first trip and I have gone beyond out of control. Dad and Stepmom think I am nuts but I know my bro and sis will LOVE the presents from "Mickey". I had contemplated mailing everything to myself at SSR but now instead I am going to pack it into my carry on, this way I definitely have it when I get there and then MY carry on is empty on the way home for souvenirs :thumbsup2

This was definitely the last time for me. I had to actually call CRO to book with the AP discount and then transfer to her again anyway since I had to rework my dates to get WL. I'll only go through a TA if I get an amazing deal (like Magical Vacations) or if I'm booking a cruise. Other than that I'm going to do it myself. Sheesh, I even have coworkers asking me to book their trips!

I can't believe it's coming up so quick. I'm starting to get nervous!!! As far as the bathing suit, I highly doubt anyone at my hotel would appreciate watching my jiggly behind prance around in one. :rotfl:

:cool1: I only packed some of the kid's stuff. When my new clothes come I'll pack some of those too. I decided it will be cheaper for me to just mail our souvies home from the resort than to try and fly with them so I'm not worrying about empty suitcases or anything.

Hey hunni,

Hope you are ok?

Good choice moving back to Pop, What day do you leave as we may see you there?

I'm okay, just a little stressed. I had court today and my prince charming of an ex didn't even bother to show! And this is the case that's pretty important for HIM. It's about him getting visitation. I guess you can see how much he cares.

We will be at Pop 10/13-10/16. I would love to get to see you!!! I like making new friends, especially DIS friends! Dis friends are the best kind because you all share my addiction :rotfl:

I'm early for work today so I thought I'd post an update before I leave.

Last night my friend that lives in Florida decided to give me his final plans. No big deal right? I mean the trip is only 23 days away and I've only been asking him since March. Anyway, he tells me Friday the 17th for sure. So I call dining last night at 9:15 to try and get us a dinner ressie somewhere decent. I went through my wish list to a resounding no to each one. Then the lovely CM said she would make it easier and just tell me what IS available. To me great surprise I hear Brown Derby. What?! I'll take it! And it was at 5:20! A lovely time because we can still head over to Epcot for EMH. Then I look at my spreadsheet and see that we have lunch at Coral Reef at 2:50. Well that just is NOT going to work. :scared: Anyway at 9:56 I decide to call back and see if I can move Coral Reef to an earlier time, sure that I would again be shot down. However to my great surprise there are TWO earlier spots open, one of them being at 12:20. Perfect! I was so happy.:dance3:

In other news, I had court yesterday and my prince charming of an ex didn't show up. At all.... I guess that shows you how much he cares about my son. I also suppose this means he won't be showing up for the child support hearing in 10 days either. :rotfl:

Day 1:

Check in at Pop
Head to MK
Maybe go to DHS EMH if we aren't too exhausted!

I decided to go with no ADR on the first night so we can just go with the flow since our flight is super early.

Day 2:

Epcot for AM EMH
Back to Pop for some down time
DTD for the evening

I want to hopefully get to do a late lunch and then a late dinner so we can eat at the yummy places in DTD, specifically WPE and Earl of Sandwich. T-Rex Cafe is supposedly opening this day too, so we'll see.

Day 3:

Crystal Palace at 8:15 for breakfast
Le Celier at 2:05 for lunch
AK later for EMH

This is one busy day! But it was the only day I could get CP before the park opens. If we have to, we'll scrap the AK time. It's my least favorite park anyway. We only go on the Safari and It's Tough To Be A Bug so the rest of the time is spent wandering aimlessly.

Day 4:

MK AM EMH
Check in at WL by 11 AM
Back to MK

This is our transfer day so I don't have anything special planned, just a day at MK with a break in between to check in at WL.

Day 5:

Coral Reef 12:20
Brown Derby at 5:20
Epcot PM EMH

This day was originally planned with a late lunch and the whole night at Epcot. Now that my friend from Florida threw a wrench in the plans I had to rework some things and the only decent dinner we could get is Brown Derby (which shocked me!). I really wanted to strangle my friend for waiting so long to tell me what he wanted to do. I'm thinking of maybe leaving DS at the kids' club at WL while we have a nice quiet dinner. What do you all think? Would that be terrible of me? Of course I would go pick him up before heading to Epcot.

Day 6:

DHS AM EMH
Prime Time Cafe 11:05
MK at night

I figured making an early lunch ADR would be our best bet forthis day so that when crowds start to thicken we'll be ducking out of them for a nice meal. After lunch we'll hang around to see the Blockparty Bash parade. MK is open until 11 so we will have enough time to rest a bit before going over there.

Day 7:

'Ohana 8:30
DTD
Sci Fi 6:00
DHS PM EMH

I am so excited for the 'Ohana breakfast! Since it's early I figured we would head over for some more DTD time....possibly stock up on some treats:rolleyes1, then rest a bit before a long night at DHS.

Day 8:

AK AM EMH
Le Celier 12:30
Garden Grill 4:50

We don't really have any down time on this day. :confused3 We'll just make the best of it. It's only the 2 of us so we can just take it slow and move at our own pace. Besides, having 2 ADRs will give us a nice break.

Day 9:

LTT 6:00
MNSSHP

I decided to keep the morning open. We can make up for anything we feel got skipped or we can just hang around the resort.

Day 10:

We leave today. But not until 7, which means ME won't pick us up until 4 so we get to enjoy the day.

What do you all think of the new revised plans?

Oh...MY DOCUMENTS CAME YESTERDAY!! :cool1: :cool1:

I love your PTR!!!

I am leaving in 13 days with DS3. It looks like it is just going to be the 2 of us.

I hear you about the XH's. My XH1 is about $6,000 behind on child support. XH2 isn't paying because he's in jail.:rolleyes1
