A Magical Wish Trip for Kaylin.

So we are home now from Kaylin's surgery. Thank God its over. Everything went well.
However, they gave her Versed to help relax her, and while it did at first, after the surgery... she was the worst I have ever seen. She was violent, and screaming throwing herself around. She kicked dad in the face, punched him in the face, bit his leg, Almost fell out of the bed. Tried to rip her IV out on her own. And sadly enough yelling at me to go away, she didnt need a mommy, she didnt want a mommy. What an emotionally draining day.

Glad to hear the port removal went well and Im so sorry Kaylin had a hard time after surgery. We went through that with Gavin and I know how emotional it is.

How long was the surgery? Seems the shorter it is Versed reactions are worse
Ash has horrible reactions with it too. She has only had it 3 times because of them. She does much better if they just distract her or use the gas first.

Oh that stinks! We've had mixed reactions with anesthesia and I just realized I didn't pay attention to which ones they've used. I should get that info.

So happy to hear that Kaylin's port is out!!!! Another milestone for her to be cancer free!!!

Once you get back to the planning, not that I'm an expert, but we have been to MNSSHP 2 times and have a pretty good idea how things work. You can also check out my October TR... it has a run down of the party and what I wanted to accomplish, what we missed, and other random info! LOL

Oh, how awful. While I'm glad the surgery went smoothly, I'm so sorry you had to experience this.

We haven't heard from you in a while. I'm just making sure everything is okay, and to let you know I'm following along.

I'm still lurking around. Its been a hectic last few weeks, and we havent even been running to clinic. woohoo With the holiday, and such around, plus I work 6 days a week (or atleast for now) as I am a mail carrier i barely get a free minute.

Kaylin has been very well and getting back to her old self one day at a time. Her hair is starting to re-grow a bit FINALLY!! I think it may even be coming back a bit darker. Now, Im just praying for those Shirley Temple curls to return too!!! The Girls did AWESOME for their Easter pictures which I was worried about the way Kaylin responded last year screaming her head off and saying she wanted to go home, this year..couldnt get her off the bunny's lap I will post pictures (albeit the bunny one for now til i scan it in).

Some people at my work decided to have a bake sale in honor of Kaylin to raise money, and when they gave me the money I was told to use it not only for some of the medical bills, but to buy her something nice to enjoy for all she has been through, so we bought her a really nice swing set and have been pretty busy putting that together.. it says 2 ppl should take 8-10 hours, mmmm im really not thinking so. Took closer to 20 hours. I will have topost pictures of that too when I get them, cuz she has had a blast on it!!

I hope to start coming on much more with all our planning coming up very soon. We are still waiting on confirmed dates as of yet, so as of now.. "unofficially" we are going October 7 - 17.

So, I am really starting to get impatient.

I talked to the coordinator of our wish company on Saturday at an 'outing' that they put together for the kids in our area. It was a fishing day which Kaylin caught her first fish and was sooooooooo proud to hold the fish. She decided to throw him back. But it was a 15.5 inch trout, and her second one was a 13 inch rainbow. Of course our camera battery died as we were trying to take the picture. So some kind family and her volunteer took pics and promised to email em to us.

But back to the impatient part, I talked to the coordinator and told her we picked out dates but needed to get a hold of the person in charge of our trip to make sure we get our dates. I dont want to start planning anything only to have to try and change things.

I had a friend who was just down pick up some postcards for me, so I can send her some from the characters before we leave. Everyday she asks me to check the mail and see if the mailman brought her a card cuz she was getting so many before. She was always sad when there wasnt anything and would ask me why the mailman wasnt bringing her anything. Too cute. So I thought that would make her day! But I"d really like to get planning already.....

I love the Easter pictures of the girls. Are you going through the Dream Factory? Tyler's fishing for Dreams event here is the first Saturday in June. I can't wait to hear your plans. Your girls are beautiful!

You have such a beautiful family and Kaylin is such a special little girl who has gone thru so much. I hope everything goes well with your planning. I hope that My husband and I will get the opportunity to meet your family while you are at Disney we are planning on volunteering at Give Kids the World in October. I look forward to reading more about Kaylin's journey and hope she continues to do well. Keep your spirits up I can't even imagine how hard it must be some days but we will be thinking about you. FINALLY heard back from Dream Come True! They are coming out Tuesday night to discuss our trip details with us!! The dates we picked were October 6-17!! They will give us our confirmation on this then. BHut atleast i know I can start to plan now!!
