I tried to post pictures of my Ariel cosplay but it said I must have ten or more post... so I will post random bulletins so it'll let me show you
Haley's back!

You are cracking me up with your random posts.

I've been to AKL, but haven't tried Boma or Jiko yet.

Oh you'll beat the holiday crowds! Osbourne lights are amazing! So worth it!
I love, love, love Boma. Obviously.
We are super excited about Osbourne lights as well as the lights at MK, and the resort decorations. I saw that they put a tree in the CL at the Poly. Maybe we'll be able to see it from outside :thumbsup2

Thinking about the candelight processional but don't know much about it.

There is a strange animal in the mosaic mural in the fourth-floor lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort. What is it?
A a two-headed cow
B a five-legged goat
C a two-headed bird
D a four-legged man

Answer:
B a five-legged goat.
Known as the "Grand Canyon Concourse", the fourth floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort includes a 90-foot high mural created by Disney artist, Mary Blair in 1971. The Southwestern-themed mosaic contains 1,800 one-square-foot tiles and took 18 months to construct. The mural includes a five-legged goat (although some say it's a cow) on the monorail side, allegedly to illustrate humanity's imperfections.

Did Mary Blair also do the artwork/designs for It's a Small World? Or was it someone else?

OMG, Haley you had me laughing with your countdown of posts. :rotfl:

Ariel... you are SOOOO much better an Ariel than some I have seen in the park. I have one picture that is almost scary.

I wasn't sure, but I looked it up and Wikipedia says yes!

Y'all are going to love Haley, once she gets used to posting on the DIS. I think she's a beautiful Ariel. I wish you could hear her voice.

Haley - what does "cosplay" mean?

I wish you could hear Haley sing "Part of Your World". She has a video over on Facebook, but I wonder if she's waiting until she gets her entire costume together to sing it as Ariel.

Haley has already been checking into the College Program at Disney. She's also researched the face characters and it sounds like you have to work for Disney for 2-3 years, maybe as a character "handler" for experience, before you can get a job as a face character.

Haley says there are lots of Disney CM positions she'd love to hold - it doesn't have to be a face character. But I just love her passion and hope that's what she gets to do.

Another tidbit - Haley is in her 2nd year of ASL (American Sign Language) and will take Year 3 next year. My sister told me that she's looking into a college course during her Senior year so she'll have four years. My sister thinks knowing ASL may help Haley with getting a CM job.

Good luck Haley! I hope her dreams of becoming a CM come true. :wizard:
I guess we'll have to wait a few years to see what happens. I am betting she'll be talking to all the CMs she can when we're there, getting the scoop. She can't talk to face characters, though. They have to remain in character, of course.

Answer: C Norway in World Showcase
"Takk" (pronounced "TOCK") means "Thank You" and will likely be heard in and around the Norway pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.

Also, today we got Disney Mail!!

I've been waiting for the JetBlue and Southwest flight schedules to expand to include our December dates, because these are the only two carriers that offer non-stop flights from Austin to Orlando, and because they are usually the least expensive.

Looking at the flight times for the latest published dates on the same days of the week as our flights, I had narrowed it down to JetBlue based on the times. Plus, Katie LOVES JetBlue, so it would be a treat for her.

This week JetBlue published its schedule and fares through and past our dates. So I was excited to go check them out. For the outbound, everything looks good, except it is $276 ONE WAY!! Then I looked at the return flight and they have changed the time from 3:55pm to 12:45pm on the non-stop. Well, we just won't be having that. We are going to see the MK on our last morning and there's no way I'm going for a DME pickup at 10am. Then, it was also ridiculously expensive.

Based on my trip budget, and the previously available flights, I had budgeted $315 per person, round trip. These JetBlue flights are close to $500. I checked the major airlines and the flight times are not as good and prices not much better.

So, we wait for Southwest to release their schedule and keep our fingers crossed. I think the merger with AirTran may become effective soon, so maybe that will open up some good times and fares.

Answer: C Partners

Walt Disney Imagineering President Marty Sklar commissioned retired Imagineer and Disney Legend Blaine Gibson to capture Walt and Mickey in a statue. Gibson is also the primary sculptor of the presidents' heads and faces that were used as the bases of the Audio-Animatronics figures in The Hall of Presidents. He came out of retirement to sculpt Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. The Partners statue was placed in WDW June 19, 1995. There is a second "Partners" in Disneyland, which was unveiled on November 18, 1993, Mickey's 65th birthday.

I appreciate your daily trivia so much! I know so little... and here I thought I was a big ole disney fan. :sad2:

The airfare... :confused3 I too had an idea of what I wanted to spend. I am actually starting to feel a bit of stress over it. Round trip for us is almost $800 pp for our current dates. I have NEVER paid that much. Usually... somewhere near $200. Now, I can get a couple companion fares and that will bring it down to an average of approx. $450 pp.. but still that is more than I want to spend. Funny thing... if I book a separate stay at a value and fly in 2 days earlier... we actually save money. I am just not sure how split stays work and how much of a pain it would be to move to the next resort. So... I am going to be watching a bit longer. I want to have all this squared away soon though cause... in 6 week it will be time to book the ADR's. :woohoo:

Glad you enjoy the trivia. I know Haley is enjoying it.

I really suspect that JetBlue has raised their fares due to gas prices. I heard a few days ago that Delta is adding a $10 each way additional fee and that if it is "accepted" by the public, other major airlines will do the same. They said Delta tried this a couple of years ago and it didn't fly. (haha no pun intended) Maybe those JetBlue fares will go down, but I actually fear that Southwest's will be higher when they release them. :(
