A Magical Place at a Magical Time of Year

:thumbsup2 on getting your 'Ohana ADR changed to a better time!

Love the IPO's humor in their response! Makes it fun for both of you! :goodvibes
Yeah. I think that's my last change (famous last words). I feel like we have all of our ADRs and days perfectly planned now! And I love when the CMs do something extra to make the waiting fun.

B...and what a mouse! Whose birthday happens to be in November.
I didn't know about the birthday. How old will he be?

my answer today is b. However... I always thought the quote wast "with" a mouse..it isn't that?
More on that topic when I give the answer.

I have to agree with Ann...I thought it was with a mouse too...????
see above

I took Katie back to Boulder for her sophomore year at CU this week. We drove from Austin to Amarillo Thursday and from Amarillo to Boulder Friday. We got her moved into her sorority house yesterday and I flew home last night.

On the way, we listened to the music on Katie's iPod through her car stereo. Much of the music she likes is of the genre "dub step". I really have no idea what that means, but the deep bass tones remind me a lot of the Main Street Electrical Parade music. I'd love for Katie to hear the music and draw the same comparison (or not).

I was worried that Katie won't get to see that parade on our trip, because I have read that they start the Christmas nighttime parade after the last MVMCP (which we are attending on our 2nd night at WDW). I was pretty excited today when I checked TP and saw that they expect the MSEP all the nights we are there. I hope that doesn't change later this year.

125 days until Disney. Who provides the voice of "Zazu" in Mickey's PhilharMagic?
a.) Paul Reubens
b.) Robin Williams
c.) Rowan Atkinson
d.) Michael Gough

Previous trivia:
Finish this Walt Disney quote: "It was all started..."
a.) By my love of children
b.) By a mouse
c.) Way back at the World's Fair
d.) With a suggestion from my wife
Answer: b.) In looking back on the success of the Disney Company, Walt Disney once noted, "I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."
startedbyamouse.jpg

Side note: I also thought it was "it all began with a mouse", but I'm pulling my questions from Lou Mongello's trivia book, and I googled it and I see many references to "with a mouse", but all of the "official-looking" references seem to be "by a mouse". Maybe we will need to check the Walt exhibit at DHS when we're there.

No news for today. Not very exciting. Ha!

124 days until Disney. What is unique about the storefronts in the France pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot?
a.) They contain living quarters for some of the Cast Members from France.
b.) Behind them is a VIP lounge.
c.) They are "themed" even in areas guests can't see.
d.) Behind them are rooms containing most of the computers that control the attractions in World Showcase.

Yesterday's:
Who provides the voice of "Zazu" in Mickey's PhilharMagic?
a.) Paul Reubens
b.) Robin Williams
c.) Rowan Atkinson
d.) Michael Gough
Answer: c.) Rowan Atkinson. Atkinson, who provided the voice of Zazu in Disney's The Lion King, may be best known for his role as "Mr. Bean." Michael Gough provides the voice of Zazu in The Enchanted Tiki Room (which just re-opened today, in its original form, so I think Zazu is now gone).

I will guess C. though.

123 days until Disney. What was placed in the center of Disney's Hollywood Studios to commemorate the 100 Years of Magic Celebration?
a.) A really big hat
b.) A statue of Mickey Mouse
c.) A statue of Walt Disney
d.) A museum of Disney World memorabilia

Answer: c.) Unlike many of the attractions and buildings in WDW theme parks, the false storefronts in France are themed even "backstage," out of view of park guests. Why? Well, the real reason is that some guests of the Epcot resorts can see the rear of the France pavilion from their hotel rooms. Since the area can be seen by guests, it must be themed in every detail; WDW visitors should never be able to see the non-themed "back" of a building.

Wow, I was just guessing..but it made the most sense to me.

And for today... again just guessing but I will go with b. a statue of Mickey.

For today...I am guessing A....that hat that drives most people crazy (but I like it).

We are less than 4 months away (finally). That seems like a long time still, but is definitely less than 11 months (when we first booked)!

122 days until Disney. Where have you heard "...a world of laughter, a world of tears..."?
a.) Spaceship Earth
b.) it's a small world
c.) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Poo
d.) Peter Pan's Flight

Answer: a.) A really big hat. To commemorate Walt Disney's 100th birthday, the Sorcerer Mickey hat was created for the Studios and located in front of the replica of Mann's Chines Theater. This giant version of the hat Mickey wore in the animated classic, Fantasia, is made of fiberglass, painted with "chameleon paint" that makes the color appear to change as you walk around it, and decorated with two enormous moons and giant stars. It was formally unveiled on September 28, 2001.

oo oo... I guess b. too!!

As for yesterday. Wow... I just assumed the hat was always there. I love learning new things about Disney!

B....and now thank you for sticking this song in my head for the rest of the evening! I found this trivia....

1. The ride was originally sponsered by Mattel.
2. In the finale of "It a Small World", there is a clown in a hot air balloon holding a Glittery sign that says...HELP.
3. If you fall in that water during the ride, you are required to have a tetanus shot....that is just gross to think about!
4. At the end of the ride, there are signs from all over the world saying goodbye, but the Japanese one actually says THANK YOU.
5. The sound systems for Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World are in the same room, which is one of Haunted Mansion's backstage rooms. The reason is that Small World is a water ride, the sound systems needed to be stored someplace dry, and Haunted Mansion is the nearest similar attraction.
6. They redecorate It's a small world for christmas but what do they do not change the end signs to say Merry Christmas.
7. Its a Small World is the longest unsupervised ride, meaning there are no security cameras in Its a Small World.
8. There are no signs of America in this ride.
9. Each night the cast members have to scrub the boats clean.
