Off to the MK we go!!! After dinner we decided to head over to one of DD's favorite rides... Aladdin's Flying Carpets! We started our last trip on this ride so I guess that will be our tradition from now on. I'm not exactly sure what time it was, but the line for Aladdin was really short because Spectro was about to begin. It was chilly tonight and DD kept saying how mad she would be if that mean ole camel spit on her! We got in line and after the people in front of us rode it was already our turn. Not even a 5 minute wait which was great because, as I said, DD loves this ride. After riding, we exited and headed thru that small covered walkway to Frontierland because we wanted to see Country Bear Jamboree. I know that is not a "must do" for most people, but DH had fond memories of it from his childhood and we didn't get to see it last time we visited. It was 10 minutes until the next show but we didn't get to see it because once DD caught sight of the shiny, bright, lit up floats coming towards her there was no way we were going anywhere else! Dh put her up on his shoulders and we proceeded to watch the entire parade. We hadn't seen it before and it was really cool. DD loved it and we all thought it was neat how alll of the lights changed from multi colored to white. We enjoyed the parade and were glad we stopped to view it even though it wasn't on our list of things we were going to try and do this evening.
After the parade, DH and I thought we could catch the next showing of CBJ but DD was upset, saying her leg hurt. I was one of those bad parents, telling her to shake it off, didn't she want to go on more rides, etc. Now, normally I would probably be thinking to myself "go on back to the hotel and let your child sleep!".....IF I didn't know how my daughter operates! She really didn't want to go to CBJ and I knew it, so we started the stroll to Fantasyland and within about 30 seconds the tears had dried up and she was all excited about going on Peter Pan. He is my favorite character so she couldn't wait to get on that ride. But first we saw that the line for IASW was virtually nonexistent so we jumped on that first. It was closed for refurbishment 2 1/2 years ago when we were there so this would be her 1st time on it. We got on in about 5 minutes and she was in awe! I grew up going to
Disneyland so I have spent a lot of time on it but I still loved it!
Next we headed to Peter Pan. In another life I believe I was one of the characters in this movie. I can relate to them all and I love it!! This was our longest wait of the trip probably about 30 minutes. I figured that the fireworks would be starting soon, so maybe the line would lighten up. We had been in the queue about 10 minutes when the show started. We could actually see some of the fireworks from where we were standing but DD doesn't like the loud noise they make so she wasn't really all that interested in watching them. We finally got on and had a great time! It was just over way too quickly! I love me some Peter Pan!!!
From there we went to check out Pooh. That is DD's other favorite ride. There were no fastpasses being given out while we were there and the standby time said 70 minutes! Uh, nope! We will come back and get FP's for Pooh another day. Then we went back to the carousel and were able to get right on. It is another one of my favorite rides. Can you tell I love Fantasyland as much as DD? I remember going to DL as a child and having so much fun there, some of my favorite memories (even as a teenager!)
We all grabbed our ponies and had a nice ride.
Now we wanted to get on the teacups and luckily, again, we encountered no line! Another less than 5 minute wait! DD loves to go fast and DH willingly obliges! I'm not exactly excited about whirling around wildly at 11:30pm, but it is still fun! I do really enjoy this ride but I was beginning to get a headache from the cold and wouldn't have been to upset if DD wanted to go back to the hotel.
Woo hoo! DD now says that she is really getting tired and would like to go back. Fine with me! But first, she wants to walk over to Tomorrowland and see what is there. She likes the TTA or "people mover" as we always called it growing up. "Can we ride it before we leave?", she asks. Well of course we can!! For some strange reason, the TTA has always been one of my most favorite rides. I really can't say why but I just love it! In general, I find Tomorrowland rather boring and I don't care for most of the rides there except for Space Mountain. So we jumped right on and had a nice ride. It seemed like it was moving faster than usual, but it probably just felt like it because it was getting cold. We had fun and ended up leaving the park right about midnight.
The rush to get out was a bit mad! We weren't in a huge hurry as we knew we could always sleep in if we wanted (even though that would yet again mess up tomorrow's plans.) We wanted to take the boat over to the Poly, but as we were almost there the captain closed the gate. It was somewhat annoying as he didn't have anywhere near a full boat and he could have waited the extra 30 seconds for us to board. What really made us kind of mad was that he didn't even acknowledge us. We were running because we could tell he was getting ready to leave (he wasn't actually on the boat yet when we were on our way.) But, as we were almost there he closed the gate and turned his back to us and left. There were people on the boat who were throwing up their hands like "I don't know why he's not letting you on." DH started to make a few choice comments about it within earshot of the boat captain but I told him to zip it. " Let's just grab the resort monorail, I can see it pulling into the station," I say. Good move on my part! The lines for the monorail to the TTC were crazy long, down the ramp and backing up everywhere! We walked right on to the resort monorail figuring we would just walk to the TTC from the Poly. No need to do that, however! It doesn't say it on the monorail sign, but after stopping at the Contemporary the resort monorail also stops at the TTC. Yay!!! No extra walking for this tired crew. We arrived at the TTC right
beforethe monorail that had come directly from MK AND we didn't have to wait for additional monorails with throngs of other people!!! We ended up doing this a few times and it definitely was a great discovery if you are going to the TTC and don't want to wait with hundreds and hundreds of other people trying to go ther also.
We managed to get on a tram within just a few minutes. Luckily, Disney is prepared for the onslaught of people and can handle it well. We had to wait in line for just a moment while everyone loaded on the waiting trams. We got on one within just a minute and headed out to our car which was in "Grumpy", which is quite fitting for how we are all feeling right about now! I told ya'll there was no way DD would make it for EMH! Even though she slept a little later than usual this morning, she still doesn't have much stamina once the fatigue sets in. I am impressed that she made it as long as she did. She really is a trooper and I was proud of her for not fussing or making a scene even though I knew she was wiped out!
Almost our entire tram car was parked at either at Happy or Grumpy and we all cheered when we finally got there! I put DD in the stroller and ran to the car where she promptly conked out after a few tears.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to keep you out so late!
We got back to the BC and settled in for a nice sleep! We were all worn out so we're happy to be crawling into our nice comfy beds. That is, after we eat those tasty chocolates waiting on our pillows!!!!
When we get up tomorrow, we'll head over to EPCOT and I'll tell you about a nice surprise we receive---hint:an invitation to another tea party with Alice!

and our lunch with the princesses in Norway

, plus our adults only evening

(if you can't tell yet, I enjoy a cocktail!) and why I was forced to wear flip flops in 40 degree weather!!!
I will include the pictures that accompany this post soon. I am still engrossed in the tragic situation that has happened today. Thank goodness, all of the people we know who attend VA Tech are fine. I will be thinking of all the students, teachers, employees and their families and hope the wonderful subscribers of the Disboards will also. I'll see ya'll tomorrow.
