Where was I?? So sorry I haven’t posted a TR in a week, it has been crazy around here!
Okay, Day 4. It is now Saturday and we have plans we’re really looking forward to….lunch in Norway with the Princesses!!!! We did the breakfast last trip and really enjoyed it. I actually had breakfast reservations for Easter Sunday this year, but I figured DD would be really disappointed if she missed the candy scramble at the resort, so we cancelled.
DH skipped the first of 2 baseball games today because we were just so wiped out and decided to catch a few more zzzzzz’s. Anyway, we finally made it up and about, grabbed a bagel and left BC about 11:30 on our way to the World Showcase. Our plan today was to wander around WS and stop at all the Kidcot spots. We started this project the other day but got sidetracked and didn’t finish it. DD really wanted to finish her mask so she could take it to school for show and tell. Our first stop was England. DD got a new mask and spent quite a bit of time coloring it. We wandered around the toy shop and took a bunch of pics outside. On our way from England to Canada, we noticed a woman on our left standing in front of some building which we hadn’t noticed before. She was handing out some sort of flyer. She motioned to us to come over to her and asked DD if she would like to go to a tea party with Alice! I explained that she had just had tea with Alice yesterday. The CM said that was great, but this one would be different and we wouldn’t want to miss it. Of course, DD wanted to go so we accepted the invitation and made our way over to the “World ShowPlace”. I still have the actual invitation we were given, but I haven’t taken a photo of it and my scanner is useless, so I’ll just type what it said:
You are cordially invited to join Alice and her Wonderland friends at a curiously delightful tea party.
Place: World ShowPlace
Please return with this invitation to the World ShowPlace between
12:15 and 12:25pm
Seating will begin promptly at 12:30pm
April 7th, 2007
You won’t want to be late for this date!
It is a really nice invitation with drawings of Alice and the White Rabbit which will make an excellent contribution to our scrapbook (if I can ever manage to get it done!)
Well, we went ahead and got in the line because it was already almost 12:15. There were about 30 other kids there and a few more came in behind us. We were asked to get in 2 separate lines with the children all on the left or right of us, depending on which side we were on. The CM’s opened the doors and I could see Tweedledum and Tweedledee! They led the first line of people in and then brought us up to the door. They explained that the kids would go in, sit down and the parents would be positioned across from them.
Something happened then that really made me angry. During this time I could hear a woman’s voice and it sounded like she was very angry. Next thing I know, this woman is pushing her way out through the door and the crowd, dragging her daughter behind her, screaming “If they think I’m gonna leave my youngin theys crazy! I stand here in line for over a hour and them gd(bad word) workers don’t got the sense to tell me she got to be left alone! I ain’t leavin her, she’s only 3 years old. Who the heck(not the word she used) can I go to complain to?” (This is really what she said, I’m not exaggerating!) I wish I had thought to get my video camera out while that woman was ranting. I would have posted it on Youtube! The woman stomped off cussing under her breath the whole way out. My DD just kind of looked at DH and I like “What’s up with that crazy woman?”

I tried to explain to her that, even though we were at the Happiest Place on Earth, people who had no sense or class in the outside world probably had even less in here and that she just needed to ignore people who acted like that. The woman had no reason to throw such a tantrum, especially in a public place. And, especially because the CM's had just stated that the kids would NOT be left alone! I felt bad for all of the small children who had to witness her tirade. It was just an ugly scene.

Oh well, it didn’t negatively affect the rest of our day, on to the Tea Party!
We entered the large room and set up in the middle were a bunch of banquet table placed end to end. There were 2 rows of ropes placed on each long side of the tables. The children stayed in line and each took a seat at the tables. All parents were situated behind the ropes on the opposite side of their kids so we would be able to view the children’s faces. The tables were decorated with paper placemats, markers, cookies, lemonade, streamers, and character cutouts.
Tdum and Tdee went up and down the sides of the tables waving at the kids and acting goofy. After a few moments, I could hear something happening behind us. Out came Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit. It took a second for the children to realize they were there, but when they did, they got so excited! The 3 of them ran around the table saying hello, shaking hands, etc. It was neat to see all of them together! I took a video of the speech MH gave but it is kind of dark so I won’t bother posting it. He told the children to color their placemats, eat the cookies, drink the lemonade and have lots of fun, because they were the lucky few who would get to attend this “curiously delightful tea party!” The kids spent the next 10 minutes or so visiting with the characters and munching on their snacks. After that, they were all invited to take pictures with all of the characters together which made for a great photo op!

It was such a fun surprise to get to attend and DD had a super time! I think the whole thing lasted less than 20 minutes, but it was well worth it. I'm so glad we didn't skip it just because DD had alread done a Tea with Alice. At the Wonderland Tea Party at GF we weren't allowed to watch the festivities so this was a nice treat!
Next up will be my reviews of the Princess Lunch in Norway, the Boardwalk, and the Sandcastle Club. See ya later!
