A little Texas Christmas Magic - 12/21/2012

It is not a reploacement but another place to share. The FB pages have become more and more popular. The conversation can still continue here but for instance I can share my album from the Christmas cruise last year on FB much easier than I can here on the DIS. People have asked what the ship is like, etc on Christmas :santa: and there are also first time cruisers that can benefit from being able to share photos and ideas. I am sorry that you are so disappointed. I don't however think that this is a bad thing...just another way to communicate. :surfweb:

Sorry that we can't share your memories with you on FB and I hope everyone still communicates with DIS.

We are on the list for FE and OE, do we fill in our info on the google spreadsheet or do you?

:cool1:
Yeah for FB page and Spreadsheet :)

I added our info already.

We are one family but 3 rooms, want to spread out. My dd21 would like to do her own ornament for the exchange if possible.

Silly but filling in the spreadsheet made me feel official :)

:cheer2:
I added your DD21 as another ornament exchanger.

OK, so far we have a total of 13 participating and I feel that now would be a time to set our meeting day/time. I am hoping this won't be too complicated & we can find an opportunity to fit it in for all 13 of us.

After reviewing the Navigators, I am going to throw Sat. (our first day at sea) out there as a first choice. It's nice to meet up early on in the cruise and make friends!
It appears that "activities" don't begin until about 1230, with the exception of maybe a 1030 tour. I would like to propose Sat 10AM meet. After breakfast, before sun time, perfect for a bloody mary.
Now I need to hear from people as far as spa services or Palo brunch booked if you have a conflict. We can find an acceptable day/time for everyone.
You can PM me if you want, or post here.
;)

They tend to do Castaway Club event around 10:30 or 11:00 on that first sea day...we tend to miss it bc we are usually at Palo Brunch. Other than 24th we are open. Also I wanted to let you know that we want to di 2 ornaments if possible...both of my daughters want to participate.

Thank you for organizing this! :) :thumbsup2

Added your DD.
I checked the Navigators for those sort of events, and we are going to have to get a day/time that works for the majority. Fingers crossed!
Also, looks like several people are coming as a family, so if we get many more participants I will look into reserving a lounge/room with DCL. Would love to keep it around the deck/Goofy pool or Diversions. Location TBD.

They don't put Castaway Club event in navigator anymore. I understand though that it has to be the majority I was just letting you know that that is normally when they have that event and it is not in the navigators.

Thanks~ I appreciate it!
On another topic...
Who knows the best way/paper to use when printing magnets? I want to make some for my parents door. Last time I had my old printer & another Diser was nice enough to print some out for our cabin. We have a good printer now, but I don't want to waste ink/magnet paper by setting it wrong.
Ant tips from the pros?:bitelip:

I use my xyron machine to make magnets. So I print on cardstock and then put them through my xyron which puts laminate on the front and magnet on the back.

Brooklyn, your signature picture is so cute! I added my information to the google spreadsheet..thanks for setting that up! :)

Skypixy, any of the sea days would be fine :) I like the idea of meeting up earlier in the cruise..I know that they have the DVC member celebration on the first sea day as well. Does DCL charge a fee for reserving a space on board?

Instead of cleaning house I am trolling the Disboard and searching online for a new pirate costume.....really? pirate:

Okay, where are you finding the Navigator for our cruise? And, as far as I know that will work for us. Not sure about my kids though. ;0)

I have searched the boards for those posted from other cruises, same ports as ours. Also checked mine from 2010 Christmas cruise & the ones Brooklyn posted. Of course, everything is "subject to change" per each cruise. I was trying to stay away from any dance parties, Mickey 200 & other popular events like wine tastings or "the art of" tours.
We won't get our Navigators until we board. Bring a highlighter so you can circle the events you don't want to miss!:3dglasses

Sounds like it will be tough to find a time and place to make everyone happy. I am all for doing the ornament exchange earlier in the cruise. Maybe we have to bump the time back 1/2 hour to 9:30am. Mimosas or Bloody Marys will be perfect. Isn't there a lounge area onboard that is long and skinny and it has a dance floor and perhaps a piano - I think they had a gingerbread house there on the 2010 Holiday Cruise? Jogging anyone's memory?:scratchin

It was in Studio Sea. That place is huge! And, as if you are going to wake up early enough to meet at 0930. :rotfl2:
Joking. I am still waiting to hear if people have brunch/spa services scheduled that first day...Now, where am I going to find a decent costume??:surfweb:
