Around here when you were 13 you were called a teen.

I hated being called a pre-teen. Just the sound of it makes me mad...don't ask why. I don't know, I just didn't like it.

Yeah, "pre-teen" is kind of belittling. At the time I was proud to say I was a "pre-teen" because it made me feel older. I started saying I was a pre-teen at 10..
