First, let's make this board appropriate: Does anyone know of a biography of Walt Disney that's written at a 2nd - 4th grade reading level?
My son came home Friday with a note saying they have to do a major presentation on a famous American. Oh, and the person has to be dead.
This is a 2nd grade. They have to do research, have 12 to 15 notecards, create a costume, write a speech, and memorize and deliver the speech to all 4 2nd grades and parents!
Seems a bit daunting for me! Then I decided to tie it in with our trip. I sent the form back saying he'd be Walt Disney.
We'll see where the teacher goes with that one!
She but the kibosh on my plans to have him be Shrek when they did their fairy tale unit.
To maximize the likelihood that he'll be approved I put Buck O'Neill down as his second choice. If you ever met Buck you'll know he should be much more famous than he is...and he'll be a fine second choice if she shoots down my Disney idea.
So, there you have it. I need a kiddie biography of Walt.
