A little of this, a little of that, WDW US IOA SeaWorld Legoland Oct 12 PTR

My DS likes T-rex too. It's always one of his picks.

We haven't been to TRex since the month it opened! We went to Build-A-Dino on our last trip so DS got a little bit of a fix :)

The October hours were posted today, and I'm home with a respiratory something or another (sneeze, cough) so I've set down and made some plans. Sorta.

October 14th will be our first full day.

We're sleeping in today! After traveling 17 hours, we'll need it. I'm going to try and make a late breakfast ADR for either 1900 Park Fare or Cape May, neither have we been to.

After that a quick trip to DTD where I can load up on allergy free breakfast pastries at Babycakes, then maybe a little pool/rest time and later that night attend MNSSHP with just the kids and mom.

And because I love the Haunted Mansion.......I get really sappy when the ballroom dancers and the hitch hiking ghosts come down the parade route

I feel like I'm talking to myself!!

Which of course I'm used to because I think my husband and kids all tune me out anyhow :lmao:

I found a discount code today for Legoland and was such a good deal that I ended up buying tickets. They were cheaper than Seaworld, and I think since it seems to be geared towards littler kids, this might be the last year it would work for us really. Seaworld will be there next trip.

Great plans so far! I think CP is a good choice before the party. Everyone can load up on food so you don't have to "feed" during the party itself. More time to Trick or Treat, ride attractions and enjoy the atmosphere!

I can see the merit in both versions of that plan...but if it was my family we would hang at DTD and then do MNSSHP. But we are lightweights when it comes to park touring...we are going to rest the day of the party.

What a fun trip you have planned! I can't wait to read all about it :)

Thank you! We can't wait to go!

No! I'm listening. :wave2:LOL

I'm so glad I'm not talking to myself!

It seems like we always do CP on party days. The first year we did Liberty Tree Tavern but that was when it still had characters and the servers all dressed like zombies. That was our hands down FAVORITE and I was so bummed when they discontinued it!!

Oooo! Legoland! I'll be really interested to hear what you have to say about it when you get back.

DS is so excited for Legoland. I've read good and bad reports, so we'll see how it goes. My mom said she wanted to make sure it was a day she was with us to go because she loved seeing all the Lego things at DTD.

We usually do parks until lunch, and then rest for the party. I know some say its a waste of a day's ticket, but we like getting a few things accomplished in the morning. However, we usually go later in our vacation, and since it's the day after we've been traveling all day, I have a feeling we'll be a little more tired than usual and need that later morning doing nothing. We could honestly just play this day by ear and see what time we get up and how everyone feels!

EDITED

DD's most favorite park DHS!

DD's most favorite ride RNR!!

Because on our last trip, it was broken down, the entire trip. 2 DHS days and she didn't get to ride it once. Never mind on her birthday trip we rode it 14 times in 2 days, one of those days 7 times in a row. Blech. All she talks about is how she didn't get to ride it last time. We even took a picture for prosperity sake
IMG_2958.jpg

But, enough about DD. What about me? My favorite ride is also at DHS.
IMG_2869.jpg

And at some point we'll have to ride TSM. The first time we rode it my mom ended up holding the rope funky and gave herself a monster blister on her finger? Hopefully she can avoid it this time
IMG_2280.jpg

Another must do at DHS for us in the Animation Class. We do it every trip.
IMG_2205.jpg

And remember when I said something about my mom becoming this little kid? This is the first time my mother, age 58, met Mickey Mouse :)

Here's where my plans fall apart for this day. Food. Usually we do Starring Rolls on our first DHS day and then Pizza Planet with my brother. I can't do Starring Rolls anymore because I can't do sandwiches, so I'm lost. I'm going to have to do some research on an allergy safe place to eat so I can still save Pizza Planet for later.

And then dinner. I'm debating between:

Mama Melrose or Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Pkg. We didn't get to watch it on our last trip and I think my mom would enjoy it. We haven't eaten at either one of these restaurants before but I've seen some good allergy free meals reviewed.

love the plans for your Epcot day. The Perry change thrills ME! We haven't gotten the chance to do the missions in the past. A Perry themed attraction will definitely pull me in next time! I have a stuffed Perry on my desk at work and I sleep with a stuffed Perry.

... yes, I am a 2 year old in a 30 year old's body. ;)

I love Perry. The missions are so much fun. I can't wait to see the changes!

Today we're heading to AK. I'm hoping my mom will get to spend the full day here because last trip she was only with us for a couple of hours before her BFF picked her up for some beach sightseeing.

Our first must do:

ry%3D400

DS has never ridden EE. He was finally tall enough last trip, but by the time we got through the morning with mom and ate lunch, no one really felt like riding it. It was hot and lunch wasn't sitting well, so we left AK early and didn't get back there again.

Second must do for the dino lover DS. Loud jerky obnoxious Dinosaur
IMG_1679.jpg

Between multiple rides on Dinosaur and RNR, I should get put in a really good nursing home.

Now, the one thing I'm debating about for today is:

Lion King vs Nemo

We watched Lion King with my mom and she LOVED it. LOVED it. We *may* have another AK (we'll vote our last day and AK will be the only park we won't have already visited twice) so it's possibly we may only time for one. Since she loved FOTLK, I'm sure she'd want to see it again, but maybe going to Nemo would be a nice change of pace and show her something new.

There are 2 things set in stone.
First: Lunch at Flame Tree. We did Yak and Yeti last trip and hated it.
Second: Dinner at Rainforest Cafe. DD loves it there, and we have 99 cent kid meal vouchers
ry%3D400

I'd also like to hit up Conservation Station as DS has never been there, and my mom didn't get to do the safari.

We may have to do a second day at AK to fit it all in.

When we were there in Jan, neither DH nor DD wanted to ride RNRC...I couldn't believe it! My DD loves that ride! I asked over and over...and finally it was their last chance and still they said no....I was bummed. I didn't want to ride it all alone so we never ended up riding. :sad2: This time I'm going to whine until someone agrees to ride with me!:snooty:

ToT is my favorite too! Looks like you all are going to have a fun day at DHS!

I love ToT. DD and DS do not, so I have to drag them on it with me. My mom doesn't do heights so she won't even look at the building ;)

This time I'm going to whine until someone agrees to ride with me!:snooty:

I'll send DD on it with you!!! :) I'm not a fan of loops, but RNR isn't bad. DS is tall enough for the first time, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to convince him to try it.

So, it's been an interesting week. On Tuesday I broke down and went to the doctor for a sinus infection I couldn't get rid of. I took my first dose of amoxocillin on Tuesday night and noticed I was itching but didn't think too much about it. Wednesday morning took the second dose and on the way to work realized I couldn't breathe or swallow very well :scared1: Luckily I drive right past the hospital on the way to work. After they got my breathing under control, I realized I had been scratching myself raw. I didn't even realize I was itchy!

After a few hours in the ER, epinephrine twice, Benadryl, Pepcid and steroids, I got to come home with a bunch of prescriptions and a new thing to add to my med alert bracelet allergy list. I've never had any allergies until the last few years. Now I'm having adverse reactions to the steroids. I look like I've been baked at 500 degrees for a couple of hours. Craziness!

I did make it to work for a little while yesterday but was itching so bad I had to come home and take the meds and a nap. Thankfully I'm off on Fridays and had the day to lay around and try and recuperate a little.

I've sat down and made the rest of our plans since the October hours are out, so I'll work on posting those soon!

OH NO !!! That must have been so scary!! I hope that you're feeling better soon and that nothing else EVER makes you break out like that again!!

OMG! I can't believe you rode RnRC 7 times in a row! I rode EE four times in a row and I was just "done" after that... And it is my favorite ride!

I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your recovery goes well!

Thank you. It was not fun at all! I've never had something like that happen before.

Seven times in the FRONT row. DD met a lovely college CM that loaded us up with fastpasses, then convinced someone to let her work the end of the line and kept sending us through either still on the ride, or through the "secret door" to get right back on again. I was so over that ride, and when we went back to DHS a few days later, the CM was there, remembered DD by name, and sent us back through the secret door a few more times. It made DD's trip, but I was not a fan :)

I'm still dealing with some residual medication side effects from the antibiotics and steroids, so I've been pretty much flat all weekend. It's maddening. Mondays are my worst days at work, but as long as I can make it until 11:00 or so, I can come home and work from here if I need to.

But, on to other topics, let's plan my next day!

Edited!

October 17th

Epcot day

This morning we'll be up bright and early because the kids are doing the YES class Ocean Discoveries. I'm excited. I know DD will love it. I love the discount ticket prices.

We always try to spend 2 full days at Epcot. One day we spent all our time in Future World, and one full day in the World Showcase. Since we won't be with our family yet and they like the rides, we'll do the World Showcase today.

Of course we'll have to do the Kim Possible missions and I think by then it will be Perry the Platypus, which will thrill my kids to no end!!! It was fun to watch my mom and her grandkids working together on clues.

And then we'll just enjoy the performers

the Food and Wine Festival
and maybe indulge in a drink or two
IMG_2063.jpg

Tonight is the night brother, SIL and nephew arrive. If they get in early enough, we'll meet them for dinner at Chef Mickeys
IMG_2529.jpg

I've also thought about asking SIL if she'd like to try Mickeys Backyard BBQ if she wants to do something different, but we'll see. If they aren't going to be there in time for dinner, I'm thinking maybe Garden Grill for us. It's one of our favorites and I'd much rather eat here than at CMs, but brothers family won't have park tickets for this day.
