A little confused

Hi, I am interested in renting points from a DVC member but before I do so I would like to fully understand what to expect. I know the DVC member would make the reservation on my behalf and then forward me the reservtion #. Am I able to verify this reservation with Disney providing I explain that the DVC member made the reservation for me? ALso, how does the Magic Express work? If I had reservations at the OKW and needed a ride from the airport, luggage and all, how do they know I'm qualified to take this shuttle with nothing but a reservation number?? I am confused?

You cannot call Member Services at any time. You can call the resort directly, maybe a day or two before the start of your reservation to confirm with them. If you want DME, you need to give that information to the member you are renting the reservation from and they will add it to your reservation.

No, you cannot do that. DVC will only communicate with the actual owner of the points. After the reservation is secured they will issue a printed comfirmation which is mailed to the member. He/She can forward that paper to you.

The only other thing you MAY be able to do is contact the actual resort 2-3 days ahead of time. Reservations are dumped to the resort computers a few days before check-in. By then, someone at the resort may be willing to look-up the reservation and confirm for you.

One of the pitfalls to renting points is that there is a lot of trust involved.

The DVC member can sign you up for DME. Once you are signed up, the luggage tags and other info will be mailed to your home the same a guests saying at cash resorts.
