A June 2011 PTR! (5/31 Top 5 things to do while waiting for Disney!!!)

Sounds so fun and hope you make it to the park opening and staying until 1AM~! :goodvibes

Magic Kingdom is the sweetest park, love it!
How have you never ridden Space Mountain?! Do you not like coasters? :confused3
You have to make it and tell us what you think.

popcorn::

I hope we make it too. But I'm sure we'll be needing that midday break.
And I actually love roller coasters, but when we went in 2009 it was down for refurbishment and then this past summer we were there with about 10 kids and never got a chance to get away and ride it. So i'm determined to finally get my 1st space mountain ride this trip :thumbsup2

Subbing!

Your planning binder is unbelievably fantastic!!!:upsidedow I wish I had seen yours while I was still in my early planning stage and could have taken a few pointers from you. :rotfl:

You should definitely go on Space Mountain. It took me two or three trips before I tried it, and I regreted waiting so long. The ride is great, and it gives you that thrill ride experience without the action thrill part. (If that makes any sense at all.)

I will definitely be going on space mountain this trip. We just keep missing it.:sad2: Your description sounds great, I can't wait to FINALLY ride it

So we got our first "big" snow last night. It was only a couple of inches, but it was enough to close schools. But a snow day is a perfect day to update a PTR and read on the DIS! :upsidedow

So Day 3 will be our Epcot day!

• Breakfast – Snack from Pepper Market

• Park opens @ 9am so we want to arrive sometime around then

• We want to focus more on Future World this day so we’ll mostly be staying in that area and riding as many rides as we can get in.

• Lunch- Coral Reef @ 1:00 pm

• More Rides and Attractions!

• Dinner- Sunshine Seasons

• Illuminations @ 9pm!

• Back to the resort for some pool/Jacuzzi time!

Of Course we'll have a break if we need it, but I feel like with all of the indoor attractions at in Future World it won't be as bad if we wanted to try stay all day

MUST DO!
Soarin’
Test Track (One of our Favorites)
Capatin EO (We both LOVE Michael Jackson)
Mission Space (We have never done this ride)
Club Cool (we’ll skip the Beverly this time though):crazy2:
Spaceship Earth
Sum of all Thrills (I’ve just recently heard about this in innoventions, where you get to make and ride your own rollercoaster and it sounds like a lot of fun so we’re going to give it a try).

So as I mentioned before, I am the primary planner of this trip. When I ask my DBF about the plans his usual response is, “You pick it out, you know what everything is,” :sad2:. However, even though he doesn’t like to plan he does like to know what’s going on as the trip gets closer. Usually this results in him asking me 50,000 questions and me being annoyed because I’ve answered the same question 50,000 times and because I have been talking about all of this for the last 6 months.

So our last trip I made him a little booklet that I stapled together with all of our flight info, hotel info, plans, etc. Well as I was reading on the DIS one day I discovered a new website called Blurb.com where you can make your own books. I thought this was a great idea and the quality would be way better than my little booklet from last year.

I made DBF the pocket size book so he could have everything he would need to know about our trip and it would be easy to carry with him. It’s about 30 pages long. :rolleyes1. The best part was it only cost me $2.95 because I received a free shipping code. I'm going to give it to him with his Christmas presents. It came in yesterday, so here is how it turned out.

That is such a brilliant idea. I especially loved how you explained what Counter Service, Table Service, etc is. When my DBF looked at our agenda, he was lost by all the acronyms and nicknames.

I think it's great that it's pocket-sized as well! You have such fabulous ideas!!!:wizard:

Thank You both! :goodvibes It just another thing I thought up to help keep me occupied until the trip as if school wasn't enough

The price was really just too good to pass up. I had to give it a try and everything was really easy to do. They have other things like photobooks and other books of all different sizes. I was really impressed with the quality as well.

I went to the mall a couple of days ago to finish up some Christmas shopping and decided to stop in Forever 21 and found that they had a lot of Disney shirts, mostly Minnie. These are some of the ones that I found on their website. I wanted to share in case anyone was interested.

Day 4 will be our Hollywood Studios Day!

• Breakfast – Snack from Pepper Market

• We want to try to get to the park around opening @ 9am

• Game Plan- Get in what rides and shows we can

• Lunch- 50’s Prime Time Café @ 1:00 pm

• More Rides and Shows

• Dinner – Either Starring Rolls Café or Pepper Market as we might leave to go to Downtown Disney this Day. But either way I have to get a cupcake from Starring Rolls. This is a MUST.:rotfl:

• We won’t do Fantasmic. We’ve seen it the last two times that we’ve gone and will probably want to do something else during that time if we are still in DHS

MUST DO!
Toy Story Mania (LOVE this ride)
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
American Idol Experience (DBF won this in 2009 but he didn’t end up winning the final show of the day) :guilty:
Animation Academy
Great Movie Ride
Starring Rolls Cupcake ;)

Day 5 is our 2nd and Final day in Epcot

• We’re going to sleep in a little on this morning

• Breakfast- Pepper Market CS

• We want to arrive at Epcot around 11am since that is when World Showcase opens

• We’ll just be working our way around the countries today and taking it easy. We might even try a Kim possible mission. We did it in 2010 with the older kids we went with at it was a lot of fun.

• Lunch- We might not be hungry since we’re having a later breakfast, but if so we’ll just eat at whatever CS looks appealing at that time

• More World showcase might ride a few rides in Future World

• Dinner- Tangierine Café (Morocco)

• Since we will have already seen Illuminations we’re going to head to the Boardwalk after Dinner

MUST DO!
Three Caballeros ride in Mexico
Maelstrom
Grey Goose Citron Lemon Slushie (I’ve heard so much about these, I’m finally old enough to try one :thumbsup2)

Unlike a lot of people, DH and I love MGM! Both times we went together we were newlyweds and without children in our lives. It may have been that we needed a more kid free feel in WDW and that park gave it to us (who know!?)
Why the cupcake necessity at Starring Rolls? :confused3

Aww, no Fantasmic. That show still makes me smile when I think about it. But you have a fun fourth day planned without it! :)

:thumbsup2 to sleeping in! LOL

Your day five sounds great. I've heard the grey goose slushies are a must!! Have fun having your first one! :)

Look at you and your mad organizational skills girl!! I'm speechless to be quite honest. With 3 kids it'd be a dream come true if I could be that organized! Those days are loooong gone but I still am in love with all the work you have put into your planning and organizing! GREAT job!

I've read a lot about the cupcakes at starring rolls here on the DIS and I here they are AMAZING. So I have to try one. I'm a big cupcake lover :)

Yeah we've seen Fantasmic the last two years so we don't feel too bad about missing it, but I Love the music to the show, I think it's one of the best ones at disney

I'm sure we'll be needing the sleep by this time. And I was so excited when DBF suggested coming back when I was 21. It's horrible reading about those slushies on the DIS knowing that you can't have one :rotfl:

Thank You so much! and :welcome:
My OCD tendencies definitely come out when planning a Disney Trip. DBF didn't believe me when I told him there were other people like me on the DIS. :lmao: I have just as much fun planning the trip as I do going on it  Your kids are adorable by the way.

Day 6 is our Animal Kingdom/DTD Day!!!

• Breakfast- Boma @ 8:00am

• Head to Animal Kingdom after we eat

• Get in all the rides and shows that we can

• Lunch @ Flame Tree BBQ

• Leave by 3pm

• Head back to the resort to get changed and head to Downtown Disney

• Dinner- Wolfgang Puck Express and Ghiradelli’s for Dessert!

• Cirque Du Soleil-La Nouba @ 9pm (B-day/Christmas Present from my Parents)

• Hang around DTD for a while then back to the resort

This is going to be a LONG day, so hopefully we can sneak in a quick nap between AK and DTD :thumbsup2

MUST DO!
Festival of the Lion King (LOVE this show)
Nemo the Musical (We’ve never seen this)
Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safari
Dinosaur (I’m actually scared of this ride  but I’m going to suck it up this trip)
Rafiki’s Planet Watch- I really want to meet Pocahontas and Jiminy Cricket

So I'm sitting here listening the Walt Disney station on Pandora and decided to go through some of my pictures and I found our Disney 2009 pics. Since I didn't do a trip report then, I decided that I would share some them with you here!:) (clearly I have a lot of time on my hands today :rotfl2:).

We Left for Disney on June 7, 2009. It was a late afternoon flight.
This is us on the plane

We didn't get to our All Star Sports until around 10pm I believe but Magic Kingdom had extra magic hours until 1am so we went to spend a little time there before going back to the room to sleep.

We didn't ride many things, just walked around but we did do Mickey's Philharmagic which was DBF's first disney attraction and is still his favorite

Our first official Day in the parks started at Hollywood Studios
018.jpg

Our first ride was Rock 'n' Roller coaster after we picked up TSM fastpasses

We did a lot of exploring this day and took ALOT of pictures

Later in the day I finally convinced DBF to try out for the American Idol Experience and they loved him
047.jpg

They let the families in to watch them practice so I was able to video tape part of his practice I didn't get the enitre song though. Here is the video!

He won his first show but didn't win the show at the end of the day. It was a lot of fun. However I will say that it is a very time consuming experience

The funny thing about this is that before our trip I told DBF that all his dreams would come true in Disney world ;) So he told me that his dream was that he wanted a bunch of people to cheer for him and scream his name when we were there.
Well before each performance they have a little segment that features the singer, and in his they had a crowd of people outside screaming virge! virge! virge! :lmao: I almost died when I saw it. later I told him, "See, I told you your dreams would come true in Disney World." He didn't know what to say ;)

After that we went to see Fantasmic and people were recognizing him and telling him what a great job he did. A little girl on the bus ride home even asked for his autograph. He said he couldn't believe it and it was only the first day:rotfl: I love disney magic!:lovestruc

I'm totally subscribing to your PTR! Your organizational skills are amazing. I hope you don't mind if I borrow some of your ideas as i'm planning my first trip to Disney for June 7-14 this upcoming year!!!!
