A Jolly Holiday with Masseys: THE TRIP REPORT - WDW Dec2019

Do you have a lightsaber too?
Nah. I won't buy one until they make them able to cut through steel.

(And I hate how you quoted my typo! There/their/they're! :sad2:
But I did fix it on my original post.)
Shouldn't these be "exploding helicopters"?
:lmao:
I actually thought the same thing! "Should be exploding helicopters."

I was pressed for time.
I'm sorry.
That's okay. I'll just go eat it while standing... outside... in the rain...
We were sooooo scared of the Storm Troopers.

We still have these bottles but I don't know what we're going to do with them.

That's exactly why I've never bought one. Just know I'd put it in a cupboard and never use it. I did get the Orb sipper though and love and use it for Saturday cocktails. It lights up and is so fun!!

The helicopter in this photo kind of messes up the ambiance of the area.

Yeah, at every park. Hate that thing- really ruins the Bubble.

Love this one!!

It was really crowded in there so we had to do some table stalking.

With Covid, table issues were worse. Now that distancing has gone back to normal, I'm hoping it eases up. A reason I also try to eat at the off hours.

I'm looking forward to eating what I want to eat.

A bonus with solo trips!

Isn't the theming so fun!!

There is so much going on in this ride it's hard to catch it all. I'm so glad we got another ride on it in May.

Yeah, I felt that too with my first few rides. Kinda like sensory overload. THe next times it got more "sensible" to me and I enjoyed it more.

Well we're back, alive and recovering. We had a great trip but it was soooooo hot and we've been super busy since getting back.

Welcome back!

Saturday was John Paul's birthday.

Happy Birthday! :cool1:

They were basically offers for DCPers wanting to start on June 15 or the week after. Right before the cut off Danielle got her offer.

Awesome!

Once Danielle was done with Casting we took more pictures. I think taking pictures in front of Casting is a rite of passage.

I love this look back of how it all happens!

They girls still had lots of setting up and they all needed to spend some bonding time together plus I was worn out.

I bet! That sounds like an exhausting day!

Danielle went all out and did everything with a theme of "Princess and the Frog".

So cute!

Jimmy and I have a BABY coming this December.

Congratulations!

I don't think I shared any actual graduation photos, so here we go.

Congratulations! Lots of exciting stuff happening!

She will start off her time as Food & Beverage in Epcot in the Festival Booths.

That sounds pretty cool to be working in EP :thumbsup2

I'm so excited, but you know what the worst part of a surprise trip? Not being able to share the excitement with anyone else.
Congrats again! That is such wonderful news!

She checks into the apartment complex at 10 am on the 15th.
That's TOMORROW!!! I am sure you are super busy today! Good Luck!

Not sure what they will be doing in between Flower & Garden ending on July 5th and Food & Wine starting on July 15th.
Interesting... Man I wish we were going to say hi! It will be easier to find her at food booths!

I did get the Orb sipper though and love and use it for Saturday cocktails. It lights up and is so fun!!

That does sound fun.

Love this one!!

Thank you!

A bonus with solo trips!

I'm looking forward to eating where I want to eat but a little nervous to be eating alone.

Isn't the theming so fun!!

Yes it is!

Yeah, I felt that too with my first few rides. Kinda like sensory overload. THe next times it got more "sensible" to me and I enjoyed it more.

I enjoyed it so much more in May.

Welcome back!

Thanks Kelly!

Happy Birthday! :cool1:

I will pass on your well wishes for him.

I love this look back of how it all happens!

I like reliving it too. I'm really sad I'm not with her this time around but I think she's ready to do it on her own.

I bet! That sounds like an exhausting day!

It really was. She has to go through all this again tomorrow but everything will be done on the campus of the complex where they all live so not as much running around in circles.

Congratulations!

Thank you!

Congratulations! Lots of exciting stuff happening!

It's been a very busy few months.

That sounds pretty cool to be working in EP :thumbsup2

I think she will like having a different experience.

That's TOMORROW!!! I am sure you are super busy today! Good Luck!

She will have a very busy day tomorrow. They had a very long drive today.

Interesting... Man I wish we were going to say hi! It will be easier to find her at food booths!

I was thinking the same thing. Working in the Castle was great but you only get to see the people that go to eat at the castle. She will get to see so many more people working at the food booths.

We had a very busy weekend getting Danielle ready to leave for Florida. She and Meredith(Me) made the drive down today. They left a little after 5 am this morning and checked into their hotel around 4 this afternoon. The went to dinner at TREX after resting up a bit. Tomorrow is their official check in and they get started. Danielle already has her schedule for the first week. After she finished training she will be working one afternoon/night at Citrus and an opening shift in the Outpost.

We packed her car the night before while it was pouring rain.

They hit Florida by 8:30 am.

Danielle and Meredith enjoying their best Disney Life.

I mentioned that both Meredith (Me) and Mi (Mik) are doing blogs for their DCP. Mik actually started one for 2020 but of course that didn't go far. Danielle is a third wheel in a few of their videos but they usually refer to her as Ellie. Meredith's You Tube blog is "magic with mer" and Mik's is "Magically Mik".

Danielle looks like she’s off to a great start and having lots of fun already. I’m sure you’re relieved and happy to know she’s arrived safely. Here’s hoping things run a lot more smoothly this time around. How long does her program last?

You might have a bit of wait before that happens.
6-8 weeks? That's pretty standard, right?
You did great. Next time you can add the "exploding helicopters.
Deal!
They left a little after 5 am this morning and checked into their hotel around 4 this afternoon.
Not bad.
After she finished training she will be working one afternoon/night at Citrus and an opening shift in the Outpost.
mmmm... Citrus...
Look at those excited/smiling faces! :goodvibes

Yep! Still excited!

Wow, just came back to check up and SO MUCH NEWS!! I am so happy for Danielle that she gets to go back and live her dream, and lovely that she got to finish her degree first. And super congrats about the new precious addition to the family! Michelle is going to be even busier! And John Paul has grown SO much!
It was so much fun reading this TR, and I am looking forward to lots of visits and news now that Danielle is there again. It is fun hearing all about the Disney experience from the inside and I bet Danielle feels kind of like a pro now! Hope her new roommates are very congenial.

She is having lost of fun but realized on that first day how hard it is to do everything on her own. I hurt to hear about her frustration but it will also be a great learning experience. Her room is still not finished but she was really proud of herself that she could get to Target without using WAZE now. Her program ends on January 20th. Seems so far away.

It has all worked out for the best. My greatest fear the last time was she would go down there and never come back to finish her degree, now I just have to worry that she might not come back.

And super congrats about the new precious addition to the family! Michelle is going to be even busier! And John Paul has grown SO much!

Thank you! The time for this pregnancy is flying by for her. John Paul has grown up so much and is so funny. The things that come out of his mouth keeps us laughing.

I'm really enjoying following along this time around by watching the blogs her friends are doing. I get to see some much more of Danielle than last time. I like the insider info too and this program is so different from previous ones. She has met 2 of her roommates but the 3rd hasn't arrived yet. She is hoping it's the girl she matched up with and requested but won't know for sure until the 28th. The other two girls are nice but she is just meeting them for the first time. They were both random. One girl is 20 and the other is 28 so I'm sure they have lots to learn about each other. She is spending most of her time reconnecting with Mer & Mik. I really hope she gets out of her comfort zone and meets more.

Nah, no way! Lots to people watch and sights and sounds to take it. You're gonna love it!! CAtch up on trip notes, take photos, relax, breeeeeeeeattthhheee.....

I hope so. My time will be arranged around when I can spend time with Danielle so I'm really glad I won't be tied to any definite plans everyday. I would love to met up with any other Disers or CP parents but need my time to be flexible.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads, Step-Dads and Father Figures both here on Earth and in Heaven! I hope you have the BEST DAY EVER!

We're still recovering form the Hurricane Danielle. She left a mess when she left for Disney. Hopefully today I'll finish up cleaning up. The CPs have been really busy. They try to have an activity for them every day at the complex where they are living. It is soooooo nice. She has been slowly working on her room and still not done. She has also been spending time with her old roommates. I've really enjoyed seeing her in action by watching their blogs. I didn't get this inside view last time around. They have made many trips to Target and Publix. They did a Skyliner Resort tour and tried to finish the Kitchen Sink. Saturday was their Traditions class and they finished with dinner I think at the Wave but she hasn't confirmed that yet but she did send me a picture from the Contemporary.

She is off today and tomorrow but starts training on Tuesday and Wednesday with Mer. She will actually be in the Citrus booth on Thursday and will spend the better part of her birthday in the Outpost booth on Friday.

If I can get my cleaning done early I'm hoping to post another DHS update.

Thanks for still sticking with us.

Totally understandable!! And as it should be! It'll definitely be a different kind of trip but it'll still be wonderful I'm sure. :)
We're still recovering form the Hurricane Danielle.

I was wondering about you guys. Hope the damage and mess weren't too terrible!!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads, Step-Dads and Father Figures both here on Earth and in Heaven! I hope you have the BEST DAY EVER!
Thanks!

 Oh dear!
They try to have an activity for them every day at the complex where they are living.
Really! Huh! That's pretty good. I had no idea they weren't just left to their own devices after training was complete.
They did a Skyliner Resort tour and tried to finish the Kitchen Sink.
I wouldn't mind doing a skyliner tour. Sounds fun. And some day... I'll tackle that Sink (but only with some help. Otherwise it'd just go to waste... or waist... whichever.)
Cute shots. :)
