We just got back from our DLR vacation! Due to the amazing help and advice here on the DISboards, we had an amazing, amazing trip!

Before the trip, my husband would complain that I was spending too much time on the computer reading the DISboards. The second day in the parks, after collecting a huge stack of FPs and walking from ride to ride with almost no wait time, he turned to me and said, "OK. I take it all back. It was worth all that time you spent researching."

So, a HUGE shoutout to all of you who helped make our daughter's first trip so amazing!

Ditto, ditto, ditto! So funny:lmao:my husband said the same thing about me. By the second day he was a rope-dropping, fast pass collecting machine. Glad you had a great trip!

So glad you guys had such a great trip. This board is so full of handy hints and information.

I don't know what I'd do without the Dis boards! I've learned so many valuable tips as well as gotten my Disney fix when I'm going through withdrawal! Glad you had a great trip!

That's what we're here for. A bunch of Disneyophiles who want nothing more than to help each other enjoy Disney as much as possible. One of the best online communities I've ever seen.

Glad you enjoyed it. Now, if only the planets would align correctly so that I'll have the time and money at the same time so I can go too.

Totally agree with you guys - everyone laughed at how much time I spent reading this board. The only thing I wanted to make sure my 8yo son got to do was Jedi Training Academy. Thanks to tips from this board ... our very first day ... the first show .... he got picked! My hubby was impressed!

Exactly the same for us. I spent ages on this board and the internet in general in the few weeks before we went to the USA. Through that time invested I saved us hundreds of dollars and made sure that my sons got to see and do everything they would love there, like all 3 getting picked for jedi training first try. My hubby is used to me doing this so he just went with the flow, but I'm glad to see the husbands above learning their lesson lolz!

LOL, I sense a pattern here! My DH thought I was psycho when planning, even saying in his TR:

Be sure to make the weet, weet, weet Psycho sound while reading her PTR. Miming the downward knife stroke is optional.

But he does grudgingly admit that all my research paid off!

Hey, I am the planner in my family! It is not always the husbands who are the clueless ones!

This really is a great board! I find it especially helpful if you only have a day or two in the parks - so many time savers and so much fabulous advice on the board! My family thought that I was crazy for insisting on hovering around waiting for the rope to drop near the Mad Hatter after the fireworks ended...UNTIL they saw how quickly the Peter Pan/Toad's line grew behind us instantaneously. They also doubted me when I insisted on renting a locker to hold all of our jackets, snacks, etc. the moment we entered Disneyland, but they were SO HAPPY to have them once the sun went down and the air chilled. And they quickly grew to love the wait time aps we downloaded too. I seriously would have had NO IDEA about any of these tricks had I not read it here first. :worship:

I was actually thinking about this on the way home from our trip - I wonder how much we would have missed out on had I not found all of the great tips and advice here!

Glad your trip went so well!
After getting so many tips, our trip went so well that my DH was convinced we do it again next year!:cool1:

Me too. Planning can make a world of difference. One of my co-workers knew I was a Disney fan, and when he decided to take his family to WDW, he asked for advice. Once he got back he was so appreciative I was kinda embarrassed!
I think that the people who grumble about and don't like a Disney theme park visit are the ones who don't do even a little bit of research. All the information you need is at the end of a search engine and a discussion board.
Why is it that some folks will spend hours trying to pick out the "perfect" electronic gadget, and then do absolutely NO research on a vacation that will cost them four times as much money?

Brad, the seriously dedicated vacation planner.

I was excited to reply to this and let you know that I'm in the exact same boat (although we're still in the planning stages....DH already has a headache watching me plan) -- but so many people have already posted saying the same thing. Isn't it nice to know we're not alone? :grouphug:

We already know that the knowledge I have received here since joining is going to make our next visit that much better. Going at Christmas is daunting, but I believe that with the FP tips and MM directions I have gotten here, we'll be able to maximize our riding and show watching time. I know it will all be long waits and lots of people, but we're up for the challenge. I've always believe that knowledge is power and you all have given me lots of power for this trip!
