You could probably get two rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the price of what you'd pay for a single room at the Poly.
Renting any room from Disney has the same cancellation policy, including rooms at DVC hotels. For cash bookings, I've put in some different dates and there is availability for 2BR at CCV at BLT, but for significantly more (like, another $3000-5000). And it comes and goes by the minute.
Only my family of 6 would go. If that one person cannot go for any reason, both grandparents would be out. If it's that serious of a reason, none of us would go.
Can I cancel a DVC reservation for "change of mind" even with trip insurance. I've read about some trip insurances only cover health situation with specific physician notes, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion. So I just checked and I two rooms would be about 1,000 more. Something to consider! That means our family would need two connecting and grandparents would be separate. You could probably get two rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the price of what you'd pay for a single room at the Poly.
2 rooms is $3000 more. So, then we look at space of rooms vs resort.2 rooms garden wing cheaper than 1 poly? if you can get connecting/next door rooms than the kids can spread out a bit more.
Sorry about it that! For us it’s helpful to see total cost since cost per night is varying with all the different date combinations I’m looking at. I get your point!Maybe it’s just me but I wish people would report cost per night when talking about resort prices.

your dates are locked? Disney with 7 people is def not cheap. especially trying to book a monorail resort without dvc. I am assuming you are pricing 400-600 a night? If you move over to a value or a mod for 200-250 a night you could comfortably get 2 rooms and pay for ubers to go where you want and skip busses. We are looking at 7 nights

Also your base price is based off 1 room for 6+a baby? or 2 rooms one with 5 one with 2? This really matters because your base brice might not even function and worth being a "base"
What about swan/dolphin? Walking distance /boat to 2 parks. You can in theory monorail over to mk if you park hop to it from Epcot. Or Uber/Lyft to both mk/AK. Or is being on Bay lake monorail a make or break ?
Is skyliner an option? Also s/d have busses but the drop off for mk is the ttc. But you can walk to the other busses at yacht beach/ board walk.Thanks. I had it pulled up swan/Dolphin to look at, but just didn’t get there, yet. Is transportation to other parks as good as Disney?
We will probably not do park hopper to save $ on that portion.
Walking to Epcot and HS is an option, but it would be about 20 minutes to HS for the person pushing the wheelchair (will not be electric). Still keeping those in our back pocket. So, thanks! It just seems having guaranteed transport to at least MK x2 and Epcot is easier than counting on walking Epcot/HS. Boat isn’t an option.

The walk to HS is all flat the walk to Epcot has a little hill right as you hit the park but both are nice walks, and won't be much different than pushing in the park.
I am not 100% on your parties limitations. Is it fear of small spaces? Heights? Tight spots? I think this is better info to help offer better ideas.Skyliner is not an option.
I will definitely take another look into those area resorts and costs. We are planning to go to all 4 parks with MK at least twice and another twice, but don’t know which one…I’ve heard some do Epcot twice, some do HS twice.. Do you think it would still be beneficial to be at those resorts knowing that?

Monorail is pretty high off the ground and makes stops depending on the lvl of fear. Taking a bus from Mk area to AK will be a minimum of 25min once you board. Some buses will be so packed people will be standing and crotch in people's faces sitting down. I feel Uber/Lyft for your party might be the best option due to the pickup drop off are usually right at the gate (not MK) but if monorail isn't an issue u just go from ttc to mk. So with that in mind a resort in the middle would actually make bus times shorter or Ubers cheaper in the long run. It’s tricky to explain the limitations. But, yes, fear of heights for skyliner, fear of the water with the boat. Can’t be on the bus for too long because of the noise in a small confined space. So, can’t do a resorts with lots of stops.

I hope you find something to work for your family and have a great trip.
