A Guide to Going to Disney on Your Birthday!

Thanks for the reminder. I'm going 10/3 to 10/10w/my mom & 3 yo DS. We were just trying to get in for the MYW dining special, but coincidentally my mom's birthday is 10/7. I'd really like to have some special birthday moments. She really loves WDW but hasn't been in a LONG time. I remember celebrating my 15th?? birthday (way back when) and it was great. I think I had a cake at every meal. But I don't remember my mom spending 15 each?? With the dining plan I wasn't planning on spending that much extra every night. Maybe once or twice. I'll have to have my sister (travel agent)call to mention her birthday. Thanks again.

We are going to Disney at the end of July...Me, the aunt, Sister, the other aunt, Sister, the mother, Jason the Birthday boy who will be turning 13 and his friend that we are surprising him with that moved away. He has been sad lately that his friend Nick moved. I want to make his birthday special as they are coming from CT. I live in Central Florida and we are only doing Disney two days, one park and one water park. Jason's actual birthday will be one of those days. We are staying off Disney at Embassy Vacation Resort. I want to do shirts, but what else should I do? Is there a place we should go for dinner that I can get a cake made for him? Which fireworks are the best, we will have a one day park hopper? HELP....

Great Tips! I will be celebrating my birthday in WDW in August and we are taking our daughter for her birthday in February - what could be more fun!! I love the part about having the hotel room decorated! :earsboy:

I was so happy to see this thread. I will be celebrating my 31st bday in Aug in WDW my first bday there and I am so excited and I had been thinking about hamming it up to get the attention but felt kind of embarressed to do it, but this thread gave me the courage. I want it all, phone call, card and balloons in my room, free dessert and some songs and a special memories certificate and anything Tinkerbell! I wondered about ordering my own birthday cake..

Hey I am celebrating my 31st bday in October. This thread is great. I know I am getting a bday card and small cake at LTT. The card is from the characters. I can't wait.

I love these tips! We'll be in WDW for my DD's 16th bday in October and I can't wait...esp. like the autograph book idea...We were there for her 13th bday too, and she had a blast wearing the pin and getting special recognition. Thanks for all your info!! :flower:

WOW! Awesome ideas! I am going for my 21st birthday in November. The only thing is 2 other people in my group's birthday is in the same week. Do you think that the Disney people will think that we are trying to scam them when we celebrate our 3 birthdays there. It's not even Un-birthdays, all real birthdays. :flower:

That is so great! You can call it birthWEEK instead of birthDAY. No, the Disney people won't get suspicious at all; don't worry about that. Have a great time!

Oh, I loved reading this! Thanks for the tips! :flower:

We are planning our next Disney trip for December 2006 and will be there for both mine and my daughters birthdays. She'll be turning 6 and I'll be turning....woah....30! :scared:

your age is great, I wish I was turning 30. Instead I am a grandmama now and my DGD will be turning 4 at the begining of the week while we are at WDW and my BD will be at the end of the week. It is great to have them so close together like you and your DD. Obviously my 30's are gone. Have a great trip and Happy Birthday to both of you. :cake: :jumping2:

We went in June and the primary reason was to celebrate our oldest Son's 5th birthday. But we were also celebrating my Mom's as well as my Husbands. Since our stay was 10 days long and it was to celebrate Parker's birthday...he wore a birthday pin all week long at every park we went to. The first day of our trip was actually my Mom's birthday so they were both wearing bday buttons that day. Then later in the week my Husband wore his birthday buttons for a couple of days along with our Son since we were going to be heading home and my DH's actual bday was just a few days after our trip. Nobody questioned or thought that we were trying to "scam". On our first day at the park the Jungle Cruise driver lead the entire boat in singing happy birthday to all three of them! Disney is the most magical place to spend your birthday! Now if I can just figure out how to get back there in November for mine!!!

Thanks for the great ideas! We are going Aug 30-Sept 5 and we will be celebrating my 30th--well, almost. I don't turn 30 until the end of Sept but who cares? It's my b-day trip and I am CELEBRATING!!!!

What's this about the hair cut and pixie dust? I always seem to get my haircut during my vacations (strange, but true :confused3 ) and I LOVE pixie dust. Where can I find hair cuts and pixie dust?

We'll be celebrating three birthdays when my DH and three DD's go in October. All three birthdays occur within two weeks of each other, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate! We're going to assign one day to each of the three of us to celebrate. Our DD12 will get the day we go to her favorite park, AK, DD16 will get Epcot, and I'll get MK, of course!

Now I'm feeling bad for the third DD10, whose bd is not until February. Do you think we should give her an un-birthday day?

When you come into MK, the barbour shop is on your left just past the fire statation, you will see the tell tale pole. We discovererd this last year and are so doing it again for our boys! It is a must do!! Girls get dust and boys get colored hair gel with a micky shape geled into the back of the head. DS 1 was blue and the other red. It stuck for 2 days, then we went to the pool so, I washed it out first.

Awesome bump, we are taking DS 1 for his 7th birthday from late sept to early oct. I knew about many of the perks but, not all!

Yay my thread is helping people!!!

I hope everyone whos going has a WONDERFUL birthday!

We are going to be celebrating my DD's 14th b-day next August while we are at the World!! Cannot think of a better place to celebrate!! I have gotten so many good Ideas here. This is a great thread!! Thanks to everybody!

This thread is full of some really good ideas! I've never paid attention to birthdays at WDW before, but my nephew will turn 10 during his "me and Aunt Jen only" vacation next June. I just love planning my trips, so I've started a bit early at toying with what we would do. Our first park day is his actual 10th birthday. How would you plan a birthday day at WDW for 10 yo boy?

Breakfast
Morning Park/Activity
Lunch
Afternoon Park/Activity
Supper
Evening Park/Activity

Cheers!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the incredible birthday advice you had given me the last couple of months. I just got back last night (8/2/05). My husband and I surprised our daughter for her 7th birthday. This was one trip that she (and I) will NEVER forget. We took all your advice and my daughter was treated like a true princess on her actual birthday. The birthday pin brought sooooooo much attention to her ~ and she loved it !!! She was given special pins by various castmemembers in Magic Kingdom, one CM called Goofy for her on the phone and had him sing Happy Birthday to her, the conductor on the WDW Railroad had the whole train sing Happy Birthday, She was asked to march in a parade at The Crystal Palace with Tigger and Eeyore, and they brought a cake out and sang to her, Pop Century Resort filled our room with balloons and a special autographed picture and birthday card from Minnie.............I could go on and on..........LOL !! I was amazed at how special she was treated..........from wearing one little pin. Thank you again. Keep up your great advice. I am going back again in 2 weeks with my soon to be 19 year old daughter (8/19 - 8/22/05). She is actually taking me, for my belated birthday gift. I can't wait to go back !! Dreams really do come true :)
