A Guide to Going to Disney on Your Birthday!

These are all great ideas...

What do you do when more than one person is celebrating a birthday during your visit? I will be celebrating my bday on the last day of our trip, but DS3 and DD1 will be celebrating their bdays within 2 weeks of our trip. We're going before DS bday so we don't have to pay admission for him!

Uh oh! What do you mean by the Hoop Dee Doo embarrasses the heck out of you on your birthday! We are going there on my birthday. I'm not sure if my husband mentioned my birthday or not when he made the reservation.

OH MY!

DBF and I were thinking of celebrating my birthday this June at Disneyworld but now that I've read this thread...it's a must do!!!! :teeth:

I'm totally thrilled about the pins and even t-shirts...sappiness to the extreme :rotfl:

Joe, if you read this...take notes :teacher:

Its simple. You can choose to celebrate both birthdays, on one day, or stretched out over the coarse of the vaca. Or choose days for your kids. Mon - your DS on Mon. at Epcot. Your DD on Tues. at MGM, Your birthday on the last day at Magic Kingdom. Its up to you!!

awesome ideas! where did you get the mickey club tshirts made?

I made them. Wal-mart + Puffy Paint + Haines Shirts + Sponge Letters = Under 10 dollars memory making fun. (if your artistic, like I am, i drew the logo out, and colored it in with puffy paint!)

Great post! You sound like you're a ton of fun I'd love to hear your tips on paying only $200 for 4 people for 3 nights like you mentioned

Well, its not very DISBoards. Because we stay off-site most of the time, my fav. place to stay is the Cypress Point Villas, where they have an AWESOME volcano themed pool, mini golf onsite, and VERY NICE rooms. A one bedroom villas at peak season is only 63/night. We have AP's, or we get discos because we know people who work there, so our admission is always free. And then we split food everywhere, as well as bringing food to eat in the hotels. I beleive there is a way to Disney at any budget.

And to everyone who is going on their Birthdays HAVE A GREAT TIME, and make sure to make a trip report, so i can see how your birthday came out!!

Also... Check out my trip report of my last birthday!!! It was AMAZING! (its in the sig)

I love it!! I'll be spending my 38th birthday in WDW in December... these sound like some great ideas!!!!!!!

I've seen magical moments certificates mentioned several times on these boards, but haven't been successful in my searches in finding out what they are.

Please help! Thank you!

I read this and just HAVE To go there now for my birthday -- and thanks to yoru ideas -- I have figured out our MNSSHP costumes... My dad's birthday is the day before we go to MNSSHP - so we are going to do the MMC shirts and then put on the back of his that he is celebrating his birthday!

I will make the shirts myself with iron on paper and my computer... that way it is cheeper :) YEAH!

Oh yeah - and now I am plotting a return visit to Orlando in Feb so I can get the birthday treatment - HEHEHE!

Do you guys think it would be OK to celebrate your b'day at Disney 3 months later??

Walt Disney World was built to be a stage. When you enter the Magic Kingdom, you are walking onto the stage. If you want to act out your birthday, then I don't see any problems with it. I'll wish you a happy birthday if I see you :)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY AT DISNEY SCINCE I WAS 6 (now 13) AND I'VE NEVER KNOWN ANY OF THIS ---SOMEBODY SLAP ME NOW!!!! OK so i figure im going back again this year and i plan to use your ideas to the fullest!

This thread is great. We decided to go in October to first off visit my dad and it turned into going from Boyenten Beach and driving to Disney for 7 days. I called and got our MNSSHP tickets and called back and booked LTT. The CM asked if anyone was celebrating a bday. I said I was. I said it wasn't on the day that we were doing LTT, but it was the next day. He said it didn't matter and if anyone is going to LTT on 10-27-05 you will see me with a cake that I will be getting. I will be so full. So come July when I make all the PS, I will make sure everyone knows that it's my bday and see what wonderful things might happen. I am diffently getting my bday pins.

I am not artistic at all!!! We are celebrating dd4's b'day in August. I would LOVE to make her a shirt, any easy ideas???

Very cool. We will be celebrating my 31st. DW is celebrating hers on 8-8-05. Too bad we cannot be there then.

What if your bday was a couple of months before you go? Is it wrong to celebrate theirs as well?

Birthdays at WDW are the BEST!! We were there for my 48th BD, and DH & I had our haircut at MK, Pixie dust & all...

What's this about the hair cut and pixie dust? I always seem to get my haircut during my vacations (strange, but true :confused3 ) and I LOVE pixie dust. Where can I find hair cuts and pixie dust?

We'll be celebrating three birthdays when my DH and three DD's go in October. All three birthdays occur within two weeks of each other, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate! We're going to assign one day to each of the three of us to celebrate. Our DD12 will get the day we go to her favorite park, AK, DD16 will get Epcot, and I'll get MK, of course!

Now I'm feeling bad for the third DD10, whose bd is not until February. Do you think we should give her an un-birthday day?

We leave for our WDW trip May 19th and arrive May 20th. My birthday is May 21st, 39th B-day!! This is the first time I've celebrated my b-day in WDW and I'm so excited!

I will be leaving Wednesday (my B-Day) and heading to WDW to celebrate it at the most magical place on Earth. I can't wait. Not sure I will do anything because I don't like to draw attention to myself. But we did all of the things listed for my DD's 6th B-day this past February. And she loved it.

You could do what we did..

Plain white Hanes cotton shirts ( 5 of them are like 9.47 at wal-mart)
Buy some spongy letters ( .99 at Wal-mart)
Buy Puffy Paint (2.49 for one big bottle at WM)

On the front of the shirt, Mickey mouse club style, put the name of the person who will be wearing it.

On the back you can put "Today is my birthday" for the birthday boy/girl. For everyone else, you can say, Today is NOT my birthday, or Today is my Un-Birthday.

As for transfering the puffy paint to the sponge, i found dipping it in a pile of puffy pain, and then going over it with a painbrush worked great!

Check my Trip Report for pictures of our shirts.....

Hi All! Going to be at Disney for BF's 30th July 4th week. His first Disney trip :earboy2: Can you recommend a nice (romantic) place for dinner that might serve a cake and how do I go about getting a res there with just 7 weeks until our trip? Also, I have a sneeking suspicion that I may get engaged on this trip :cheer2:

A magical moments certificate is given out when a Cast Member deems a moment Magical. This can happen for a birthday, a wedding, a honeymoon, your child's first <fill in the blank>. They are meant dock a moment, to make a magical moment even more magical. The only thing is, you CAN NOT request a certificate be given to you. It just has to happen.

The certificate is signed by the cast member with the date and why the moment is magical.

I have mine framed, and on a wall.

Hope this helps!
