Hey you're going on MY birthday!!! Which day of that trip is your birthday?? Is it the 3rd?

No, its actually April 12th. With everyone's school schedules this year we had to go as soon as possible. Plus We have to do a weekend and the 12th is a tuesday. Were doing the parks on the 2nd. But i'll think of you when im at disney having my birthday fun!!! Happy Birthday!

Thank you for the tips! We are going to WDW for DD's sweet 16! I really like the autograph book idea, that would be such a great keepsake for her! :flower:

I cant explain how great it is to see how excited (and confused) some people get. I guess they feel like minor celebrities. Some people write memorable things on their own, but you can always ask them to sign it something like " Man wearing the banana hat" (there was this guy with a hat with bananas on it) that way later on, when your reading it, you'll have a direct memory to who signed it. Plus the characters write really sweet things. And the cast members usually write funny things.

What about in the resorts? I thought I had heard long ago that they have a call like the wake up call. Any thing else? Should we mention it when we make the reservations or when we check in?
DS will be 7 on our trip. :earsboy:

Do it when you make the reservations. At the hotel seems to be too late. Literally, when the rep answers the phone, say Hi, i need to make reservations for My (daughters) Birthday at disney. The way their systems work, they can offer you more options if you tell them upfront. Not to mention *sometimes* (and i mean SOMETIMES) they give you *birthday discount perks* (such as....extending the time period the discount (ie FL resident) takes effect... one year it only went through like april 10th. right in the middle of our vaca)

After you get through all of your options, And just in case your disney rep sucks, You have the option to

A. Order a gift basket.
B. Have them do anything to the room you want.
C. Order a cake that can appear at any time during the disney trip.
D. Ask them about any other birthday options they have.

All of those things come with a price.

If you dont want to pay for disney magic, youd just like to pay for the hotel room, MAKE SURE you tell them who your, or your daughters, favorite disney character is. MAKE SURE THEY MAKE NOTE OF IT on the reservation. ( 99% of the time at some point during the trip, you'll receive an autographed photo surprise in the room, along with confetti.) You can receive a wakeup call as well. (im pretty sure they can program it to be the Mickey, or Goofy call that actually says its your birthday, otherwise its just mickey saying its time to wake up. (still pretty cool) Also on Disney.com (i think...do a google search if im wrong) You can order a wake up call from a disney princess. or character. My mom always orders me one from Ariel, its great, she says your name and says she wishes she could spend the day with you and you hear flounder in the background and water sounds, and theyre only like 3 bucks. Also you can go to http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/, and they can go EXTREME lengths for birthdays, im way to cheap for this stuff, because its expensive, but a friend of mine did one of the birthday scavenger hunts and it was amazing. To my knowledge, that is the extent of the Disney Magic at the resorts. Hope that helps and i hope your daughter has a magical birthday! :)

(gosh i talk a lot.. ;) )

Hey! I'll be celebrating my 40th birthday the end of November at WDW!!!

I'm thinking of having T-shirts made for my family. Not sure where to get them or what words to have one them.

Anyone here have any ideas or photos of personalized birthday shirts? I'd love to see some photos!!

I'm a little shy but I think I'll enjoy the extra attention, my DH on the other hand will be so embarrassed!! I don't even know if I could get him to where the shirt! :teeth:

My boyfriend wont go on my birthday. He HATES the attention. Were gonna pick a day and privatly celebrate both birthdays for us since our birthdays exaclty 6 months apart. Its ok. I like going with my friends.

I spent my 16th birthday in Disney and just loved it! Since then I have spent many birthdays there! The one this year will be special... :rotfl:

You see Disneyland and I are the same young age! :cool1:

Greenyskp, if you see a 15 year old boy walking around on April 3 with a birthday button, say hello to my grandson.

We are taking daughter, SIL and three GC to DW their spring break. Trying to decide what to do for GS b-day. You've given me some ideas.

Hey does this work for a mommy of 4 who is going to be 37? Sorry forgot to mention we will be at MGM on my Birthday.

Yes it does. I've several birthdays as well as anniversaries in WDW. My last was our 30th anniversary in April

Oh I'm so glad to read this!! My husband won't be turning 26 until August 24th, but since our trip will be in the beginning of August, I wanted to do a few things to help celebrate his birthday (especially since no one ever make s abig deal out of his birthday...and last couple of years, his family literally forgot it and then treated him badly when he asked if we could all get together for the cake HE was buying). So I'm really glad to see this...he'll be treated like a star at one of our favorite places in the world!!

man that would be great, but my b'day and my son's b'day will never fall on a date when we can go to disney.

I just got a catalog from Disney Direct and you can get personalized shirts through them for the whole family, or sweatshirts if you wish. I think they were $14 each roughly

Wow thanks for all the information! We are going down at the beginning of December to celebrate my son's 5th birthday (not until the 29th but we will celebrate all week). And my girlfriend and her family are going too and she will turn 40 while we are there! The ideas are already forming in my head now to get her! LOL! :cool1:

Birthdays at WDW are the BEST!! We were there for my 48th BD, and DH & I had our haircut at MK, Pixie dust & all... Of course I had to have the Birthday button (from City Hall) Whenever a CM or a guest said "Happy Birthday" I thanked them for coming to the PARTY. We went again for my 50th last year and it was even more fun. Just booked our 1st visit "home" at our DVC resort - OKW for my BD in October.... Now I want to surprise DH with the Richard Petty Driving Exp. for his BD while we are there. Toooo much Fun

When we go down in Oct we are celebrating both DD's B-day's. One will have just turned 9 the day before we leave and the other will be 13 the day after we get home. The CM at PS told me that at the Crystal Palace character dinner the characters will parade you around the resteraunt singing Happy Birthday. We are SOOOO doing this to our soon to be 13 year old :rotfl2: DD9 will be having a cake and personalized card signed by Dis characters at LTT. I'm really looking forward to a fun week celebrating their birthday's.

Thank you so much! We're going for our 7 (almost 8) yo daughter's birthday on July 3 - I really appreciate your taking the time to let us all know the scoop! She wants to eat at Whispering Canyon - she loved it there last trip. She will love this whole day! :) Great tips - Thank you!!!!

Great post! You sound like you're a ton of fun :cool1: I'd love to hear your tips on paying only $200 for 4 people for 3 nights like you mentioned :)

Thank you so much for the info...we are celebrating my DD 14th bday there...so this will help alot. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the ideas!
We always spend my bday in wdw! :flower: It just works out that way cuz our vaca is always in sept!!!!

My bday is 9-11, which anymore, seems to be a real downer! haha not to mention i am not gettin any younger!

This year will be my 30th! yikes!!!!! :earseek:

My hubby and kids plan on making a huge ordeal out of it! I am almost dreading it!
I dont love a huge display of attention, so the hoop de doo is out of the question! I would die of embarassment!

Hubby heard about the bday buttons, and said oh we simply must get one of those for you! I am worried I will look a little silly...
I was thinking this was more for the kiddos... but maybe not! Then again, I am a kid at heart so..... :p
But anyways thanks for the ideas!

My B-day is on 9-11. I will be in the Magic Kingdom on my birthday too. I don't know where we are going to eat yet. I can't wait to get my button. I will be 35 and my kids are going to make a big deal about it. Maybe we will see each other at the park. This will be my first B-day at WDW, DH's B-day is 9-9 but the trip just didn't work out to be there on his. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the tips, I'll be celebrating my birthday solo next week at the World for the first time! Will definitely have to get myself a pin from each of the parks. :)
