Hello again readers!
So much for being good about updating! My poor neglected TR! I've been spending a lot of time wedding planning because I want to get it done before school starts! All my girls have their dresses as of this week (they were really excited to get them so we went shopping over the weekend). I let them each pick their own style of dress in Clover from David's Bridal. My only request was that they pick a short one, no floor length. We also picked out cute strappy sandals for them all to wear which will be dyed clover to match the dresses. Last Thursday morning Kyle and I had our cake consultation! We went up to East Hampton, Mass. to this amazing bakery that makes cupcake towers as an alternative to traditional wedding cake. We chose red velvet with cream cheese frosting, lemon cake with raspberry frosting, and marble cake with chocolate frosting, their cake is sooo delicious! I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on other details as the planning comes along!
Orientation for school starts tomorrow and then the kids are back August 31st. I can't believe summer break is over already, it feels like it just started!
Now, back to your regularly schedule trip report! Day 4 was Tuesday, June 9th, and we started out our Day at DHS. We stopped and got drinks in our mugs at ASMu again (I am a coffee addict so this was a must in the morning!) and then hopped on the bus. Without even planning on it, we made it for rope drop for the second day in a row. I have decided that the little rope drop ceremony at DHS is my favorite of all the parks, even over MK. They had the streetmosphere people come out, a movie star and a director, and had us play the extras in a "scene". While we waited behind the rope, he had us cheering and rehearsing our "lines" and what we would do in the scence, which included NOT RUNNING to TSM lol.
It was really cute and funny, but of course, as soon as that rope dropped, people were racing to get over there anyway. It was actually kinda scary, I saw a woman dragging her daughter. The poor thing tripped and was crying for her mom to slow down, but she just yanked her upright and kept dragging her down the street!
It was insane, people were bordering on violent. DF tried to get FPs while I hopped in stanby, but they had CMs who were not allowing you to do it, so I said forget it and we both went in stanby. It was nice to just walk on the ride, worth braving the stampede because this ride is so much fun!
I attempted to get a 3D glasses pic, obviously, but oops! My camera was still on zoom lol, and the line was moving so fast, no time for a redo!
The ride was great as usual, and DF won of course! We tried to get FPs for later when we exited, but the line was already down to the Little Mermaid just to get them! We said forget it, its a really fun ride but wed try back later. We still had lots to do! We decided to go grab RnRC FPs for later and get some breakfast. I was determined to try Starring Rolls after seeing so many rave reviews from fellow Disers, and Kyle applauded my choice as soon as he laid eyes on the ginormous cinnamon rolls when we set foot in the place. He has learned quickly to never question my Dis research, it leads to great plans

We both got one with our snack credits and an grabbed an OJ, and oh my goodness I could have eaten 10 of those cinnamon buns they were so good!
DF thinks they are better than Main St. Bakeries. I'm still on the fence. They are both good in their own way. I'll have to do another extensive taste test next trip to decide
Feeling nice and full,we decided to walk off breakfast by touring One Man's Dream. I think it's an amazing exhibit and Kyle especially loves it so we checked that out for awhile and stayed to watch the movie about Walt's life. During the show, my back started to spasm really badly though so I was kinda uncomfortable the whole time. It was hard to concentrate. Luckily the pain didn't last long though, and that was the last day I had a problem with it the whole trip.
We exited and decided to try and meet some characters. Donald was out so we went for him first since that is DF's favorite, but just as we got into line his handler said he was going on break and would be back in 15 mins. We stopped for a photopass pic in front of the hat. I would like this if that guy wasn't running by behind me haha.
Next we hopped in line to meet Chip n Dale. They were hilarious! I loved their interaction. One of them decided to flip over the railing around the grassy area in front of the hat and stand on his head. Well, a little boy of about 4 happened to be watching this trick, and when the CM and his parents weren't looking, he tried to flip over the railing and imitate Chip! The handler and he mom went running over to stop him and Chip looked very bashful after setting such a bad example lol!
When it was our turn, Chip and Dale were fighting over me, then DF stepped in and said "Hey wait, she's taken!" so they started to get in his face and pretend fight him. It was really cute.
After hanging out with the chipmunks for awhile, we went back to try and meet Donald again. The CM monitoring the line was chatting with some newlywed couples who were ahead of us. We stood there for about 15 mins., and she turns to me and Kyle and rudely says "Sorry, I'm going to have to stop the line at these people, Donald needs a break soon." Needless to say, we were not happy. It was the same CM who turned us away earlier, and she had the nerve to let us stand there while she is busy talking for that long without bothering to tell us that we weren't actually going to meet Donald AGAIN? Kyle was disappointed and I was seriously annoyed by this and I told her so. She showed zero sympathy, I should have taken her name and told someone about it. Phew ok rant over, but that lady made me sooo mad!
Determined to not let it ruin our morning, we went to use of RnRc FPs. The line moved really fast and we loved it as usual, but as we were exting and looking at our ride photo, I noticed that my sunglasses were missing. THey weren't in their case that i keep them in or anywhere else in my bag. I panicked because they were brand new and they were perscription (aka very expensive) and I LOVED them. I went back to the unloading area and asked the CM if they'd found any in the limos. He was very nice and produced 5 pairs, none of which were mine. We checked with the gift shop CM and went outside and asked the CM standing outside the queue (who was SO mean, I think she was friends with the lady who wouldn't let us meet Donald lol) and no luck. I didn't remember putting them in the net that holds your belongings on the ride, and I had a terrible feeling that maybe I'd had them on my head and forgot to take them off when we got in. That is such an intense launch, that if I was wearing them as a headband, they would be goners.
Our rednecked photo from that fateful ride:
After searching everywhere, I was sad and annoyed and we decided to give up and check lost and found later. We headed over to the animation studio. Maybe a drawing lesson would cheer me up! We finally figured out that you could enter through the gift shop and not watch that cute but old Mushu video, so we went in that way and first checked to see what the line was like for the Up characters. We had yet to see the movie actually (we saw it the week after we got back to get our Disney fix and LOVED it) but we thought they were so cute. However, we must have had a character curse on us this trip because the line was huge AND they were about to go on break. Ugh. We gave up! No more characters, if my memory serves me right we didn't see any for the rest of the trip. Oh well, always next time! There was no wait for drawing class so we did that and got to draw Minnie. They came out adorable!
Here is Kyle's artistic masterpiece:
And here is mine:
I think he won that round. My minnie looks a little terrified IMO. But being the sweet boy that he is, he said he likes mine better
Drawing was only a temporary fix to my mood. To put it lightly, I spent the next half hour pouting. I was not a happy camper and we got in a little spat about it because my poor DF was trying his hardest to cheer me up and I was being a brat and worrying about my stupid sunglasses. Very bratty, I know. I still regret my behavior, but what can I say, I'm a girly girl and I love my accessories! While I was busy being grumpy, we were trying to decide what to do until our 130pm lunch ressie at Sci Fi. The park was crowded, we were hot, and we'd done pretty much everything we wanted to do. We wandered toward Muppets, but before we entered I suggested that we just check in and see if they could seat us early. The place was a mob scene, and the CM told us that they were running late so they probably could not, but we were free to wait anyways. I said heck yes, we want AC so we plopped down on the lobby floor, again so classy! Sure enough, we'd barely gotten comfy on the ground when he called our name. Noticing a trend here? Parties of 2 never have to wait to eat, I love it. On a side note, while I was waiting to put our name in, a gentleman in front of me walked up and asked when the next available table would be for a party of 6. He looked dumbfounded when the CM told him basically to come back tomorrow lol. The guy was so shocked to hear that he wouldn't be able to get in anywhere for the rest of the day without a standing reservation. Umm, hello, you just dropped a fortune to go to Disney, why don't you do your homework?? haha
Anyways, we got seated in the very first car on the left when you enter the dining area. We were in the last row behind a family of 4 and the host called us "the hitchhikers" which we thought was cute. The family we sat with was very nice and chatted with us a bit, I love meeting friendly people on vacation. We were excited to eat here because of the atmosphere, DF had never tried it. Since I'd read alot about their milkshakes, we had to try them. I got cookies n cream and Kyle got vanilla I think? They were SO good! Here is mine, pardon the terrible picture but the lighting in there is not good for picture taking:
We both ordered the burger and they were really good. I still liked Beaches n Cream's better, but Sci Fi's were huge and did not disappoint.
I think dessert was what i was most excited for. I got the peanut butter cake which was awesome. Not as good as the chocolate wave, but I love peanut butter so I enjoyed it.
Kyle got the apple cobbler thingy. I can't remember the actual name of it. He liked it, but he is not a huge lunch person so I think he was too full to enjoy too much dessert.
Overall we liked Sci Fi but I don't think we'll be going again. The movies were cute and funny and the theme is awesome, but our waiter was just ok, not overly friendly or attentive and we just feel there are better place to eat overall. Plus, we decided that having lunch when you are on regular dining plan is a waste, you get so much more for your money when you use the credits on dinner.
After lunch, we decided to regroup. It had not been the smoothest morning, and we were both tired. I think our jam packed days were catching up to us. Our best plan of action was to head back to the hotel for a nap and a swim. MK was open until 1am that morning, so we could rest and then spend the rest of our night there. We hopped the bus, got back to the room, kicked off our shoes, and crawled right into bed.
In the next installment you will see you that much needed rest turned the day around and we had one of the best nights of our trip!!
Hope you are all doing well my lovely readers
