Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

We just returned from our first Poly stay. We were in a regular room, resort view. Our room had the sofa bed (and I am pretty sure all rooms do even though that room description doesn't say it has it). Hope your trip is as magical as ours was!
I'm glad to hear you had such a great trip! What building were you guys in? I requested rarotonga and a balcony. Fingers crossed 🤞

Latest parking lot/entrance reconfiguration work from the sky courtesy of user @bioreconstruct on X. Link here.

Lines added by me and are approximate.

A lot going on with this project and still a long way to go. At left, ongoing Floridian Way widening (to four lanes) and reconfiguration). A traffic circle will eventually be in approximately the larger red circle area.

For the new Poly entrance, if you zoom in you can see concrete has been poured for the new security guard house (outlined in red), and you can start to see the outline of what will be the new guest entrance roadway (outlined in yellow).

The current Poly entrance will eventually be bus only, with additional bus stops and a turnaround added - generally the red outline.

Seems like the phasing of the work is to get the new guest entrance complete then they'll move on to the old entrance/bus area. Still a ways to go here with the Floridian Way traffic circle and Seven Seas Drive eventually being re-routed/re-configured partially through the CM parking area to intersect with the traffic circle.

Plans from the stormwater permits also attached for reference.

helpful explanation. Thanks!

Considering club level at the Poly this Christmas! It will be a one time splurge, just looking for a magical time!

Does anyone know what time coffee is served in the morning? We are early risers, so early coffee is definitely important to us. Is it 6:30 am?

Also, comparing theme park view vs water view at club level, is there a noticeable difference in the view? The description is the seven seas lagoon, so can't I get a peek of Magic Kingdom in a water view too?

CL offers Coffee at 7 AM when it opens for service. You do have the ability to make coffee in your room before 7 AM. You can get Coffee at 6:30 a.m. at the Kona Island counter , which is located on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House.

ETA: alternative Coffee location at 6:30 AM

Often there has been coffee out at 630 or so in the lounge. For your room coffee I like to grab some creamer/milk whatever you prefer and keep in the rooms fridge. I am not a fan of the little creamer cups in the room.

I just had a waterview cl room and have had them in the past. Mine have always been on the 1st floor. Rooms are xx01-18. 01 is near the elevator/closest to the lounge. The rooms on that end are closer to the beach and have a more water view. Rooms on the far end like 16-18 have some water view but more beach and bungalows. I have seen them use those rooms for GV so not sure if waterview. Seems like things change often enough.

My last trip I could not see the castle but could see GF and the EWP really well, xx02 . HEA was nice too. My friend was in XX10 and had a nice view of the castle in between the bungalows. I think I’ve had 02,03,05,11,13,15. I enjoyed all of them but do prefer closer to the lounge for more water view and lounge convenience.

I think I could see the castle from some point on the patio with all but 02. However 02 had a better EWP view so that was nice.

Christmas time at poly cl is nice ,the tree is always unique in the lounge. One year I took my mom and on the 2nd day she woke me up at 6:40am. Trish wake up you have to see this …. Come on for coffee…. So I go to the lounge and overnight they had set up all the decor. That was fun for my Mom 😊🎄November 2014.

I'm often up early and as mentioned there's usually coffee already prepared in the lounge more like 6:30am. The CMs are setting up breakfast service but the lounge is otherwise open and you can easily pop in for a fresh cup. Most of the other CLs advertise 6:30am coffee service in their lounge hours handout although Poly doesn't for some reason, but it's usually out.

They probably all serve the same stuff and it's in my head, but I swear Poly CL has the best coffee among the CLs. YMMV.

The TPV category is one of those with a hefty price tag, but IMHO it's one of the "worth it' choices if you can. The Water View rooms as @trishadono are ultimately fine, but TPV is sort of the bomb. Most of them are on the third floor (balcony) but there are some on the second floor too (no balcony) - I request third floor, but you do always have the risk of being on the second (when I finally had a no balcony room they're not as bad as I thought, but I still much prefer a balcony).

But if you're deciding between the two, can't really make a wrong choice!

Thanks for all the responses! I think we are leaning towards a theme park view!

Does anyone know if we get the resort refillable cups, what is the earliest that coffee is available? 7 am?

Back in December 24 they allowed you to fill your mug from 6:30am till 7am at Kona Island until Captain Cooks opens.
Great point @ChristianR, and thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, you can get Coffee at 6:30 a.m. at the Kona Island counter, which is located on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House. However it is not an official listed Resort Mug refill location so individual guest experience may vary, and you might need to pay for it at the Koan Island counter.
