A Girl Can Dream can't she?

When we got married, we had a guest list of 10 people. We didn't invite aunts/uncles or Grandparents. It was my parents and one sister (under 18), his cousin (like a brother to him), and his boss and the boss's wife. We took everyone to The Elephant Bar for dinner. The cerimony took place on Labor Day at the Japanese Gardens. My dress was navy blue (his favorite color), He wore a pin stripe Navy shirt with kakis. The flowers were red roses.

Total for the entire wedding: $1,500.

Is the Elephant Bar a chain? I went to one a few time in Carmel Mountain maybe Ranch Bernardo when I lived down in SD.

How did it work out with people not being invited? Do you still hear about people being upset about who was and wasn't invited?

The Elephant Bar is a chain. I have only been there once since we got married, our wedding day was our first time there. There are always a lot of cars parked there, so I thought that would be a good indicator that they had good food. It's okay, I've had better.

I've had no complaints from anyone in my family or from co-workers (we got married before I got laid off). If fact, when I talked to my brother about it, he was like "That's the way to do it; small, neat, and all about the wedding - not the party" We opted for no party because I'm the only dancer, we didn't want to spend the money on a DJ for only one person on the dance floor.

Our rings (which I LOVE) are included in the price of the wedding. We got them at a jewelry store that was going out of business, but we didn't know it at the time. On our five year anniversary we are planning on having a vow renewal/party at Disneyland, we'll see if that happens. The finances aren't looking favorably for such an event.

Beautiful wedding Jenn :) I love that you did it on the pirate ship at TI. LOL that's so awesome. :) When we were in Vegas in June every time the kids saw a sign for a wedding chapel they pointed it out to DBF trying to get him to marry me right then. LOL

BFF was a very easy bride, not too much stress, she pretty much let her sis in law do what she wanted with the flowers and decor, BFF just said "I want these colors, and I want these flowers, you take it from there." and "I want pumpkins for decor, lots of pumpkins" LOL so it was pretty easy. I hope your cousin gets her venue picked soon. :) It sounds like you have 2 fun jobs.....I'm trying to find just one. LOL ;)

Sara the third link just takes you to a page for DCA, can you fix it? I'd love to get married at DL but it's just not gonna happen. lol Way too much $$$$! I like your other choices tho, both look really nice.

Most brides i work with give me colors and small little things they want types of flowers etc and I go with it. My cousin not so much. She let me go with it agrees then changes it. I hope she finds one soon as well.

We wanted a Disney wedding it just was not in the cards. Vegas was awesome though. I love that the pirate slid down from the crows nest with the rings.

Oh pwings it doesn’t’ matter about the links for the DCA wedding site. I talked to matt last night.. and I can cross that one of my list dream wedding venues.

*GASP* I just saw the coolest thing EVER!! I was coming into the DLR boars. But got sidetracked by a thread labeled “invitations” in the wedding threads.. and I went to the last post, and this couple has save the date cards, but they are in the style of a fastpass!! HOW freakin cool is that?

We checked Disneyland off when we got the quote of 50k. yep Vegas was the next site. So glad we did it. I hope you find your location!

I guess when we get back from DL I have to go to Tahoe and look at venues with my cousin. There are a few nice but cheap places. Looks like the ceremony will be in Tahoe and reception in Pleasanton. She is driving me up a wall.

That sucks about no DCA wedding, Stage 17 would've been awesome!! Love love love the fastpass save the dates!!

Heyjen.. put it this way—*if* matt and I do get married in the future at least most of the planning will be done..lol.. an we wont drive you up a wall.

I know …. stage 12 looked cool! Matt says that when you get married at Disneyland you have to do it before the park opens or fork out a million dollars to close the park down….and then I was like what about the pretty gazebo near the DLH? And well…. I guess I can cross that one off the list as dream wedding venues also…does anyone care what my opinion and choice is?(THAT is not question)

Our quote was for 10k. We didn't have the "party" part of our wedding and planning to remidy that on our 5 year anniversary. That will be 5k. That includes food, party at the DL gardens, arrivale in the Cinderalla coach, a pianist and Alice with the Hatter. I'm the only one who likes to dance, so instead of $800 for a DJ for me to dance by myself, we can get the two characters (for one hour) and a pianist for the lenght of the party.

I plan to be back to my thin self by then and want to wear my red dress that I have hanging in the closet. The last time I wore it was at a New Years party over 4 years ago, before I met my DH.

I do not even remember what we were going to have. I know we were doing the ceremony and reception on disney property. I know I was going to arrive in the cinderella coach. Pretty sure we were going to get married at Sleeping Beautys castle.

Ok, be warned: I was born in the wrong century, and I love big, poofy dresses with bling.

I love this one:

This is where me being born in the wrong century comes in:

Although I could do without the flowers on the shoulders.

And I could totally live with this dress, either this color or white :)

Now, to find a guy who shares my love of Disney...ok, I'd settle for someone who shares at least 1/3 of my love.

And a random note: while I was searching for dresses, my Itunes, on random, starting playing Fantasmic!, so of course I immediately began acting things out, thinking I was home alone. Apparently, my house mate came in about the part where I was cackling, "Now you'll deal with me, and all the powers of my imagination!" She hasn't said anything yet, but I know she had to have heard me, lol.

hmm single disney loving guys for kbelle.. where can i find her one.. oh yes chicken carlos here on the dis is single.. he is a good friend of mine..
