It was very efficient. I had it all planned out with a specific timetable that I figured we'd never manage to hit, but we did! It all went very smoothly.

Yes, the location for Epcot cannot be beat. We loved being able to stroll there in minutes.

Before Dame Judi was Jeremy Irons and while I have no personal recollection of it, apparently Walter Cronkite was before that - which would have been cool!

I bought a hat with the same saying on it. I love it as well and agree it's for the coolest people.

Love th Beach Club. That path to IG really cannot be beat. I am partial to the Jermey Irons version of SSE but that was because my friends and I had it memorized after working there for 7 months. I don’t mind the Judy Dench One. I am curious if they will change it again with the rumored refrub.

I really don't remember the Jeremy Irons one although I'm sure I would have ridden it with that narration at some point. Might be fun to have a change of narrator with the refurb though.

Is it possible to ride Flight of Passage three times in one day?

Since we were NOT running Dopey this year, we had no 5K to run on Thursday and I gotta say, I had zero regrets! It was fun to get texts from the people who were running though so we got a bit of vicarious living through them. One down side of our awesome near-Epcot location was being able to hear the DJ at the start area though. Oops. Didn’t think of that! It did initially wake me, but it was muted enough that I was able to go back to sleep. But, we were still up bright and early because we were headed to early EMH at Animal Kingdom and I had an ambitious plan to ride FoP 3 times today!!!

We were up and on an early bus and lined up for the opening where we followed the crowd to get lined up for an early AM flight.

Next it was off to Nav’i River for a restful little cruise with one interesting moment with this…

It’s not a bad little ride and given we basically walked right on, I enjoy it, but never something I’d wait more than 10 minutes or so to ride.

We needed a little pick-me-up at this point so next to the second longest line of the day…

Only 1 “L” Starbucks people! But, I never complain when somebody gets that close to the correct spelling.

Safari time! It was a pretty good one this time around.

Black Rhino which I usually don’t see.

Even saw the lions pretty well.

Then off for our first FP of the day to Expedition Everest.




You’ll notice that is NOT Chris sitting next to me. He just doesn’t do well on this ride which is a shame because I really enjoy it. At least we got a good little photo op after though.


It was chilly this morning even with that beautiful sky, so Chris later ended up buying a stocking cap.

Then it was off to Dinosaur for a ride we can both enjoy. I know a lot of people don’t like this ride, but we think it’s pretty fun.

We had a lunch reservation back at the resort, so we strolled our way out of the park

And hopped a bus and headed back to Beach Club. We got back with some time to spare, so opted for some libations at Hurricane Hannah’s while we waited for our reservation time.

Ha! Sorry to put you through eye strain. We love those jackets. We bought them after last years race and they are Dopey finisher jackets. Basically they are lined windbreakers, but I really like them. The only bad thing about wearing them is people kept congratulating us on running Dopey and we'd have to explain that the jackets were from running Dopey LAST year and that we did the 10K and full this year. I told Chris I felt like an impostor in them but eventually we stopped explaining and just said, "Thanks".

They’ve been in there HOW long?

After enjoying our drinks and enjoying the beautiful views and this little companion who hung out with us for awhile,



we headed off for our reservation at Beaches and Cream. We checked in at the podium and a sweet little CM working there told us they were running a bit behind and took my phone number to text me when the table was ready. We told her no problem and just sat down at one of the little tables outside the restaurant entrance. We were in no rush, so we honestly didn’t care. Probably 15 minutes later she came over to apologize and explained that the table they had intended for us had a party that had been in the booth for over 90 minutes!! She said they’d had their bill for quite some time but were just hanging out. Like, seriously? I mean, again, we were in no hurry, but I thought that was nuts. It’s a tiny little restaurant with difficult to get reservations and you are just hanging out? It seemed super rude to other patrons who might be waiting not to mention the server who was delayed on turning over the table to get a new party and thus new tips available.

Anyway, eventually 30 minutes after our reservation, she came over to get us seated. She informed us they were putting us at another recently vacated table since that booth was STILL occupied. HUH? 2 hours for lunch at Beaches and Cream. Anyway, whatever, we were seated and set about the task at hand…EATING!

We started out with a milkshake to share

And some water since we were running a 10K the next day.

Chris got a burger and I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup. YUMMY!

]

We had originally planned on dessert, but we were both frankly stuffed when we were done and the milkshake had satisfied our sweet tooth. The booth across from us got the Kitchen Sink, so we did get to enjoy that spectacle and watched them actually demolish the whole thing!!

Once we finished up, we headed back to the room to get our stuff laid out for the race the next day.

The forecast was still for a pretty cool start to the day, so we had some throwdown sweatshirts and blankets to wait out the start in the corral.

After a bit, we boarded a bus back to AK to hit up our last FP+ for the day and a second ride on Flight of Passage. But first some photopass action

The ride was great yet again and once done there, we were off for our dinner reservations at Tiffins.

This was our second time eating here and I really enjoyed it again. We had really good service

We both had this yummy cocktail, Jenn’s Tattoo, and it was very tasty!


We shared the avocado and tomato salad

Which I found to be a little light on both avocado and tomato, but was tasty nonetheless. I ordered the halibut for an entrée which was very good

And Chris ordered the Crispy Sadza which is a vegetarian entrée or at least it was until he added the optional pork belly to the top of it.

We both thought this was really good and would order it again. We both decided we were too full for dessert, so headed back out into the park.

I think we ended up seeing It’s a Bug’s Life and riding Dinosaur again before it was getting close to park closing at 8 PM. This was my plan to try and hit Flights of Passage one more time right before closing. See, we’d never gone through the full standby line and I really wanted to see that floating Avatar at least once up close, so we decided now or never. The wait time was at something ridiculous like 215 minutes, but I didn’t think that was probably correct, so we got in line. Some pretty views of Pandora at night from the line.

And, as expected, the wait time was significantly inflated on the sign because in about an hour we were looking at this fella

Was he worth the wait? Not so much. But still it wasn’t a bad wait and we were off the ride in just over an hour. Mission FoP three times in one day - Accomplished!

Knowing that we had a very early morning wake-up the next day, we headed out of the park and took a moment to enjoy the Christmas tree still up

Luckily we caught a bus quickly and were back at our home away from home and in bed by around 9:30 or 10.

Wow thats a long time at Beaches and Cream! I have only done ice cream there. Your meals looked good though.

Tiffins is one of my favorites. I had it scheduled for this trip but cancelled and did other things instead.

I'm loving reading your report! I was having such FOMO about the race weekend this year that I decided to run the full in 2021! (2020 will be a fairytale challenge year).

I LOVE Beaches and Cream and cannot believe someone was there for almost 2 hours! I love the All American sundae and always get the grilled cheese and tomato soup.
