a funny thing happened...

One thing I left out of my cruise report...We'd just gotten on the ship and were standing outside enjoying our veranda, my four year old got bored with this and walked back inside to watch the TV, closed the door behind her and locked it. a few minutes later I walked over and pulled on the door..."ah honey...she LOCKED US OUT HERE!" . She was quite amused to see mommy and daddy on the other side of the door pleading with her to come over then trying to explain that she had to PULL DOWN ON THAT LEVER RIGHT THERE, no, pull DOWN ON IT. HONEY, I KNOW TIMON IS ON TV BUT PAY ATTENTION, PULL DOWN ON THIS ....LOOK AT ME, LOOK HERE...ah thank goodness, good girl!.

That's pretty good. It took our family about 30 minutes to figure out that the doors slid (as in a sliding glass door) rather than opened. It just looked like a door that was waiting to be opened...

oh my god....i would have been terrified...
although i imagine you could have eventually gotten the attention of someone else on their verandah to get help...
but still.....geez.....funny now in retrospect but not so funny when it was happening i'm sure...
