A first time planners TRIP REPORT! Sept 2014 Final Update 5.19!

Continued from last post

We still had some time before our dinner reservations so we headed to Star Tours! They have changed this since the last time I had been on it- I don't think Disney owned Star Wars when I was on it so it didn't have the characters.

We both enjoyed it and walked right on!

After Star Tours, we went to watch the Classic Muppet 3D show!

Our dining reservations were at 4:30 for Sci Fi Dine in Theater. We were really early because we were right around the corner from it and decided to just see if they could get us in closer to 4. We waited for about 5 minutes and then we were in!

I have been here a few times when I was younger and I really thought Joe would enjoy it. He did! The theming there is just so cool!

We were "hitchhikers" in the 3rd row of a car with a family in front of us. It wasn't weird at all and you still feel like you are in your own car.

You can get a milkshake as your drink on the dining plan, so that was great! Joe wanted a coke and a milkshake and our server said no problem, he could do that for him :thumbsup2

I was SO STUFFED after this meal that I didn't get dessert. We split some cinnamon apple ice cream donut thing that I didn't get a picture of :(

I did get a picture of my yummy steak! We ooth had this for our meal.

We were having a hard time with the show schedules that day because there weren't a ton of times so we had already missed the last Lights Motor Action Show. I was bummbed because Joe loves cars so he would have enjoyed there. Guess we have to go back! The last Indiana Jones show was at 5 so we were so lucky we went to dinner early. We ran over to Indiana Jones right at 5! AGAIN...SO glad we did this since there will most likely be no Indiana Jones show the next time we are there.

After that we went on the Great Movie Ride! Walked right on that one too!

I love when the Munchkins come out and sing! :goodvibes

After that we went and did Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster...AGAIN. I think we did Tower of Terror 4 times and Rock N Roller coaster 3 times. :thumbsup2

Joe really loves this picture of himself...KIDDING.

After that we walked over to go see Fantasmic! I think Fantasmic might be my favorite night time show- Maybe. I can't make up my mind!

WRAP OF HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS DAY:
Joe's favorite ride: Rock N Roller Coaster
Favorite Moment: Not waiting for anything
Favorite Food: Steak at Sci Fi

Lauren's favorite ride: Tower of Terror
Favorite Moment: Fantasmic!
Favorite Food: Turkey Sandwich from Starring Rolls

Up Next: The most beautiful place to have breakfast

You had some fun moments with PP photographers ... makes it a lot more interesting when it is more than just "pose, ok, got it" and that is it. Plus you got to provide entertainment for a group of people before they even got in the park!

Wow - that is great you got on ToT and RNRC ... I am with Joe that the best part of your day seemed to be not waiting for anything!

And starring rolls is a perfectly acceptable breakfast! Granted, we had Dole Whips for dinner once our last trip :rotfl: I think that is the best quick service location

Cool that you got on Backlot and Indy as the former is closed and not sure how much longer the later has. I am not too upset about Backlot closing, only because they had already removed from it the parts that showed the more real working movie studio parts.

I love me some Fantasmic! It is just so well done and the part with all the characters on Steamboat Willie just gives off all sorts of Disney feels :goodvibes

Ha, what great photopass photographers you had! We had the "oh you want your picture? hm, ok" ones that couldn't care less if they got a good shot or not! The one of you guys kissing is hilarious when you know the backstory! (Otherwise, it's just sweet!)

You guys sound like us. "Tower of Terror again?" "Yes, please!" Did you get your videos too? Those were a riot!

Your Ray is perfect!

I still haven't seen Fantasmic; I keep telling myself I will go see it on the NEXT trip, but then I never do. I love Illuminations the most, but didn't see it this trip either. I forget that I might not be coming right back like usual, and now I've missed my chance! Oh well, NEXT trip. ;)

I am planning mine for our December trip and glad to find this report to follow around!

Oh my eyeball lady!! That looks so completely painful, I hope it heals quickly.

Fantastic that you didn't have to wait hardly at all for rides! :thumbsup2

I really want to try Sci-Fi, never been to that one in all my visits to WDW. I always see mixed reviews on it, so it never makes the list.

Those silly Photopass photographers!! I love the ones that get into their job and make it fun. There are some, however, that are not. I'm glad you two had a fantastic experience!

Wow! Y'all got a TON of stuff done in HS! It makes our day look like we did nothing!

I loved your breakfast at Starring Rolls.

Where was the Frozen stuff? I kept seeing the Oaken Outpost mentioned, and kept thinking that we needed to look for it, but never did. Now I kind of wish we had!:(

4 times on Tower and 3 on Rock N is just plain awesome!!!

WOW! You sure got a lot done on your Studios day. I'm so glad you got on my favorite -- TOT -- so many times. And glad you had a great lunch at Sci Fi, got to do the animation class and saw Fantasmic (it's my second favorite...nothing can compare to Wishes in my eyes).

I hate to tell you, but when we did our Animal Kingdom tour, our tour guide said that both Indiana Jones and Lights Motor Action will be closed.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun PhotoPass photographers ... I've found that it's very hit-or-miss - some are all business, and some enjoy having fun with the guests. It's always nice to find ones who are having fun ... even if sometimes they're having fun at your expense. The pictures all look great!

I want to try Sci-Fi Dine In at some point in time (it looks really cool), so I'm glad to hear you like it!

I'm with you on Fantasmic - it's my favorite show in Florida (I don't know if it's my favorite overall - it's a tie with World of Color in California).

Sounds like you guys had a really good day! And I'm so jealous of how many rides you got to walk on and/or ride more than once!

HS is my 2nd Favorite park!!!

Starring Rolls is the BEST! just nice to have a fresh yummy sandwich after all the heavy foods.. Then wash it down with a GIANT cupcake! :thumbsup2

honestly I do LOVE HS. everything about he park is just wonderful and FUN!
You had some great pictures taken! Dipped for the very first time! :rotfl2:

love the his favorite moment- no waiting! dang riot!

That PP story is one for the books! I love it when the photographers mess around, it make the purchase so worth it; much better memory than a simple point and click! An how cute are you two?! I'm glad you guys got such great PP photos.

Boy did y'all get a ton done at HS! And how lucky for you to ride Backlot Tour one last time. It was outdated, sure, but I know my family will miss Catastrophe Canyon and all that came before it.

I'm glad you and Jo had a successful family meet too, those can be stressful sometimes! I hope your eye has fully healed and you're back to your healthy self!

All caught up! Looks like you guys had great days at MK and HS. Bummer about the buses that first day. I have never done the Hop-Dee-Doo Review and it looks pretty cool! Maybe we'll try to squeeze it in on our next trip.

I love that you guys had such great PP Photographers!! I hope we can get some fun shots on our trip in March! :thumbsup2 All your pictures are so cute! And no wait times?! That's pretty awesome too!::yes::

Great trip review, thanks for bringing us along with you! :) Your Hollywood Studios day looked to be perfect--I love Scifi Dine-in theatre--we thought the food was okay (not bad, but good for what it is), and we loved the theming of that restaurant. We also loved the milkshakes there!

Your MK day was so great--it's fantastic that you had such short lines, and the Crystal Palace & the Hoop de doo review looked like so much fun. We haven't done the Hoop de doo before, but now I've added it to the list of things to do at Disney!

A September trip to Disney is also on my list for someday...the crowds look just right for us! I hope your eye isn't too uncomfortable, it sounds painful--but thank goodness that didn't happen right before or during your Disney trip!

Thanks for writing your trip report, I'm looking forward to hearing more!

You had some fun moments with PP photographers ... makes it a lot more interesting when it is more than just "pose, ok, got it" and that is it. Plus you got to provide entertainment for a group of people before they even got in the park!

It really is a lot more fun when the PP Photographers are interactive!

Wow - that is great you got on ToT and RNRC ... I am with Joe that the best part of your day seemed to be not waiting for anything!

We are so spoiled now, I'm scared of when we go back and actually have lines!

And starring rolls is a perfectly acceptable breakfast! Granted, we had Dole Whips for dinner once our last trip :rotfl: I think that is the best quick service location

Dole Whips for dinner sounds like the perfect dinner! :goodvibes

Cool that you got on Backlot and Indy as the former is closed and not sure how much longer the later has. I am not too upset about Backlot closing, only because they had already removed from it the parts that showed the more real working movie studio parts.

I thought I remembered Backlot being a little longer and different when I had gone on it when I was younger. I am just nervous for all of these changes!

I love me some Fantasmic! It is just so well done and the part with all the characters on Steamboat Willie just gives off all sorts of Disney feels :goodvibes

Yes the very end of Fantasmic is my favorite part!

Ha, what great photopass photographers you had! We had the "oh you want your picture? hm, ok" ones that couldn't care less if they got a good shot or not! The one of you guys kissing is hilarious when you know the backstory! (Otherwise, it's just sweet!)

We had a few of those PP Photographers as well...we were lucky at HS!

You guys sound like us. "Tower of Terror again?" "Yes, please!" Did you get your videos too? Those were a riot!

Yes, I love the videos! What a cool idea!

Your Ray is perfect!

Thanks! I wouldn't know because I still haven't seen the movie, I should probably do that! :rotfl:

I still haven't seen Fantasmic; I keep telling myself I will go see it on the NEXT trip, but then I never do. I love Illuminations the most, but didn't see it this trip either. I forget that I might not be coming right back like usual, and now I've missed my chance! Oh well, NEXT trip. ;)

You NEED to see Fantasmic!!!

I am planning mine for our December trip and glad to find this report to follow around!

Welcome! Thanks for following! That's so exciting your December trip is quickly approaching!!

Oh my eyeball lady!! That looks so completely painful, I hope it heals quickly.

Ah! I know- Thank you! It feels a LOT better and I'm wearing my contacts but I can still kind of tell that something happened to it.

Fantastic that you didn't have to wait hardly at all for rides! :thumbsup2

I really want to try Sci-Fi, never been to that one in all my visits to WDW. I always see mixed reviews on it, so it never makes the list.

I read a lot of mixed reviews as well but I remember liking it when I was younger. You obviously can't compare a steak there to a steak you would have at Yachtsmen but it was good and the theming is so awesome!

Those silly Photopass photographers!! I love the ones that get into their job and make it fun. There are some, however, that are not. I'm glad you two had a fantastic experience!

Very true- thank you!

Wow! Y'all got a TON of stuff done in HS! It makes our day look like we did nothing!

Haha, since it was Joe's first time we honestly just kept going going going! I'm sure our next trip will be a little slower paced.

I loved your breakfast at Starring Rolls.

Me too- it was YUMMY.

Where was the Frozen stuff? I kept seeing the Oaken Outpost mentioned, and kept thinking that we needed to look for it, but never did. Now I kind of wish we had!:(

The Oaken Outpost was next to Toy Story Mania but I really don't know where the other stuff took place!

That's true Kathy, Wishes is the most magical to me too. I think I like that you get to sit at Fantasmic haha :rotfl:

I hate to tell you, but when we did our Animal Kingdom tour, our tour guide said that both Indiana Jones and Lights Motor Action will be closed.

Oh no!!! That's kind of a bummer :( I wonder what they are going to replace ALL of those shows with!! I love that HS is filled with shows.

Thank you!! :goodvibes & very true about the PP photographers!

I want to try Sci-Fi Dine In at some point in time (it looks really cool), so I'm glad to hear you like it!

I'm with you on Fantasmic - it's my favorite show in Florida (I don't know if it's my favorite overall - it's a tie with World of Color in California).

I really want to see that in California!

Sounds like you guys had a really good day! And I'm so jealous of how many rides you got to walk on and/or ride more than once!

We were so spoiled!

HS is my 2nd Favorite park!!!

Starring Rolls is the BEST! just nice to have a fresh yummy sandwich after all the heavy foods.. Then wash it down with a GIANT cupcake! :thumbsup2

It was so so good. I don't even know what was on the sandwich but it was delish.

honestly I do LOVE HS. everything about he park is just wonderful and FUN!
You had some great pictures taken! Dipped for the very first time! :rotfl2:

Haha, I love it too! I'm sad so much is changing!

love the his favorite moment- no waiting! dang riot!

Seriously, it was so nice not waiting!! He's so used to Six Flags that this was amazing. We are so spoiled now though!

That PP story is one for the books! I love it when the photographers mess around, it make the purchase so worth it; much better memory than a simple point and click! An how cute are you two?! I'm glad you guys got such great PP photos.

Thank you!! It really was a lot of fun having such interactive PP photographers!

Boy did y'all get a ton done at HS! And how lucky for you to ride Backlot Tour one last time. It was outdated, sure, but I know my family will miss Catastrophe Canyon and all that came before it.

Very true. Catastrophe Canyon is really cool and its fun to learn all you can do with special effects.

I'm glad you and Jo had a successful family meet too, those can be stressful sometimes! I hope your eye has fully healed and you're back to your healthy self!

Yes they can be stressful but it was very fun. Thank you! It is healing well!

All caught up! Looks like you guys had great days at MK and HS. Bummer about the buses that first day. I have never done the Hop-Dee-Doo Review and it looks pretty cool! Maybe we'll try to squeeze it in on our next trip.

I HIGHLY recommend Hoop-Dee-Doo! It is so much fun.

I love that you guys had such great PP Photographers!! I hope we can get some fun shots on our trip in March! :thumbsup2 All your pictures are so cute! And no wait times?! That's pretty awesome too!::yes::

Thank you! I hope you have the same experience in March too!

I feel the same way about Sci Fi! Especially going there with someone who hasn't been there before- they always love it!

I didn't even think about it, that would have been terrible if it happened at Disney! We were so spoiled that I think we will have a hard time going any other time!

Thanks for writing your trip report, I'm looking forward to hearing more!

Thank YOU for following along! I love being able to relive our trip! :goodvibes

Weekend/Last Week Update:

Last week my mom was in town from Arkansas. She moved there about 2 years ago and it has been so so hard being so far away from her. She's my best friend and I hate that I don't get to see her that often.

She drove to my house from Arkansas last Tuesday so I was off of work Wed-Fri and we had the best couple of days together! Shopping, going to the show, going out for lunch/dinner and just relaxing together was so wonderful.

She was in town for my cousins wedding which was in Paw Paw Michigan. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding! On Friday, Joe and I drove up to Michigan and went to a winery. It was so fun!

We had the rehearsal dinner Friday and the wedding was Saturday. It was such a beautiful wedding! I was so glad to be a part of it.

My Mom, Me, and My gram!

Sunday we drove back from Michigan and stopped at my brothers to watch the Bears game with him and my mom. We left around halftime and had to say bye to my Mom :(

Hopefully I will be going there for Thanksgiving so that isn't too far away! :goodvibes

Up Next:Leave a Legacy

Lauren, glad you got to spend some time with your Mom. You and Joe look great all dolled up for the wedding.

September 11th- Leave a Legacy

Today was our Epcot Day! I was so looking forward to this day because I barely remembered anything from Epcot so it was like going to a part for the first time for both of us!

We woke up early and walked to Old Port Royale for morning coffee (hot chocolate or coke for Joe haha) and breakfast.

I had to have this..obviously.

After we ate, we refilled our mugs and went for a walk around the resort.

These palm trees looked like a couple
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/babycakez389/Disney%20World%202014/737.jpg[/IMG]

Just over the bridge there is Cabana Cay which is beautiful. There is a play area for kids and a bunch of hidden spots with hammocks and rocking chairs that over look the lake. We sat down at one of the rocking chairs and realxed for a bit before heading back to our room.

Such a pretty view, I couldn't get over how beautiful this resort was.

We gathered our things back at the room and headed to the bus stop. I remember having good luck with the buses this morning. :thumbsup2

We got to Epcot right around opening and got a few fast pass photos-

I promise, we didn't plan on matching this day! haha It worked out nicely in photos though!

My last trips with my Dad were in 2000 and 2001. While I don't remember much from Epcot, I do know that we did the "leave a legacy" tiles that are all out in front of the Epcot ball.

My dad had the paperwork for them but I left it at home so I was very happy to find a "leave a legacy" locator in the shop near the entrance.
The cast member that helped us was so nice and pulled up our original photos on his computer. I instantly teared up seeing these old pictures of me and my Dad.

Picture taken in 2000:

Picture taken in 2001:

I am tearing up just looking at these again. :goodvibes

The CM handed Joe and I a slip of paper explaining how to find our two tiles and we were off on a mission. In less than 5 minutes we found each of our tiles and it was magical! I texted my Dad the photos and he was so happy to find out we would be "in front of Epcot forever".

2000:

2001:

I still can't get over how cool this was. After a morning like this, I knew today was going to be good!

Up Next: Mission Space Failure!

Those tiles are so sweet!! I love how happy you and your Dad look. Memories are fabulous!

I love the mug selfie, or "wesie" as Danielle (aka IHEARTDDUCK) would say.

I actually may be staying at CBR for one night in February, so I love looking at your pictures of the resort.

I gotta ask - Joe's wearing a Jeter shirt, right? (I can't imagine what else would be represented by a 2 with pinstripes) I'm a huge Yankees fan, so that makes me smile.
And are you wearing Joe's 1st visit pin on your bag? Super cute idea ... although it would be better if he wore the pin.

I love those pictures of you and your dad! I'm so glad you were able to find the tiles. The 2000 one is a great location - top row!

I love Caribbean Beach because of those hidden little hammocks! it's so nice to just go out and relax before a big park day :goodvibes

aaahhh how cool that you're on two of the legacy tiles! that's such an awesome memory to go back and find each time :)

Amanda, loved the tile story, and so good to see them. We have a brick but have yet to find it. I'll have to stop at City Hall and see if I can get them help me find it.

CBR is a beautiful resort...reminds me of the beach.

Your purse looks so nice in pictures! I love that print the most, I think.

My mom and I have a Leave a Legacy tile as well, and it's so cool to think our pictures are always at Epcot. I know one day they'll tear it down (*tear*) so i like to think about us there while I can.
