A Final Goodbye - WDW December 2024 (Update 11/27)

Sadly we won’t be in any park on the same day but maybe we will run into each other at Disney springs arrival day or on the skyliner on your Epcot day (I’ll be heading to HS).

Normally arrival day is DS with a meal at the Earl of Sandwich. But that’s a mommy daughter tradition and being my first solo I want to do something new. What I have no clue. I might skip DS and zip on over to target for some necessities & shopping. (I’m a Pepsi girl so I got to be prepared in the land of Coca Cola).

Yeah, I'm thinking of going to the Disney character warehouse before James arrives (he won't arrive at the airport until a few hours after me and not really into merch). What time does your flight come in on the 30th?

No! This is my first solo trip so i'm all over with the emotions lol. My flight gets in too late there are no direct flights from my city so i had to go through YYC, i think its a 5:05PM arrival. Character warehouse would be so cool. If only my flight arrived earlier

I did not see Space 220 Lounge mentioned anywhere - since you mentioned your partner is a Star Wars fan, I would definately shoot for a drink there in the Lounge. Too late for a reservation now, but get on the Walk Up List for sure!! For a space person, it's is the best ride in Epcot, very relaxing once you are seated

Hello . I arrive at Pop early on 12/6. I’m trying to decide whether to do a Publix/Instacart order for water or to go over to the Target store. I think is a bigger service charge for such a small order. Do you Uber to Target ?

my plan this trip is to check in, drop luggage and take a lyft to target. i was going to just do a instacart order but i would rather get what i want AND do some shopping as we do not have Target stores anymore in Canada (they were a huge fail which i could write a complete essay on haha)

I think I will do the same I think the Publix grocery is over at same location as Target. I must say the Target stores have made some changes and not for the better….they can be very frustrating to deal with if you need to contact their customer services. However I’m not paying the Disney prices for bottled water and snacks
I’ll also be solo this trip so if you’re still around I’ll be there from Dec 6-12th.

Hey thanks for the tip. I'll bring it up to him! He's also just a friend that I've known for a long time, strictly platonic. Though, we are great partners in crime! Mwahahaha! Lol

Updated the Planned schedule with a bit more detail. Figured out mostly arrival and departure days thanks to the holiday treat list.
Updated the holiday foods list with the resort wide treats we're interested in, as well as the gingerbread displays and their menus.

We'll be obtaining Lightning Lane selection in just under 2 weeks. I will most definitely update with what we get

With the release of the Epcot Holiday Kitchen menus for the Festival of the Holidays, we finally go our lists together! I have updated the holiday section of the PTR.
Also, it looks like Hollywood Studios is opening 30min later then I had recorded previously, so I updated those times as well.

BUT on a bit of a silly note ... I found my Disney Holiday Leggings!!

Whooh! Lol I probably won't be able to wear them at WDW unless a cold snap hits, which it did last year, but I'll at least be able to use it on the flight over as it's starting to snow out here and only getting colder.

Next big update will be this Saturday when we try for Lightning Lane passes

Big update today! It was Lightning Lane today for us I updated that section in the second post to show the times.

We did get all the rides we wanted but I'm not happy with Epcot times and a bit preturbed by the AK times. I'm quite pleased with HS times though! Pretty happy we got Slinky though.

There seems to be a glitch where it shows that there are earlier times available but when I click to change the time, it's later times available OR the same time. This is the case even when there aren't conflicting reservations (for other LL or dining). It's quite frustrating.

Now that all these are figured out, I'm going to have another update with our rough MVMCP plans for the evening and then ... it's off to WDW!

I heard others had that issue as well, so frustrating. Hopefully you can keep trying and will lick out and get a time slot you prefer

I thought that I planned out our vacations. After reading through your plans, I now realize that I don't. Honestly, I don't do a dang thing compared to you. I aspire to reach your level of greatness. I am looking forward to reading about your trip. I think it's going to be awesome!

Haha thank you! The planning comes from being able to afford the trip. Planning everything allows me not to waste time/money and making sure I get the best price. Part of the reason for detail is so that I have somewhere to put the info that both I and James can have access to in case we forget or something.
The biggest brag I have with planning is from my Transatlantic Disney cruise. I was working with 4 different currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, CAD), a flight connection where we had to change airports, and 3 days prior to the cruise doing touristy stuff. I went so into detail about how much every single thing costs (including transportation costs, possible souvenirs, food, etc) that we only went over budget by $40 because I wanted to increase the tips for the dining cast members on the cruise.
I think if I had more money, I wouldn't be so detailed in planning but, well, I don't so I need to budget and budgeting requires looking at all the little costs that add up (including tips for TS restaurants).

I made some ornaments to pixie dust to cast members for helping my last trip be wonderful (at least, I hope it will be).


Do you think they will like them?
I made them winter themed since there are so many different holidays celebrated in the winter and I figure for those that don't use a tree for the holidays can still hang it somewhere for decoration.

I've been very busy this week and haven't had time to work on MVMCP strategy yet but hopefully today or tomorrow.
