I have to start by saying I was really nervous to get to the BCV and see my room because I requested an Epcot view and had read so many negative reports on those views. I almost changed my request to pool view but I decided to take my chances and am I glad I did.
I loved the view that I had!! We stayed in room # 467, a dedicated 2BR. It overlooked Spaceship Earth and had a great view of the fireworks, and a great view of the canal below. Which we were able to watch the alligater and all the turtles in from our balcony, and we REALLY enjoyed watching all of them. We saw the alligater 3 times! The room had 3 private balconies. The only thing I did not like about the balconies is that the lights stayed on all night. I would have liked to sleep with the curtains open, so if I woke up in the middle of the night, I could sit up and see the beautiful colors of Spaceship Earth. Then I could fall back to sleep with a smile on my face. Oh well, I slept with the curtains closed and pictured it in my mind instead. Not for long though, I was so tired by the end of the day, I fell asleep really fast! I went with my DH, DD(4 yrs.), DS(11 yrs.), and my DM. Both my DH and I thought the second BR was very private. My DH loved the room and the close access to Epcot because this was his first time going to WDW and he loved Illuminations, so he walked over 3 times to go see it. The room was very close to the road, I thought that the noise might bother me, but it did not. I could hear the traffic even with the door closed. I always sleep with a noise machine on and I wake up around 6:30 every morning, so maybe that is why it did not bother me. If you like it silent then this room may not be for you.
The only thing that I would complain about was housekeeping. When we arrived there were a few crumbs scattered about on the rugs in each room, the tile floors in the kitchen and the bathrooms where very slippery(I almost fell the first time I stepped onto the kitchen floor), there were quite a few hairs left over on both the bathroom floors, and when I went to take a shower on the first morning I was there, I grabbed a towel and an UNused sanitary napkin fell out of the towel!! Thank god it was unused!!! However, in their defense, I called them for an extra hairdryer for the second bedroom, and an egg crate for the pull out bed in the second BR (which by the way helped alot) and they were there both times within 5 to 10 minutes.
Overall, I loved the BCV and I am glad that it is my home away from home. I am very much looking forward to my next trip, whenever that may be. I have to start working on that!

p.s. I had my lime green mickey ears on the whole time I was there and nobody stopped me and I did not see anybody else wearing lime green ribbons. Where were all of you? I would loved to have met SOMEBODY.... ANYBODY! Well, maybe next time I will have better luck.
:wave2:

I heard that they often leave little surprises for people upon check-in. :rotfl:

Please tell me you are going to let DVC know about this.

Well, except for that little incident with the towel :scared1: , I' m glad you enjoyed your trip!:)

I'd love to see Nick's smiley for the "towel surprise" LOL!

It's always good to hear "news from home," and room 467 sounds marvelous! But, yikes! on the towel surprise. Either it was the housekeeper's OR the housekeeper didn't change towels between guests. I'm not sure which explanation I prefer. :scratchin

11 days and counting . . . again!

Much as I enjoy these boards, it is true that negative reviews of resorts tend to get the most play here...just like the nightly news I guess!

I'm glad you didn't let the board influence you into not trying something such as an EPCOT room view. One person's noise is another person's "didn't hear a thing".

Thanks for the report, and glad you enjoyed your stay. :)

Yikes on the towel surprise:scared1: Did you inform housekeeping/the front desk on what you found or should I say what found you? It is probably a good thing that you found it since most husbands would have freeked! Let us know what the response is from DVC. I would hope they would been concerned that this happened. If you found a surprise in the towel I would wonder if they were even changed? We found a dirty child's sock in our bed in the masterbedroom on our last trip. Makes you wonder why this would happen if the entire bed had been changed?

YUCK! :worried: :scared: :faint:

I just wanted to update you. I did e-mail DVC with a complaint about housekeeping when I returned home (after I read your response). I got an e-mail back saying it would be reviewed, then another e-mail a couple of days later from Jackie Leuders saying it was going to the executive offices, and I just received an e-mail this morning from the executive offices saying that it would be reviewed and I will hear from someone in a couple of weeks.
I sure do hope they improve the housekeeping there. I did not complain while I was there and I was not going to complain when I got home either because I thought maybe it was just a one time incident, but after I read about your dirty sock incident I thought maybe there is a bigger problem here with housekeeping. I'd hate to think that I was sleeping on sheets that someone else has already slept on. Did you complain about that?

I did speak to the front dest and then to the housekeeping supervisor while we were there. They "assured" me that the sheets had been cleaned and that the sock was probably just stuck between the blanket/comforter in the laundry. I then told them that the offending sock was still dirty and they had no explanation. GROSS. :scared1: :faint: I will be thoroughly looking through the beds next month when we go. I will also be faxing a request to the BWV to make sure that my room gets inspected and that the comforter is changed. I have read where others have questioned if the comforter is changed out between guests. Again :scared1: I think that is gross. I just want a clean room to check into and then when my family makes a mess I will be more than happy to clean it up. We don't live like pigs at home and I refuse to live like a pig while on vacation. Just my honest opinion here!:duck:
