A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

I've now been able to make FP+ reservations for Jan 4 and 5th. Heh. I don't even check in to an onsite hotel until the 7th. But having that AP on the account with the past reservation seems to have allowed my account to make those reservations at 60 days out. Pretty cool. It's really hard for me to post in the "FP+ is rotten and is ruining my life" threads, LOL.

And last night and tonight, while making those reservations, it errored out on me twice, telling me that I had someone in my party who was ineligible. I scoffed at it, knowing that their Department of Appropriate Error Messages was, well, never hired to begin with (Disney, call me!), canceled out of what I was doing, tried again (exact same day, park, and choices) and voila, it was done. Don't trust a Disney error message!

So it does seem we'll be arriving on the 4th. Especially since I booked flights for me and E to arrive on the 4th. Kinda works that way. :) Right now at this moment I'm thinking of the Doubletree at DTD for those first 3 nights. Anyone have any thoughts on that place? Hope it's still available tomorrow when I have the mental energy to make the decision.

Today the kiddo and I walk/ran 5K, and I am super-proud to say he didn't complain once! He commented on landing on a foot wrong, and commented on his skin itching (it was cold out and he's never experienced that "I'm exercising in the cold and my skin itches" thing), but he didn't *complain*. Awesome! We made up a course and did our 3.13 miles in 43:33! Pretty psyched about that. And he let me know that he does, indeed, want to stop for characters along the course. :3dglasses

So we get to meet in January?? YAY!!!!!

We leave on the 6th. I think we were planning for MK on the 5th, not sure where we were going to be on the 4th. So far the plan is to stay at the Dolphin, though their FP system is awful and I'm not sure how that is going to work for us. We don't do too many FP rides, but still wanted to do the safari (might actually go to AK this time!), Soarin, Star Tours, and Toy Story. And the kids might even try Thunder Mountain! But if we can't get FPs, not sure what will happen. But I really wasn't happy with the bus service at POR, and was looking forward to walking to 2 parks from the Dolphin.

I seem to be in a constant state of indecision. If the bus situation weren't such a mess at the moderates and values I would probably just stay at one of those.

:) Since we are getting in between 4 and 5pm and things seem to be closing early, we were thinking of heading to MK on the 4th because it has the latest hours. And then E chose AK out of the blue for the 5th. Apparently we're going to need to rethink things if we're to meet up! :)

Whew. Decision made.

After much back-and-forthing, and trying to figure out what I NEED in a room those first 3 nights, and the semi-free hotel nights we have from hubster's travel blah blah blahbbity blah, E&I are trying out a preferred pool-view room at POP Century. I was thinking AOA but he wasn't thrilled about the Little Mermaid rooms. Sigh. He was SO equal opportunity, I love princesses too, for SO long, and then it all just ended. (and seriously, WHY just have LM themed normal rooms? why? because frankly I don't much care for that movie, "girl-themed" or not) It's not even Prince Eric themed (that's the right prince, right?). It's not "royal". It's just Ariel. thhhhppphth.

So glad Robert won't be with us for all the moving around. His head is spinning just hearing about it!

It's like a magic trick. Don't look here, to the place where we're messing up all/some/half/a little bit/NONE of your information and plans...look HERE and be mesmerized by the free customized maps....that you've ordered something like 5 of over the years...

:rotfl2:

Please tell me how to link my AP to my magic band. When I was there, I was told it was not possible. I still have my band and obviously the AP.

I wish we were coming in that early too! I hate that we are just barely missing the christmas decorations!

First, :yay: for booking at Pop. I think if it were just my dd and I, I would totally be there!

Second, I am with you on the LM room. I like the movie well enough...in fact I really do like it. However... to only have that room that is not a suite?

Last, my dh would be the same way..head spinning with all the plans. He usually just tells me.."make it happen however you want" Truth is..he does care and there is a balance I need to find. Not involve him enough and he isn't happy that I didn't get him what he wanted. Involve him too much and he has the spinny head. ;)

Went in to look at my magicband order area to try to help someone, only to discover that it's ordering time for MBs!

For all 3 stays linked so far in MDE. At the end of this (including the stay not yet linked, our October stay, and the grey one I got since I thought I'd left my customized MB at home) I'll have grey, green, red, pink, orange, and blue. :lmao:

I just sort of did it! Tried for quite awhile leading up to October, and one day it "took".

Funny, when we were there we were ordered to get the RFID cards. Went to do it, and the guy said "these are on your magicbands, I haven't seen that, don't even know how I could put them on an RFID card at this point". Exact opposite as you!

I knew mine were linked to MDE but it wasn't until that day that we found out they were on the bands. It's possible yours are on and you just don't know.

I wonder if it is time for the rest of my party to order theirs. I will have to peak

I guess I will play around with MDE too... maybe I can get it to link. :thumbsup2 thanks for the tip.

Ann, I just started checking out your PTR. Aren't you excited? :) I like the way you write. Calm, collected, and informative. Like like like.

WHY am I having such problems figuring out what sorts of foods I should be having in the days leading up to my big run in January? Suddenly it's like I have no idea what I eat. :confused3

Don't remember if I mentioned, but I got us (me and E) on the direct Alaska flight (thank you airmiles!) out to Orlando, which means I get a manicure before the flight again. Poor kid, sitting there the whole time, but I think he can handle it. And even better? He can hold the tickets so I don't mess up the polish like I did in October.

Vain vain vain. :upsidedow In my defense, this will be approx my fourth manicure EVER, and only the second I've had since the kidlet's been on the planet. And he's so old and strong and helpful now. :goodvibes

Now that we are totally ONsite and *can* take Magical Express in, I'm really waffling on the rental car thing. It's so incredibly expensive for that time. I could get a grocery delivery or two and take taxis when we really need them and come in FAR less than the rental car. Right now at least. I'll keep checking. I'll need a car once it's time to visit family on the coast, but until then I just might not need one.

ETA...

Speaking of vain, while doing all those magicbands earlier, I went with pink for the time of the Half, and had "mollyHALF" put on the inside, and I chose that color (though I wanted RED) because it won't be heinous with my bright bright green Garmin10. I don't even have my race outfit planned yet, but I know it's going to have to coordinate with bright pink and brighter green. OH, and maybe not show the sweat so much. I dream the impossible dream....

And this means that dark purple is probably out for the nails. Maybe...frighteningly bright pink? Hmm, will have to see what Butter has when I'm there. You know, 2 months from now.:3dglasses

ETA....changed that up. Went with BLUE instead. Blue and my Garmin won't be as bright, and gives me more options, clothing-wise for the run. Because this is so important. :)

Plus, pink and green were our wedding colors, and seem frivolous to use when Robert almost certainly won't even be there. :)

Well Molly accessories make the outfit!:rotfl:

Hi! Long time no see!

Yay, Michele! Welcome back!!! I missed you! Just read the last page of your thread; so you're delayed but things are still moving forward. Bad and good. Glad your trip is still on, that's nothing but good!

Silly old Robert has to travel again tomorrow. :( Nearly last minute, too. Thought he was home for November. Did I mention this already? I've been trying to distract myself from it.

Did you see any of the house pictures? If you didn't you should! In my humble opinion it looks pretty amazing. I am going to put the latest ones up later today.

I think I might go crazy if I had Scotty home for that long. Don't get ne wrong he just gets underfoot.

I am so glad you headed over there and that your like the way I write. :rotfl: Calm? I try to be. ;)

I go through that too. Maybe because what I tolerate most of the time is on occasion what I can not tolerate. Plus I always second guess myself. Like maybe I had that work "ok" in the past and I just thought it worked well. That maybe a more "real" runner might know something I don't...and maybe I have it all wrong. Yup, I am weird that way.

:yay: for the direct flight. Those are so very nice and hard to get from this part of the country to that part of the country!

I have really been thinking that I wanted one for just a few days...but I am coming to that same conclusion. The use of taxis is bound to be far less than the cost of the rental. However, just like you, I plan to keep checking.

I got the pink for the trip last month, and it was far less bright pink than what the website makes it look like.

So fun to do your nails up!! I rarely do mine except for when going on vacation.

And two months :cool1::cool1:

That sounds like a good choice too!

I just did, I like it!

Where do the hobbit and alice doors lead?

I think I might go crazy if I had Scotty home for that long. Don't get ne wrong he just gets underfoot.

Oh, my use of the word "home" confuses the kiddo, so I should have known better than to use it here! I meant I thought he was just working out of Seattle this month, and then they sprang this on him. And us.

He got to have a redo of an uncomfortable conversation with his boss and new boss because of it, because he said YES and started booking without checking with the person he's continuing to try to have another child with, if you see what I'm saying. It was too late to back out of the trip without repercussions, but a *little* bit more planning has to happen if we're going to keep on dreaming this impossible baby-dream.

:yay: for the direct flight. Those are so very nice and hard to get from this part of the country to that part of the country!

I like the direct flight.

Today poor kiddo was having a hard time with Robert going on another trip (as well he should! but the job is what the job is right now), and while comforting there was another aspect of "remember that this job creates the airmiles that get us on these flights".

I think your flight leaves way too early (I have already forgotten????) but for the future...the manicure place is Butter:London in the secure part of SeaTac. They open at 6am and are in terminal/area 3, in case you have time/inclination. I'll be honest; it's a big reason I didn't go for the 6:30am connecting flight through San Diego, because I wouldn't have been able to do it. Their polishes are as non-toxic as a nail polish can be, which is nice.

They do full on pedicures, too. That's not my thing, but it was impressive to see how much work is put into a full pedicure!

Hi,
The doors lead into the crawl space. Scotty hates them. I see them as fun opportunities.

Oh I get it. Sometimes men get so dense and don't think. I am sending good thoughts your way.
