I will be going to Magic Kingdom next month

I was told no coolers
How about the packpacks that my boys use for school(the kind you get at walmart) can we use them
Do they have stroller rentels(sp) or wagons
My boys are 9,7 and 4
How would we go about seeing Mickey ect

Any thing else you can think of making our trip worth wild

For off, Razzy, :welcome: This is a great place to be, and there are many knowledgable people who are happy to help you plan a dreamy vacation to WDW.

A general rule of thumb is that nothing that you pull behind you is allowed in the parks. That means that coolers and backpacks on wheels and wagons are prohibited. Small coolers are absolutely allowed. However, keep in mind you will have to lug whatever you bring in with you or rent a locker, so keep that in mind. Stroller rentals are available, but you can also bring your own. I know your youngest is right on the cusp of perhaps needing one. One nice thing about strollers is the pocket underneath to help you carry your things.

About seeing Mickey.... he's at all the parks and many character meals.

I highly recommend getting the Disney planning DVD as well as the WDW unofficial guide. Watch and read those, and then ask your questions. It is really hard to get a real sense of how we can help until we know what you really want, and WDW is so big and offers so much that you can't really know yourself until you read about it a little first.

Good luck.

Welcome!
We found Mickey at Epcot, and then again we saw him at Chef Mickeys for breakfast one day.

We bring in a tote or backpack, and you can pack a few snacks too. They really just don't want you bringing in full meals of food.
If you know for sure your 4 YO will want to be in a stroller, I would bring your own. If not they do offer rentals, but from what I saw, they have little to no storage. We like our stroller becuase I can through our bag and extra change of clothes in the storage underneath.

Do you know when you are going? Where you are staying? If you are going to do the dining plan? How long? and which parks you are visiting? That can help as to determine the best spots to see characters.

Is it a single day trip to just this one park?

Yes, you can carry a tote, backpack, fanny pack or what have you. Even small softsided coolers are allowed.

How would we go about seeing Mickey ect

If you have a single day in MK only, you can see Mickey at his country house in ToonTown. Here's a list of where characters can commonly be found

If I have misread you and it is not a single day trip, but a multi-day, multi-park vacation, character meals are preferable to standing in lines, in my opinion. Chef Mickey's is a popular choice, but we did the Garden Grill at Epcot and had lots of time with the characters and I liked the food quite a bit...we did an early lunch, right around 11:15, and the characters came by our table 3 times.

We will be going one day and its a Sat
I just want a small cooler so I can carry water bottles in and such also the backpacks for snacks and whatnot

Thanks for the help

We found the perfect insulated bag at Target last year and it fit right over the top of the handles on the stroller. We filled it with waters, snacks etc. and it worked out great. In fact we are taking it along with us again in April.

Sit back and read some posts and you too will become addicted to all of the great information that is floating around DIS. You'll wonder how you ever planned a trip without it. :) Welcome!

I would get on the phone now and try to get an ADR for Chef Mickey! That is the very best place to see Mickey!! MY DS's went nuts at Chef Mickey's!!! It was by far there most favorite thing from our trip! You can see Mickey at the parks but not always get to hug him and get his autograph like you can at Chef Mickey's!!!:thumbsup2
