Just a couple things that I noticed while our family was there May 5-9

1. Parents changing a child's diaper on a table in a CS dining room. We saw this happen not once, but two times over 4 1/2 days in the parks. The second time while one kid was being changed a second was sitting barefoot a the table top right next to them.

2. People not bussing their own tables. This is kind of a pet pev of mine. Your mom probably doesn't work at WDW, clean up after yourself. Set a good example for your kids. When a dining room is busy and proper are looking for a table to sit and eat, I don't want to have to clean up your mess first. We are ALL on vacation here.

I was just amazed at these two things. Is this something that you would do at home or did you save these special treats for the rest of us.

1-gross
2- that drives me nuts too!

1. gross-I agree. My son is a tour guide on Great Movie Ride at HS and he has had people changing diapers on the ride with other people right next to them and leaving the diaper on the ride! Unbelievable...

2. So annoying. Dealt with this one ourselves.

1. ew. I admit, I've seen it too. And I've gone to WDW with a child in diapers before (on 2 trips!). Never once did I even consider this. The bathrooms aren't that far from anywhere you are in the parks (it is geared toward children....).

2. I have also seen this during my trips. Some people can be so slovenly. I agree that it's a pet peeve of mine as well.

The not-bussing tables annoys me no matter where it is. I can't believe the number of people in McDonalds who think they don't have to clear away their rubbish when they leave :confused3

that is really gross!

We always clean up after ourselves & hate when people just leave their trash. *SIGH* Is having common sense a dying breed?

1. Ummm yeah, that's pretty gross...

2. Always happens, it may be Disney, but people are still people...we see this happen at the mall...Disney may be "Magical", but it can't magically make people act better.

This is exactly why I always take along Clorox wipes and clean the CS tables before we use then :scared1:

Probably even worse is now they have to shut down the ride and bring out the bio hazard clean up kit (saw one at dtd after they cleaned up i'm assuming vomit.) OK not really labeled bio hazard but still sure their is a clean up protocol.

Oh, yeah...definitely adding Clorox Wipes to my packing list now!

Based on what I've heard CMs saying into their handsets, it's usually called a "protein spill". Although I did once hear an announcement that a guest had "lost their luggage" in Elevator (something), which was then shut down, presumably for cleaning.

Yes, cast members call pee, throw up etc a "protein spill" :) I had to call in those sometimes YUCK. I still do the Disney point to this day & my mom thinks it is funny.

I will be now that I've read this thread. :crazy2:

1. That is SO gross.
2. People never cease to amaze me

We just spent the weekend there & people in general seemed to really be in rare form; I must have missed the announcement that the Limited Time Magic for the weekend was "Pretend It's ALLLLLL About You & No One Else is Here Enjoying Their Vacations Too!".

Usually we find magic at every turn but this weekend I felt like I was always trapped in line next to a Negative Nellie ("Is this line REALLY this long??" moaned 10 mins after they joined a very visibly long line... & they just kept on & finally, "It BETTER be worth it!" Well, how can it be now? you've just spent 10 mins bringing ALL of us down!)

People were pretty pushy-shovy too - DD got shoved out of the way by a GROWN MAN who was apparently having an anxiety attack because his group had gotten 3 feet away from him. She was like, Are you kidding me? CHILL!

yea thats pretty much an industry wide term though i didn't think it applied to #2. :thumbsup2

We carry ours with us too!! Last thing we want is to get sick at Disney. It happened once to my son--don't know how he got sick, but he ended up at Celebration Hospital and it was NO FUN!! We try to prevent what we can, anyway. No guarantee he won't still get sick, but at least we can do our best!! :thumbsup2

term has been changed....

Ewww.

Hopefully anyone who thinks either of these things is a good idea will see this thread and realize they should be embarrassed by this behavior and QUIT DOING IT! JEEZ!
